Letter From the Lifestyle Team
ANGELITA HORTON YOUR LIFESTYLE MANAGER

Summer Relaxation is Here!
Summer is nature’s way of saying, “Let’s celebrate life” with long days, bright skies, and moments to savor.
This year has already been a productive one, highlighted by the launch of our new SIPS program (Wine Program). We also hosted our first signature event of the year, Under the Italian Sun, where we celebrated our community with a beautifully themed spring experience. We have several exciting events lined up this year, but my focus remains on supporting our community by organizing additional interest club leader meetings, fostering more vendor connections, and enhancing concierge services. As I continue to grow alongside the community, I am committed to addressing the evolving needs and desires of Wiregrass.
Additionally, we proudly introduced the 2025 Envoy Member Program. Our Envoy team is dedicated to fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for potential homebuyers and new homeowners alike. As active Members of the community, they provide valuable guidance to prospective buyers, helping them navigate the process of finding their perfect home. Additionally, the team offers ongoing support to new homeowners, ensuring a smooth transition and helping them feel connected to their new neighborhood.
Janaya Walden
YOUR LIFESTYLE CONCIERGE
My name is Janaya, and I’m excited to be part of the team! I was born and raised in sunny Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and recently made the move to the vibrant Wesley Chapel area. I’m a proud mom to a sweet and energetic baby boy who keeps life fun and full of surprises.
In my free time, I enjoy diving into video games, exploring new cuisines, and feeding my love for travel. I’ve been in the customer service industry since I was 16, and it’s truly where I thrive. I’m passionate about helping others and enjoy connecting with new people every day. I’m looking forward to growing with all of you and contributing to the amazing Wiregrass community!

Mermaids of the Sea

Furry Friends
Meet Max LOVED BY TONY & WENDY WHELAN
Max, the beloved teacup Yorkie of the Whelans, weighed just 1 pound 5 ounces when the couple first laid eyes on him at a pet store in Boca Raton. Although they initially hesitated with business trips ere on the horizon, fate stepped in. Tony surprised Wendy by secretly bringing Max home. Today, Max is a sturdy six pounds and full of personality. He prefers the company of people over other dogs and is always up for a cuddle. Not your typical pup, Max has no interest in toys or tricks, but he does have a favorite pastime: watching TV, especially football. Contact your Lifestyle Manager to be featured in the next edition of the Magazine. Answer a few questions about your furry, feathery, or scaly friend and share a couple pictures.
National Wildlife Federation teams up with LG Electronics (LG) for an ongoing campaign to highlight vulnerable and endangered species, such as the West Indian Manatee (including its two subspecies the Florida and Antillean Manatees). Currently, the biggest threats to manatees are boat collisions and loss of their primary habitat—warm water coastal ecosystems that provide seagrass beds. Additionally, entanglement in fishing gear and toxic algal blooms are also impacting manatee populations. Test your knowledge and learn fun facts about the beloved “Mermaid of the Sea.” To learn more, visit blog.nwf. org/2025/04/manatees-the-mermaids-of-the-sea

Rosalina Perales
The Members of our community are truly what make this a wonderful place to live. In each edition, we will spotlight a Member, couple or family to showcase the amazing people that call our community home. If you would like to be featured or want to nominate another Member, please contact your Lifestyle Manager.
Why did you choose Esplanade at Wiregrass Ranch?
I chose to live here because it included several options that my husband and I were looking for. Among them, the beautiful natural surroundings, the geography (the area has everything we need for a comfortable life), a nice community with a wonderful Venue and its proximity to the city of Tampa and its airport.
What Lifestyle Programming are you most interested in? Hobbies?
My hobbies are reading, writing, traveling, working with theater and cooking international food. The Lifestyle programming I am most interested in are the artistic activities, music and dancing nights.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received or given?
The best advice I received was to be free to pursue what I wanted to do in life. This advice came from my mother. I picked to travel the world, to do my graduate studies abroad and to get involved with literature, languages and all the arts I could study. I taught at different universities for 40 years. The best advice I gave to my students was to create early goals in life and follow them no matter the obstacles.
Tell us something about yourselves that may surprise people?
I studied two doctoral degrees in Spain, Germany, the United States (NY, Kansas and California), in Argentina, in Mexico and lived in the 18 countries of Latin America researching their theater history to write two books. In 2017 I got a Fulbright Grant from the Department of State of the US to do history and theater research in the Balkans. After living there with my husband for a year I wrote and published a bilingual book that includes three translations, plus theory and history. I am still translating plays from this area to complete a six-country book. That will be my seventeenth book. I love theater and that is why I created The Troupe, our theater group here in our community of Esplanade. I invite all interested people to join us.

5. Where is the most exciting place you’ve traveled to? I have traveled and lived all over the world and found out that every country has its own charm, something special and wonderful. That includes my country, Puerto Rico. Among the memories that remain from my trips there is the religious syncretism in Guatemala and the magic of their people relationship with corn, a vegetable that I saw planted everywhere even in the porches of some houses. Lately I got amazed by the mesmerizing beauty of Bled Lake in Slovenia. But the place that made me think I was in another planet was the Patagonia glaciers in Argentina that I had the opportunity to see and sail around before they started melting with the climate change.
