As I prepare to move on from my role, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude. It has been a true privilege to be part of this wonderful community. The warmth, kindness, and spirit of connection I’ve experienced here will stay with me always. YOUR COURTS PROFESSIONAL
Ted Heiser is a highly accomplished and passionate tennis and pickleball professional who brings both expertise and energy to the court. He is an elite certified tennis professional with RSPA (formerly USPTA), a PPR-certified pickleball professional, a cardio tennis enthusiast, and holds a Welch certification in clay court maintenance. With this unique blend of skills and knowledge, Ted is enthusiastic about creating dynamic programs that are both fun and rewarding for players of all levels.
In addition to his certifications, Ted currently serves as President of the Bonita Springs and Estero region for RSPA, where he plays an active role in shaping the future of racquet sports in the area. He stays connected to industry trends and innovations, ensuring that his members are always introduced to fresh, exciting, and meaningful programming.
Ted’s greatest strength lies in his ability to connect with people and create meaningful experiences on the court. For the Members of Esplanade by the Islands, this means access to innovative tennis and pickleball programs, personalized instruction, and engaging group activities designed to bring the community together. His leadership style emphasizes inclusion and fun, ensuring that players of all skill levels feel welcomed, supported, and motivated to improve. Whether helping beginners discover a love for the game or challenging players with new drills and competition, Ted is dedicated to making racquet sports an enjoyable and rewarding part of life at Esplanade.
Originally from the Northshore suburbs of Chicago, Ted has been proud to call Southwest Florida his full-time home for the past seven years. His love and passion for racquet sports shine through everything he does.
And here’s a fun fact - Ted is also the inventor of The GripFixx, an innovative grip training device designed to improve strength and technique for both tennis and pickleball players. His creativity and drive continue to fuel new opportunities to grow the game and inspire those around him.

Meet Enzo & Frankie Marie
LOVED BY TONI VANACORE
Toni is the proud and loving cat mom to two cherished feline companions: Enzo and Frankie Marie. These two cats may be very different in personality and background, but together they’ve formed a bond that brings endless joy and comfort to Toni’s life.
Enzo, a handsome 14-year-old orange tabby, has been with Toni since he was just a kitten. She adopted him from a shelter in New York, and the moment she laid eyes on him, she knew he was meant to be hers. Enzo recently celebrated his birthday in August and still acts like a spry young gentleman, especially when he’s basking in the early morning sun out on the lanai—a daily 6am ritual he never misses. Known for his sweet nature, Enzo is a friend to everyone he meets. His favorite treat? Anything chicken-flavored! Though he has one mischievous habit—scratching new furniture—his gentle, affectionate demeanor more than makes up for it.
Frankie Marie, a stunning Russian Blue, turned 11 this past September. Her journey to Toni was an unexpected one. Rescued during a brutally cold New York winter, Frankie Marie and her siblings were found abandoned in a parking lot. A friend posted her photo on Facebook, and although Toni wasn’t looking for another pet, she instantly fell in love with Frankie Marie’s face and knew she had to give her a forever home. She adopted her when she was just under three months old.
While Frankie Marie and Enzo didn’t hit it off right away, after about a month of cautious introductions, the two became inseparable. Now, they’re the best of friends. Frankie Marie is affectionate and loyal, often following Toni around like a little shadow and curling up to sleep on her shoulder each night. Her only vice? A tendency to overindulge—Toni has to keep a watchful eye to make sure Frankie doesn’t sneak bites of Enzo’s food!
Together, Enzo and Frankie Marie bring warmth, companionship, and endless love into Toni’s life. They are her heart and home, and she says she simply can’t imagine life without them.

Wood Sign PAINTING CLASS
Members came together for a fun and creative evening at our recent Wood Sign Painting Class, where they had the opportunity to paint and assemble their very own piece of seasonal décor. The event provided a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, making it easy to connect with neighbors while exploring their artistic side.
Shy Wolf SANCTUARY VISIT
A group of Members had the special opportunity to visit Shy Wolf Sanctuary, a refuge for over 40 rescued exotic animals including wolves, wolfdogs, and others. More than just a sanctuary, Shy Wolf offers a second chance to animals who have faced abandonment, neglect, or abuse. During the visit, we explored the peaceful 2.5-acre grounds, heard powerful stories of resilience, and saw the incredible work of dedicated volunteers up close.
Our recent Smores Making event was a sweet success! Members gathered around the fire to enjoy the simple pleasure of roasting marshmallows, melting chocolate, and sandwiching it all between crispy graham crackers — a delicious taste of nostalgia that brought back memories and created new ones, too.
