As we settle into the quieter summer months here in beautiful Naples, we extend a warm and sunny welcome to all of you reading this edition of our Lifestyle magazine. Whether you’re a year-round Member or spending the season elsewhere, we hope you're enjoying the tranquility that summer brings to our vibrant community.
Due to the seasonal nature of our area, we often experience a natural dip in participation during the summer. Additionally, with soaring temperatures, high humidity, and the near-daily afternoon rain showers typical of Southwest Florida this time of year, outdoor event planning can be especially challenging. As a result, you may notice a lighter schedule of events during these months.
That said, please rest assured – our Resort Lifestyle Team is committed to making this summer just
as memorable as any other time of year. We will continue to offer creative and engaging Lifestyle programming designed to suit a variety of interests and preferences, while adapting to the unique conditions of the season.
It’s also exciting to note that our community continues to grow each and every day. With every new Member and every new development, we move closer to realizing the full vision of our shared home. We look forward to the improvements and enhancements still to come and are grateful to share this journey with all of you.

Known for their unwavering dedication, strong work ethic, and friendly demeanor, both Narcis and Bob go above and beyond each day to create a seamless, enjoyable, and memorable dining experience for our Members. Their hard work and pride in what they do make them true standouts in our community. Read along to get to know them a little better and discover what drives their passion for service.

LEAD BAHAMA BAR SERVER
Narcis was born and raised in a small mountain town in Romania. He attended college in Bucharest, where he also worked full-time as a personal trainer in a private club setting – an experience that closely mirrors the environment here at Esplanade by the Islands. In 2007, Narcis relocated to Naples and has called it home ever since.
With over two decades of experience in customer service and hospitality, Narcis brings a wealth of knowledge, professionalism, and an impressive skill set to our team. His attention to detail and dedication to creating memorable experiences make him an invaluable part of the Esplanade family.
A lover of the outdoors, nature, and sunshine, Narcis feels right at home at the Bahama Bar – a little slice of paradise he’s proud to be part of. He’s passionate about what he does and always goes the extra mile to ensure Members and their guests leave with smiles and lasting memories.
Bob Fisher
BAHAMA BAR POOL SERVER & EXPEDITOR/FOOD RUNNER
Bob was born in the Philadelphia area but traded the Northeast for sunshine in 1997 when he moved to Florida to pursue a career in golf. Although that dream didn’t unfold quite as he had imagined, it opened the door to new opportunities—most notably, the chance to explore his passion for the game by caddying. He went on to earn a degree in Marketing and Business Administration from the University of West Florida in 2002.
From 2008 to 2010, Bob had the unique privilege of caddying for his younger sister, Laura, on the LPGA Futures Tour and at the U.S. Women’s Open. It was a special chapter in his life, combining his love for golf with the opportunity to support someone he deeply admires. Bob speaks with pride about Laura’s talent and determination on the course and cherishes the memories they created together during that time.
After his time on tour, Bob joined Old Collier Golf Club as a professional caddie before eventually transitioning into the restaurant industry. Over the years, he’s held a variety of roles at New York Pizza and Michelbob’s, and most recently, here within our community at the Bahama Bar. Known for his reliability and dedication, Bob has continued to grow and adapt across every position he's taken on.
Today, Bob takes on a dynamic role at the Bahama Bar, serving as a pool server by day and an expeditor/food runner by night. As a trained lifeguard, Bob hopes he never has to dive in, but he’s always ready if the situation calls for it. He enjoys his work at Esplanade and takes pride in delivering great service to the Members, always striving to treat them well in return for their kindness and support.

In this issue, we’re shaking things up in our beloved pet feature! While we usually showcase the adorable pets of our Members, this time we’re giving a little love to the furry companions of our hardworking staff. Meet Sam, the loyal pup who keeps Resort Manager Colette on her toes, and Jarvis, the ever-curious sidekick of our Maintenance Team Member Edwin. These two four-legged friends are as much a part of our community as their humans—and we’re thrilled to introduce them to you!
Meet Sam
LOVED BY COLETTE M c BREEN
Meet Samuel Angus—better known as Sam—a lovable Golden Irish with a heart as big as his paws. Sam is a beautiful blend of two noble breeds, Irish Setter and Golden Retriever, giving him the perfect mix of grace, smarts, and charm. He celebrated his 3rd birthday this past March and is the beloved companion of our Resort Manager, Colette. Born on a farm in Pennsylvania, Colette’s home state, Sam’s journey to Southwest Florida began at just 8 weeks old. He boarded a flight to Fort Myers, where he quickly stole the spotlight as the highlight of the plane ride—on his way to meet the person who would become his forever human. The rest, as they say, is history.
Sam is extremely affectionate and loyal, forming an unbreakable bond with Colette. His favorite activities include early morning walks and long belly rub sessions. However, he does have a mischievous streak—especially when it comes to barking at small dogs (but we all have our quirks!). Though Sam faces some health challenges that require a strict diet, daily medications, and frequent vet visits, he takes it all in stride. In fact, his vet calls him a model patient. Sam confidently jumps onto the exam table and lays down like a pro, earning high praise from the entire veterinary staff. Despite everything, Sam’s spirit never wavers. His loyalty, warmth, and loving nature make him an irreplaceable part of Colette’s life.

Jarvis LOVED BY EDWIN
Jarvis is a five-year-old Australian Shepherd. This lively pup belongs to Edwin from our amazing Maintenance Team, and he’s a constant source of joy, laughs, and a little bit of mischief.
A true foodie at heart, Jarvis is always ready to lend a paw in the kitchen. Whether he’s volunteering as a taste tester or swooping in as part of the floor-cleaning squad, he takes his culinary duties very seriously—especially when eggs, peanut butter, cheese, chicken, or blueberries are involved.
When he’s off-duty, Jarvis loves nothing more than lounging on the patio, strolling through his neighborhood, or heading out for a car ride. He’s a social butterfly through and through, and while his excitement sometimes gets the better of him (especially when new people are involved—jumping included), his big heart and playful energy make him impossible not to love.
Jarvis’s journey to his forever home with Edwin is a story to remember. It began with a drive to Punta Gorda to pick him up and turned into a wild adventure through a raging thunderstorm. But even as a puppy, Jarvis sat calm and confident in his new owner’s lap the whole way home—completely unfazed and clearly ready to take on the world. From his brave beginnings to his lovable personality, Jarvis reminds us all why dogs truly are man’s best friend.

Let's GLOW PICKLEBALL SOCIAL
Our courts came alive under the stars for one of the most anticipated events of the year – Let’s GLOW, our electrifying glow-in-the-dark Pickleball Social! The pickleball courts were completely transformed into a glowing arena, where players of all levels practiced their drills and faced off in friendly matches under neon lights. Meanwhile, spectators lined the sidelines, cheering on their neighbors and soaking in the one-of-a-kind atmosphere.
Adding to the excitement, a live DJ kept the energy high with great music all night long, while glow-in-the-dark stilt walkers wowed the crowd with their towering performances. And of course, complimentary beverages kept everyone refreshed and in the spirit to socialize, play, and enjoy an unforgettable evening.
Let’s GLOW has truly become a beloved tradition in our community—a night where Members come together to celebrate the joy of connection, movement, and the fast-growing sport of pickleball. We turned up the volume and took a trip back in time with our totally rad Signature Event – Born to Rock.
The night featured an incredible live performance by Rock Republic, whose high-octane setlist brought the greatest hits of the 80s roaring back to life. They had the crowd dancing, singing, and rocking out all night long.
Attendees also indulged in a spread of delicious food and drinks. And to top it all off, everyone had the chance to take home a piece of the night with their very own personalized airbrush souvenir—a one-ofa-kind memento to remember this unforgettable event.

Matches will be timed, and when you hear the song “Wipeout,” it’s time to move. The winning team moves up a court, and the opposing team moves down a court. Teams are then split to make new random partners. At the end of the tournament, the player who manages to surf up to the number one court and stays there the longest is declared the winner!

National Acai BOWL DAY
We celebrated National Açaí Bowl Day in the sweetest way possible—with a visit from the local food truck, Nashbowls! Members were treated to refreshing, handcrafted açaí bowls packed with fresh fruit, granola, and all the delicious toppings you could dream of. It was the perfect cool treat to enjoy on a warm April morning in our beautiful community.

Mermaids of the Sea
National Wildlife Federation teams up with LG Electronics (LG) for an ongoing campaign to highlight vulnerable and endangered species, such as the West Indian Manatee (including its two subspecies the Florida and Antillean Manatees). Currently, the biggest threats to manatees are boat collisions and loss of their primary habitat—warm water coastal ecosystems that provide seagrass beds. Additionally, entanglement in fishing gear and toxic algal blooms are also impacting manatee populations.
