Letter From the Lifestyle Team
DELANEY ANDERSON YOUR LIFESTYLE MANAGER

It’s
Sunshine Season!
We’re lucky enough to live in a place where others come to vacation. While the heat can be tough at times, it’s worth it for the paradise we call home—especially with the beach just down the street. As we search for cooler air during these warmer months, let’s take a moment to appreciate the beauty of summer and all it brings. Now is the perfect time to celebrate with exciting events and offerings. Look at what’s happening in May and June at Esplanade at Azario.
To kick off May, we’re offering a special Two Blooms Floral Class in honor of Mother’s Day. This class will teach participants how to create beautiful floral arrangements, making it a wonderful way to celebrate the mothers in your life. In addition, we’ll be bringing in a guest from TDM Technologies International to teach a session on the basic functions of the iPhone. This class is perfect for anyone looking to boost their tech skills.
Of course, May wouldn’t be complete without some festive celebrations! We’ll be honoring both Cinco de Mayo and
Memorial Day with fun events designed to bring people together in the spirit of celebration and remembrance.
In June, we’ll be hosting Cooking & Cocktails events on two separate dates. These gatherings are the perfect way to kick off summer, with a combination of delicious food and refreshing cocktails. We’ll also be celebrating Father’s Day by offering a chance to toast to dads and enjoy great company. Whether you’re here for the food, the drinks, or simply to spend quality time with loved ones, our June events are sure to make the start of summer unforgettable.
We have so much to look forward to in the coming months, and there will be plenty of opportunities to create memorable moments with fellow Members. Be sure to check out the Lifestyle website as we continue to add more exciting activities to the calendar—both on and off-site. Cheers to summer!

Furry Friends Meet Oliver
LOVED BY TONYA & PETER BENSTOCK
Oliver is a five-year-old English Bulldog who joined the Benstock family in February 2020, just weeks before the pandemic. The timing allowed them to establish a routine and teach him a few tricks, but it soon became clear that he needed more stimulation. They introduced him to various toys, especially balls, and quickly discovered he was “ball-motivated.” Over time, they realized he had a special talent for handling soccer balls, especially after playing with neighborhood kids.
Oliver is lucky to have two homes - one on the New Hampshire seacoast, where he spends summers chasing balls on the beach, and now their new home in Azario. Since moving in December 2024, he’s made the dog parks his daily playground. In the mornings, he focuses on speed work with his “chuck it” sticks, but every evening, he shows off his impressive technical skills with his big red ball. His handling abilities have grown, and he’s been attracting attention from fellow dog park visitors. This summer, they’ll head back to New Hampshire and will be buying another big red ball to keep Oliver’s soccer skills sharp!

Esplanade Envoys

John Coliton
John and Kim Coliton moved into Esplanade at Azario Lakewood Ranch in April 2021, with this being their eighth and hopefully final move. John and Kim have been married for 37 years and have four children and four grandchildren.
John is the Owner of the HR and Safety consulting firm Coliton Consulting, LLC. John retired from UPS in June 2021 after 37 years of service. He enjoys mentoring veterans, being a volunteer for the Knights of Columbus, ice hockey, and golf. As an early Member of Azario, John helped establish the Azario Men’s Golf Group, Bowling League and Fishing, Firearms & Archery Club.
John and Kim have been Envoys in the past, and participated in a video for Taylor Morrison’s national website. They love living in an Esplanade community where they have made lifelong friendships!
Betts Murdison
Betts Murdison’s Azario adventure began on a rainy Fourth of July weekend when she and her husband couldn’t play golf, so they decided to drive around and look at model homes “just for fun.” From the moment they entered the Asolo gate and spotted the 15th green, they knew they wanted to live there.
Though they had recently renovated their home in the Meadows, the allure of Azario was impossible to ignore. And so, here they are,

confident it was one of the best decisions they’ve ever made.
Betts retired as CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Augusta, while her husband, Ken, continues to work part-time as a pediatric cardiologist. Originally from Canada, they’ve lived in the U.S. for over 30 years. They share their home with two cockapoos, Lexi and Pippa.
Their three sons are all married, and they have five grandchildren, with one more on the way in July. Betts and Ken feel incredibly blessed with wonderful neighbors in a fantastic community and are grateful every day for this special place. Fun fact: This is their third Taylor Morrison home, and it’s by far the best one yet.
Elizabeth Dygert
Elizabeth Dygert and her husband Scott have been living in their beautiful community for almost a year, and they absolutely love it. They relocated from the San Francisco Bay Area and feel incredibly fortunate to call this paradise their home. Scott jokingly refers to it as a “cruise ship on steroids.” The amenities, fitness programs, social events, and top-notch food have exceeded their expectations, and the sense of community is wonderful.
In the short time they’ve been there, Elizabeth and Scott have made many new friends. Although relocating after 35 years in their previous home was daunting, it has undoubtedly been worth it. They both love their home and the vibrant community they now belong to.

Whiskey & War Stories
Tuesday, June 17 | Culinary Center

Join us for a memorable evening hosted by SIP Wine Club, where veterans, their families, and friends unite over a shared passion for whiskey and the camaraderie of war stories.
This special event, Whiskey & War Stories, highlights the powerful connection forged through the love of bourbon and the recounting of triumphs and hardships faced by our brave service members.
Featuring guest speaker retired LTC Rob Schaefer, a founding partner of American Freedom Distillery and one of the original 12 “Horse Soldiers” who deployed to Afghanistan following the 9/11 attacks, the event delves into the inspiring tale behind Horse Soldier Bourbon and the courageous mission of ODA 595. This mission marked the entry of the first U.S. military team into Afghanistan in the early days of the war.
Attendees will enjoy delicious appetizers, partake in a curated bourbon tasting, and receive a special gift: a bottle of Horse Soldier Bourbon Whiskey personally signed by Ret. LTC Schaefer. The experience leaves each guest with not only a unique memento, but also a deep appreciation for the courage, sacrifice, and enduring legacy of this extraordinary 12-person Green Beret team.

Create a Certified Wildlife Habitat®
You don’t need acres of land to support wildlife—a small container garden can make a big impact! The National Wildlife Federation offers tips for creating native plant container gardens that attract pollinators, perfect for balconies, decks, courtyards, or even window boxes. We recommend you use a combination of many planters in your container garden. The more containers you have, the more native plants you can include! Plus, you can use various sizes, heights, and styles of pots which add visual interest. For more information and how to get started, visit www.nwf.org/ContainerGarden
