Letter From the Lifestyle Team CORRIN GODLEVSKE YOUR LIFESTYLE MANAGER
Spring has sprung! I want to thank everyone for such a warm welcome to the Esplanade at Wiregrass Ranch family. The last few months have been amazing, and it is a privilege to be a part of such a wonderful group. It takes a solid foundation to build a thriving, lively community. Thank you all for playing such an essential part in our future. We recently had our Dusty Boots, meaning we are one step closer to the beautiful Resort-Style Amenity Center. In other exciting news, we have our first Signature Event of the year, Peace. Love & Esplanade, the second weekend in March. I hope to see you all there! Spring has officially sprung at Esplanade. I am looking forward to many more amazing events outside, enjoying this beautiful Florida weather. Be sure to attend your monthly Coffee and Conversation, an informal opportunity to talk about upcoming events and share what you would like to see in our community. Plans are in the works for Samba and knitting clubs to join our calendar. In addition, we encourage all Members to join us for Esplanade 101, as well as Neighborhood News. This is a great way to learn more about the community you call home and talk with Community Association Manager, April, along with myself. I look forward to seeing you at our next gathering!

Stasia Hope Voorhees YOUR REGIONAL LIFESTYLE DIRECTOR
W
e are pleased to formally introduce you to Stasia Voorhees, your Regional Lifestyle Director of the Esplanade Brand. Stasia is currently providing onsite Lifestyle support to all twelve Esplanade communities located in Florida. That portfolio continues to expand and evolve as the Esplanade Brand reaches new heights nationwide! In addition to providing strategic Lifestyle programming support to all local Lifestyle teams, Stasia has played a pivotal role in providing day-to-day operations support at the communities. Whether that’s showing up ready to set up and break down an onsite event or taking on the daily responsibilities of a local Lifestyle Manager during times of staff transition, Stasia is truly an irreplaceable member of our team and is always ready to step in at a moment’s notice. After earning her Associates of Arts Degree from St. Petersburg College, and her Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the Florida Institute of Technology, Stasia began her career as a teacher and taught early childhood education, ages 3-6 years old. After learning about the Lifestyle Manager role, she decided to make a career transition, and was an acting Lifestyle Manager for five years before her well-deserved promotion to Regional Lifestyle Director. Born and raised in Safety Harbor, Florida, Stasia is the oldest of three, with two younger brothers, Brandon and Mitchel. She is also the proud aunt of Santi and Colton. In 2017 she married her husband Kelly, and the pair celebrated their 5-year wedding anniversary in February of this year! Kelly and Stasia met in their hometown but eventually relocated to Sarasota, where they met some of their most cherished, lifelong friends! Stasia currently shares a loving home with her husband, her dog Yoshi (who will be celebrating a 9th birthday this year) and her beloved, almost threeyear-old son Benjamin. “He is truly the most amazing thing to ever happen to me. He has taught me so much about love and life and I am so fortunate to be his mommy,” Stasia shares. As a family, some of their favorite things to do together are play outside where Benny loves to swing on his special red swing, watch football, go on adventures and spend time with family and friends. Stasia’s side of the family are also Disney lovers and self-proclaimed (rightfully so!) Disney park experts, and have created many wonderful memories at the Walt Disney World Resort together with annual family trips. Stasia comes from a very sport centric family, with a special affinity for football. “I am a huge Miami Dolphins fan and Tampa Bay Lighting fan - Go Fins and Bolts!” Stasia and her husband also really enjoy traveling. Stasia’s schedule keeps her on the road and adventuring across the state of Florida, but if you happen to see her around your community, she’d love to meet you in person. Thank you Stasia, for all that you do for our teams – we could not do it without you!

Florida Strawberry Festival March 3 - March 13
E
ach spring, the Florida Strawberry Festival® rolls out the red carpet to welcome visitors from throughout the Sunshine State and the world. Guests come from near and far to enjoy exhibits of agriculture, commerce, industry, livestock, fine arts, horticulture, and crafts. The fabric of American life is woven into the festival through social events, contests, youth developmental programs, top-name entertainment, and parades with glorious floats and high-stepping marching bands. The Florida Strawberry Festival represents a piece of Americana, a time in American history when fairs and festivals brought communities together through celebrations of their harvests. It has continued to grow in popularity year after year through the preservation of this
heritage. Central to its focus, the festival continues to preserve and enhance the agricultural and historical legacy of the Florida strawberry. Further, steeped in tradition, the Florida Strawberry Festival is alive with volunteer spirit, uniting people from all parts of Plant City, Florida and the surrounding area. The event began back in 1930 when members of the newly organized Plant City Lions Club conceived the idea of an event to celebrate the bountiful harvest of strawberries. In 1948, the American Legion Post #26 helped get the Florida Strawberry Festival reactivated following a six-year hiatus during and immediately following World War II. The Lions Club and other civic organizations have participated in the festival ever since.
Restoring the Gulf of Mexico From the National Wildlife Federation
T
he Gulf of Mexico is an incredible haven for wildlife—home to approximately 15,000 unique species of wildlife, including 28 types of dolphins and whales, 49 species of sharks, and five different sea turtles. The National Wildlife Federation has long worked to improve the health of the Gulf of Mexico for people and wildlife, and to protect the way of life of the 50 million people who live near the Gulf. Over the decades, we have championed the restoration of Louisiana’s rapidly-eroding Mississippi River Delta, advocated for the restoration of the Everglades, and protected freshwater flowing to the Texas coast. Each installment of this interactive culinary experience will last approximately one hour and will include a step-bystep demonstration of the selected fare (one food item and one libation) from professionals in their craft. At the conclusion of the experience, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a sample size of each featured item. The first class in the series will feature Ceviche and Pisco Sours! Space is limited, so visit the event calendar on your community website to register for this gastronomic event! Please note, participants will not be actively cooking these dishes or preparing cocktails, but volunteers may be requested. Portions are sample size. If you are unable to join us in person for the demonstration, digital recipe cards will be emailed out at a future date to give you the opportunity to test out your culinary skills at home!
