Monica Bailey
COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION MANAGER
We are pleased to introduce Monica Bailey, your new Community Association Manager for Esplanade at Tradition. She has been a Licensed Community Association Manager (LCAM) for a year in Florida and has been involved in property management for over 17 years. Monica was inspired to venture into this industry after watching her grandma build her business from the ground up in property management and real estate. Her first management job was working in her grandmother’s office at 17 years old and learning the business.
Monica is originally from the central Illinois area and relocated to Port St. Lucie in September 2021. She shares her life with her children and pets - two daughters (ages 16 and 14), a son (age 12), and her Chihuahua/Maltese/Wiener dogs, Munchie and Simba. “We enjoy spending time together as a family and creating new memories and experiences. We love anything involving the water such as boating and jet skiing. My daughter is currently playing competitive volleyball and my son is starting his first year in football,” Monica shares.
Monica is excited to be a part of the Esplanade at Tradition community and is looking forward to building a great rapport and professional relationship with everyone. If you see her driving in the community, don’t be shy, come say hi!
Gratitude Journal
As the holidays are fast approaching, it is a great time to reflect on all the wonderful things in your life and be most grateful. However, sometimes the hustle and bustle of the season can be stressful and even overwhelming at times. So, how can you overcome this and stay positive you might ask ... by taking time to focus on the good!
Take as little as 15 minutes a day to write in a gratitude journal about the people, places, things, and situations that you are most grateful for. This self-care habit can help with your overall wellness and morale during this joyous season. Studies have shown that gratitude journaling can also give you a greater connection to others, give you increased personal joy and even help you sleep better because it helps counterbalance any negative self-talk.
When you sit down to journal, try to connect with something specific, as the more detailed you can get while writing what you are grateful for, the easier it will be to connect with the emotion. It matters less what you write, but rather more what you experience and feel.

Furry Friends
Meet Etta Mae & Phil LOVED BY LAURA & DAL DAILY
Laura and Dal Daily love dachshunds! Their girl, Etta Mae, is a 9-yearold mini dachshund that they saved from a puppy mill. She had a tough life is very spoiled now.
Phil is 2 years old and was going to be a show dog, but couldn’t since he needed major surgery, so we adopted Phil and got him the surgeries he needed. Phil participated in the Port St. Lucie Oktoberfest, but he did not win a medal. There is always next year!

Diabetes Prevention Month
November is American Diabetes Month. The CDC estimates that over 37 million people in the U.S. have diabetes and 96 million people aged 18 years or older have prediabetes (26 million of those people are 65+). Persons with prediabetes are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and stroke. However, type 2 diabetes can be prevented or delayed through a structured lifestyle change program that promotes weight loss, healthy eating, increased physical activity, including walking and yoga, and managing stress.
Making a few changes in your lifestyle now may help you avoid the serious health complications of diabetes in the future, such as nerve, kidney and heart damage. It’s never too late to start. Did you know one of the best ways to decrease your risk of diabetes is walking? Spending 30 minutes of brisk walking, five times each week is a great way to increase your physical activity. You can even break the 30 minutes down into 10-minute sessions three times a day.

If you would like to be featured or want to nominate another Member, please contact your Lifestyle Manager.
Sherri and Bob Fucito are originally from New York and couldn’t wait to get out of the cold weather and start their new life in the Sunshine State! Due to Bob’s career in the steel industry, they lived for the past 15 years in Bethlehem, PA. Sherri was a professional singer and became a realtor when she turned fifty! Their son Alex still resides in Pennsylvania. They enjoy photography, concerts, traveling and discovering great restaurants. Recently retired, Sherri and Bob fulfilled a lifelong dream by living in Italy for a while. When they came back to settle down, they came across Esplanade. Impressed by the homes and the welcome they received by the neighbors, Bob and Sherri agreed. “We knew this was our forever home.”

Ways to Attract & Enjoy Birds this Fall
Autumn brings dramatic changes in the bird life of any North American backyard. As many of the feathered residents that visit your yard during summer go south, migrants from regions to the north will pass through. Some will make brief stopovers while others will spend the winter. You can make the most of this seasonal avian passage by making some adjustments to your property that will attract greater numbers of different birds in the fall—and help them thrive.
