QUARTERLY PRODUCT UPDATE
Q1 - Q2 2025

In late 2024, we announced a creative collaboration with innovative architectural solutions company Arktura to launch Silhouettes Bringing together our innovative Cloud technology with Arktura’s infamous designs, Silhouettes fully integrate into any configurable Cloud assembly, hiding diffusers and speakers that accompany necessary ceiling systems without disrupting function.
With three different patterns and colors to choose from, owners and architects can choose the exact technology assembly that best meets their functional needs without detracting from their ideal aesthetics.

We were excited to install each of the three Silhouette designs ahead of a key leadership retreat between Overcast Innovations, McKinstry, and Armstrong World Industries. Shown hanging in the barn at the lovely eastern Washington ranch where the event was held, are the Radia, Dappled, and Horizon Silhouettes in Arktura White, Silver Metallic, and Black, respectively.
Each Cloud showcased unique lighting: 6’ lensed linear lights, 6’ louvered linear lights, (5) cell miniature downlights, and 1” micro downlights.
In an open environment such as a barn, acoustical performance was paramount. Our Clouds did not disappoint, with Arktura’s Soft Sound® acoustic backers integrated for impactful acoustic performance.
Why don’t we see these Clouds in the barn covered with devices typically found in ceilings?
On the next page, we will explore our answer to that question...

This quarter, we achieved a significant milestone in the integration of mechanical and acoustic systems into our Cloud product line. Our team successfully integrated a speaker, a sound masking unit, a wireless access point (WAP), and a plaque diffuser—all concealed behind our Silhouette panels—without compromising device performance.
This advancement highlights our ongoing commitment to designing beautiful products that do not sacrifice function. By maintaining the visual integrity of our panels while allowing them to house these components, we’ve expanded the design possibilities for architects and designers seeking seamless acoustic solutions without the visual clutter of devices and equipment.
Rigorous testing confirmed that the speaker’s audio clarity, the effectiveness of the sound masking system, the signal strength and fidelity of the WAP, and the air distribution of the plaque diffuser remained within optimal performance ranges. This is a key achievement, proving that complex building systems can coexist in a deceivingly simple, elegant assembly.

Swinerton is no exception when it comes to showing off the built structure, and Overcast took the challenge of balancing acoustics with aesthetic head-on. From modern conference spaces featuring our beautiful Oak Stain wood slat Clouds to collaborative open offices furnished with 2” thick Red List Free polyester felt acoustic panels, noise is kept to a minimum while maximizing form and design. For narrow open spaces, our smaller 2’ wide Clouds with downlights added the right touch of sophistication. And thanks to our Modular Grid Platform (MGP), the grid ceilings feel cutting-edge and new.

Overcast continues to plant its flag in the healthcare and higher education vertical markets with the University of Washington Regional Initiatives in Dental Education (UW RIDE). A variety of Overcast lighting plays to the strengths and needs of each individual space, adding complexity and diversity. The White Matte powder coating gives a smooth and modern appearance to the otherwise traditional ceiling. A space built like a perfect smile required the best-in-class prefabricated ceiling grid solution, and Overcast was happy to deliver.

In the first half of 2025, Overcast Innovations attended two major conferences -International Mass Timber Conference 2025, in Portland, Oregon, and AIA 2025 in Boston, Massachusetts. At IMTC, we showcased how our Cloud solution works to showcase beautiful CLT ceilings and aligns perfectly with the critical mission of reducing embodied carbon and waste in the building industry.
Managing Director Robb Andrade and Director of Engineering Jay Martin are shown below sharing our story with curious minds, and our sleek Dappled pattern Cloud in Silver Metallic reported for duty. Imagine a deviceless gorgeous wood ceiling. It’s possible with Overcast! Scan the QR code on this page to read more about how Overcast enhances CLT spaces.

At AIA, Our Northeast Market Business Development Manager, Sean Whalen, accompanied Robb to both share the Overcast story and learn from various industry leaders, such as keynote speaker, former Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, whose talk was the highlight of the event for Sean. Overcast is always excited to adapt to the ebbs and flows of the industry, and our prefabricated,
modular design approach grants us flexibility that we hope becomes more ubiquitous with time. With two successful conferences wrapped for the year, we’re relentlessly pushing forward, revolutionizing the industry a day at a time!
