Wymeswold Manor "Engage, Encourage & Appreciate"
Every Day Is A New Opportunity To Make Life Brighter Part of the Broadoak Care Home Group, a family run business established in 1986 Wymeswold Manor is a newly opened care home, fully refurbished to an exceptionally high standard to provide state of the art care for our residents, with all of the nishing touches residents would expect from a warm and welcoming home with luxurious social spaces, attractive décor and freely accessible secure gardens. Wymeswold Manor will care for 32 residents and all bedrooms are ensuite, enabling the home to deliver person-centred care in a digni ed manner, promoting independence as far as possible. Included within the home are parkings, baths and additional wet rooms. Wymeswold Manor is more than just a care home – it is a lifestyle choice and the next chapter in your life.
Here at Broadoak Care homes we understand that choosing a residential care home for you or a loved one is a very important decision. The care home you choose should exceed your needs and expectations in every aspect, from care provided to the living environment, lifestyle, food and activities the facility can give. Providing this rewarding new chapter is what Broadoak does best. The older we get, the less we plan for tomorrow; we live for today. So let’s make every day as good as it can be. Living in a home shouldn’t mean an end to new experiences for you or your loved one. We provide exceptional care by working our hardest to make everyday life a pleasure. From the biggest decisions concerning health, through to the smallest details, like a morning cup of tea at the right time, made just the way you like it. Working closely with you, we will help you maintain a lifestyle you’re comfortable with, based around personal care, recreation and activities, and food and din ng. The way we see it, this is your time to suit yourself, to carry on with the things you love to do. Spending time with friends, pursuing hobbies, sitting in the garden, listening to live music: whatever you enjoy, we will help you keep doing it.
We have vacancies for carers and senior carers nights and days
Our Dementia Care is about supporting our residents to live meaningful lives full of contentment and happiness, irrespective of the type of dementia they live with and their symptoms.

DearR Readers, Dar eaders, I hope this issue finds you well and ready for the autumn months. Still time for those walks in the Outwoods and so many other lovely places in Leicestershire. I meet September with a little trepidation as I have the first of my knees replaced. One takes for granted the ease of motion when you are young but as I grow old, disgracefully, those decisions of youth catch up with you! Walk that walk, find your exercise class or join the gym, swim a few lengths but don’t sit on your laurels. This issue sees us cooking a toffee apple bread and butter pudding (well a gal can’t give up everything, lol) I hope you enjoy it. If it’s food your looking for we have the Laughing Buddha (see page 3) and just to sneak in that exercise we have JKM Swimschool on the same page. Both highly rated! If you find you use any of our advertisers, please remember to let them know you found them in our little magazine. We would greatly appreciate it. Take care til next time Rachel

Toffee Apple Bread & Butter Pudding
6 oz unsalted butter 6 tablespoons golden syrup 6 oz dark muscavado sugar 4 apples, cored, peeled and cut into bitesize pieces 2 beaten eggs
7 oz milk 7 oz double cream 1lb panettone thickly sliced or 1lb white thick sliced bread with crusts removed or brioche bread cut into strips
Method Preheat oven to 190C, 375F. In a pan, melt the butter, sugar and golden syrup. Continue to stir continuously for about 10 mins whilst on a low heat. Add the apple pieces and continue to cook for another 5 minutes until the apple is softened. Put to one side whilst in a bowl mix together the milk, cream and eggs. Take each strip of your chosen bread and dip into the mixture and line the bottom of a 2 pint buttered ovenproof dish. Pour half the apple mixture over and repeat with the remaining bread and apple mixture creating a layered pudding. Bake for 20 to 30 minutes until the top is a golden colour and the pudding is bubling on top. Leave to rest in a low oven until ready to serve with custard of cream (or maybe both!) Enjoy this scrumptious pudding.
