If you or your loved one are in your latter years, don't you want to leave a picture of yourself that is really you, that captures the way you want to be remembered. A picture that your loved ones will cherish for generations?
I can provide a photo portrait service that does this in your own home. I saw the need for this after visiting a bereaved friend. She told me how their local photographer, in his studio, had struggled to get a picture of her husband that captured his character and personality without showing signs of his Parkinson’s disease. He succeeded and my friend could not stop looking at the picture.
I have been a serious amateur photographer since the age of 13. When my first daughter was born prematurely and placed out of sight in a incubator for days, I put a photograph of her by my wife’s bedside within hours to help strengthen the bonding process. It was easy for me because I was a doctor in the same hospital. Doing that was completely new in 1969 but is normal today.
I am now a retired family doctor using my skills as a doctor and photographer to satisfy this occasional need. If this resonates with you, e-mail me or phone me (Doug) and we can perhaps start a conversation. The cost is modest.

Dear Readers
The Hope Bell was unveiled in Queens Park on 4th July. A fitting tribute to the NHS, keyworkers and as a reminder of how local communities rallied round one another during the Covid 19 pandemic. A place of reflection to remember those we lost and a beacon of hope for the future. It is well worth a visit and to hear it chime.
The recipe this issue is for my lemon shortbread. I can remember making this as a child and it is still as delicious today and so easy to make. Why not get the children to have a go at making it?
