Make Art: Bournemouth Make Art is a free and relaxed in-person art group run monthly by arts charity Outside In and led by artist Stuart Milburn.

It is an opportunity to: Connect with other artists in a relaxed and creative space.

Talk about art, life, and creativity.

Work on your own art projects and share your work.

Meet other local artists over a cup of tea or coffee Check our website to find out when our next session will take place. Sessions are run from 2pm - 4pm.

Outside In Interview and Outside In Gallery About me: I am an ambassador, multi-disciplined creative, and social artist with the passion to explore development opportunities that support other artists on their journeys.

About my work: I focus on the mind of the artist through visionary and conceptual eyes, using time, sequence, layering, movement, and freedom of expression with a multifaceted approach to techniques and applications.

Scale, proportion, and perspective, are integral to my work. My mind is my inspiration, a universal sketchbook, which becomes the catalyst for my artistic creations.

You can bring: We provide a selection of basic art materials, and you are welcome to bring your own: Your sketchbook, canvas, paper, or choice of media to continue with your latest work-inprogress, or to start a fresh project.

Your electronic devices if you are using digital media; Laptops, tablets, and phones, as power and public Wi-Fi is available.

Pens, pencils, pastels, ink, fine liners, paint pens, markers. You could also bring collage materials, quick dry silk clay or paints (not oils).

Please be mindful of allowing adequate drying time and portability, as all artists are responsible for taking their artworks and materials with them at the end of each session. There is no storage for artworks at the library Art materials that are not volatile, corrosive, or hazardous.

Accessibility The group is in a wheelchair accessible room in Bournemouth Library on the second floor The venue has one main entrance with double automatic doors into the lower ground foyer.

The covered entrance to the library is at street level, with ramped and drop-kerb access from the street and the Triangle which is a pedestrianised area.

There are two lifts to all floors Toilets are located on the first floor opposite the room the group is in. They are fully accessible and gender-neutral, with baby-changing facilities.

You are welcome to bring PAs/carers, just let Beth know in advance to reserve a space There are three dedicated disabled parking bays outside the library which are limited to a first come first serve basis.

Assistance animals are welcome We can provide BSL interpretation on request We are always open to questions and feedback on accessibility If you require additional access support for the session, please let Beth know (beth.hopkins@outsidein.org.uk).

Planning your visit Location: Bournemouth Library, 22 The Triangle, Bournemouth, BH2 5RQ

By Bus: Buses M1 & M2 both stop at Poole Hill, Triangle arriving from Poole, Bournemouth Rail Station, and the town centre, then a 2-minute walk from Poole Hill to the Library.

By Train: From Bournemouth Railway Station, it is recommended to get the M1 Bus to Poole Hill, Triangle.

By Car: The Library is a short walk from the nearest multi storey car park which is located adjacent to the Library.

By Bicycle: There are storage racks by the main entrance.

Comfort and Safety We aim to create a relaxed, welcoming and supportive environment.

We expect all participants to be respectful and kind to one another.

Drinks and Food Complimentary tea, coffees and biscuits are provided.

You are welcome to bring your own snacks too.
