Letter from the Editor Bello
While our summer looks nothing like a typical summer here in Los Angeles, en Rubinstein at our new location. Let me tell you, moving a business in the middle of a pandemic/lockdown, was a blessing and a challenge.When we realized that the new normal would not allow us to function properly in a high-rise, we packed our (too many) bags and move to a new dream location. Tucked in the Hollywood Hills just off Sunset Boulevard and next to Chateau Marmont, we are now able to have our own outdoor space allowing us to do photoshoots with a very limited crew on our sets. Masks, gloves, hand sanitizer … are a small burden to carry to keep everyone safe and creative. We are so happy to have both Madison and Ronen on this month’s covers. We have enjoyed the first season of 911 Lone Stars so much, and Ronen plays our favorite character. On the other hand Outer Banks was one of the most popular Netflix series past few months. We have binge watched over a single weekend, and we are so excited for season 2 already. The upcoming months will still be challenging for us(and everyone around the world), as our entire team keeps working from home for the most part. Because distance is the new normal, we have welcomed a new team member, Ana Krbanjevic, who is joining the BELLO team all the way from Belgrade Serbia as graphic designer. Dobrodošli u ekipu ana! RONEN RUBINSTEIN Starring in 9-1-1: Lone Star, Ronen Rubinstein is making his mark in the industry. It was during his Junior Year of High School that his path as an actor became apparent and since then, he has been working his way to the top. As he brings joy and entertainment through television, the talented actor also has bigger plans in mind. As his platform grows bigger, he is using it to his advantage to bring more awareness to saving the “Planet, the Humans and Animals on it.” Being an actor is more than just getting in front of the camera and making good television…. and that is exactly what he is doing. Using his voice for something bigger than all of us, Ronen Rubinstein brings talent, purpose and a big heart to the table; a little something we can all learn from! Here at BELLO, we look forward to seeing what he does next so stay tuned!
Tell us more about your experiences on television. What has been your favorite project so far and why?
If you could work alongside any actor/actress, who would it be and why?
I’ve been pretty damn fortunate from the beginning of my career. My first Television appearance was on the revolutionary show Orange Is The New Black. I played the sweet and kind Nathan in Pennsatucky’s flashback in Season 3 Episode 10. Shortly after, I starred in my first series regular role on Dead Of Summer. It released on Freeform in 2016 for only one Season. And currently, 911 Lone Star is my biggest and favorite project of my career so far. Ryan Murphy, FOX, Rob Lowe, Liv Tyler. What else do I need to say! (Laughing)
BRAD. PITT. I’ve looked up to his work since I was a kid. His variety of characters is pretty exceptional.
On set of 9-1-1: Lone Star, what was an obstacle you had to overcome and how did you do so? I think the biggest obstacle was maintaining physical and mental stamina. Somedays we would start shooting at 6pm and finish at 8am the next day. A lot of the times the circumstances are really difficult both on our bodies and minds. But honestly, I enjoy the difficult times. They build you up to be a super durable Actor and Person all around. When you were younger, did you always want to become an actor? What was your favorite tv show growing up? I didn’t know I wanted to be an actor until I was thrown into it during my Junior Year of High School. However, I grew up watching as many films as I could. My favorite TV show growing up were shows like Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Lost and Prison Break. To this day, Season 1 of True Detective is my favorite TV Show so far. This business can be tough. What do you do to stay connected to the “real” world when you are not on set?
As an actor, what is your most important goal? To save the Planet, the Humans and Animals on it. This has been my goal for a few years now. The larger the projects and the larger my platform grows, the more I can do to help out. Simple as that. During quarantine, did you tackle any new hobbies? I’ve actually been testing out making music. That’s kept my creative side alive. How did the quarantine have a positive impact on your life? It made me the most open and accessible as a human and “Celebrity.” I’ve taken this time to help others in whatever way I can. We can achieve anything when we come together for the greater good. It’s 10 years from now. You’re sitting at the top of a mountain overlooking a beautiful view. Where are you at in life? Hopefully my Partner, my kids and my dogs are sitting next to me. We look out at the world and say “Wow, that is some beautiful non-polluted fresh air” (laughs) Share with us something most people do not know about you. Hmmm… maybe next time.
I’m really close with my friends and family. I have an incredible support system. Also, staying connected to my fans and helping out wherever I can helps A LOT. Making myself available and a beacon of hope and positivity has kept me super connected to the “Real World” for years now. What kind of genres are you interested in being in?
What can your fans expect next? Well, fortunately, we have Season 2 of Lone Star coming out early 2021. I also have two films coming out this fall that I am super proud of coming out. HOPEFULLY in theatre’s if it is safe. Other than that, I have some huge news about a couple of Ocean Conservation partnerships I’m proud to announce. All good things!
Drama, Drama, Drama. I’m always down to do any genre honestly. But I always lean towards Dramas.

MADISON BAILEY: OVERCOMING HER FEARS AND THRIVING People say that when you do something you love you never work a day in your life. But the true beauty of it all is when we can achieve that goal and that is exactly what Madison Bailey has done. “Acting is my passion. I’m genuinely happy on set,” shared the talented and beautiful actress. Laughingly she shared, “I would do it all for free!” Now that is called passion and true love of one’s job. Everyday of hard work is met with a sense of fulfillment and continuous joy.

Starring on the renowned Netflix series, OUTER BANKS, she was immediately attracted to the role of “Kiara.” How could she not? Drawn to her character as a whole, Bailey took this character very personally. As she put it, “she was so many things that needed to be represented for young girls.” Strong, fierce, smart, and determined. With everything going on in the world, it is crucial to show young teens and adults the kind and smart way to look at things. When a series can have that positive effect, the actors make it real, and Bailey’s contribution and talent show. “It’s given me so much fulfillment. I couldn’t be more proud of the project and energy we put out,” she shared. Already anticipating Season 2, Bailey is eager to get back to work with the incredible cast and crew! The first day on set didn’t feel like the first day, “it felt like we were a month in.” Everything came naturally, the rhythm and the connection were smooth and as she explained, “the chemistry was there.” Looking back on the photos and videos of that first week, for the young actress, it felt as if they had all known each other for years. OUTER BANKS gave Bailey a new perspective on acting and being on set. Compared to other sets she has been on, this experience showed her that she could loosen up as it was an extremely relaxed set. Amazed, she shared “I had more say than I had ever been given. It was all pretty new.” That kind of fluidity can be challenging at times when you are working with a whole cast and crew which is what makes this experience all the more special and beautiful! With beauty and success also comes a sense of pressure and underlining fear...we are all human after all! For Bailey, “a big fear for me is feeling like I’m not good enough.” Still working hard to overcome it fully, being on such a successful show where her talent is recognized has helped the actress enormously. She opened up about it with us and as she put it, “It makes you feel like you have the freedom to care a little less and gives you more room to be yourself.” An important lesson we can all benefit from! Society has put this pressure on all of us to sometimes

be people we think others want us to be when in fact, all it takes is being yourself and surrounded by the right people. On set just like in her family life, Bailey is blessed to be surrounded by such amazing people. Being the youngest, “a true little sister,” she also is a support system for her loved ones. “I take care of my dad. He’s my best friend. I think some of my older siblings look up to me,” she shared with love. Moreover, she is an auntie of six who she loves more than anything else! “I’m a homebody through and through. I wouldn’t be anywhere close to where I am now if it wasn’t for every single one of them.” When Bailey isn’t on set or with her family, her day is pretty filled up regardless! Of course with quarantine that changed things up but she has at least one work-related thing every day. When that’s done, she spends time with her girlfriend on facetime “all day every day so much so that we sleep on FaceTime together.” Her best friend Hunter and her see each other every day, “genuinely never go 24 hours without her,” where they spend their time “hiking, cook together, walk around or just hanging out in the back yard and getting some sun.” I would say that is a beautifully balanced lifestyle! " Madison Bailey represents determination, love, beauty, talent, and balance as she gets up in the morning and conquers her fears one day at a time. Surrounded by beautiful people, she is able to transfer that energy into her work and own life as she builds herself a little more every day. Aiming to diversity her resume, Bailey would love to work on different types of projects…. “I want people to see me in one movie and be shocked when they see me in the next one.” There is no stopping this wild spirit so keep an eye out world because Madison Bailey is just getting started.

GAVIN LEWIS: A PLATFORM WITH PURPOSE Everything gets a little brighter when Taylor John Smith steps into a room or onto set. His smile will shift a room's energy and his talent wows his audience every time. Being on OUTPOST has taught him a lot and left him with some beautiful and memories he will always keep. Taylor John Smith is truly a breath of fresh air in the entertainment industry as his talent and kindness merge. Remaining true to himself, the talented actor is definitely on the rise and someone to look out for!
What are some valuable lessons, as an actor, that you learned while on set of THE OUTPOST? Probably that you are not “just an Actor” on set. You are also a confidant, a therapist, a wingman, an extra pair of helping hands. My job doesn’t end when Rod (the director) says cut. Filmmaking is a team sport so always be ready to be a team player for those around you, especially when the camera stops rolling. Share with us a very funny moment on set of this project. Who was there? What happened?
What was it like being placed him on Variety's 10 Actors to Watch, after playing in HBO’s “Sharp Objects?” It was unexpected and awesome. I was honored to be recognized alongside such amazing and talented actors. Do you recall an obstacle you had to face on set? How did you overcome it?
One night after we finished filming, Jack Kalian and I went to play some pool at a billiards bar. Turns out the locals didn’t like losing, so we had to get out of there pretty fast. Jack and I ended up having to run three miles back to our hotel at an ungodly hour. Thank you Jack for covering my 6.
My first film I starred in ‘WOLVES’ was a crash course of the best kind for sure. During the audition process, I lied aggressively to the director Bart Freundlich about my abilities on the court because I was so obsessed with the character and the script. But eventually, Bart caught wind of it and I had to face the music and I was rewarded with a two month grueling training camp to learn how to play basketball for the film. Thank you for taking a chance on me, Bart. I’m forever grateful.
You have starred in other films. How do you get into a different role each time? What would you say is your technique while rehearsing your lines?
Tell us more about your family growing up. What role have they played in helping you pursue your career as an actor?
It all depends on the character I’m playing, how much time I have to prep, and my prior knowledge (if any) of the world my character lives in. I record all the other characters lines on my voice notes app on my phone, and I leave time/room for me to say my lines. I play that back over and over until I have everything memorized including the other actors lines. That way when I show up to work I can be confident, knowing I have it all down and can now focus on being present, in the moment, in the scene.
My mom always told me I could do anything I wanted, as long as I didn’t half-ass it. So when it came to acting she told me to quit one of the jobs I was working so I could actually make it to the auditions I kept having to pass on due to my day job. Everyone needs a Momma Smith in their life.

Share with us a childhood memory that had a strong impact on who you are today. I got beat up one time in 7th grade for sticking up for a girl who was tripped by some punk kid as she was getting onto the school bus. Sometimes doing the right thing isn’t going to feel good. But do it anyway. What do you believe is the best way to show someone you love them? I think when you tell someone you love that you are going to do something. do it. When you give someone your word, like “if you need help moving this weekend, I got you” or you tell someone “if you ever get stranded on the side of the road, call me I’ll be there”- you better do it. Faith without works is dead. The same goes for love. If you could invent anything: what would it be?

It would probably be called “Subtitles for Dogs” or something. A device that lets you know what dog’s are saying when they bark. Where do you see yourself 10 years from now? A lot can happen in 10 years, but I hope I’ve become more of the man my future kids and wife will be proud of. I hope to still be telling great stories and impacting people in a positive way. Maybe living on a ranch somewhere in Nashville or Texas enjoying however much time I have left.
