The beauty of a Cheese Board is the fact that you can customise it to your (or your guests’) liking. We used a mixture of textures and flavours for our cheese tree…

For the Star on top… Garstang White (Lancashire’s take on a delicious Brie)

For the Tree… Cut into cubes For the Garnish… Creamy Lancashire (mild & milky) We used grapes, pretzels and figs, Tasty Lancashire (mature & tangy) but you can use anything you like! Wensleydale & Cranberry (crumbly cheese Dried fruit, nuts, pickles, fresh fruit complimented with sweet cranberries) and cured meat are all great options. Roquito (cheddar with a nice kick of chilli) Red Leicester (mild flavour with a hint of burnt caramel)

Danielle would like to dedicate this to her Dad, a Lancashire dairy farmer who’s milk is used in the production of Butlers Lancashire Cheese. He has been working like a trooper and deserves the recognition!

A taste of San Sebastián right in the heart of Prсton…

Immerse yourself in Spanish flavours and music

Bar Pintxos made its Preston debut this Summer, opening its doors on the Flag Market in Preston City centre and everyone is talking about it.

Anthony Smith, a local entrepreneur, recently dusted off his chef whites and is now hosting the 110 cover bar and restaurant bringing a taste of the food-obsessed Basque region to the north west. The culinary creations, Pintxos, are often served on skewers and diners can choose a selection from the servery and then hand the sticks to the server to pay their bill. Anthony Smith said: “San Sebastian is a place that is all about great food and drinks and having a good time. I love everything about the way of eating, the Pintxos presentation and the hospitality. I’ve put my heart and soul into this venue and can’t wait for people to come and get a taste of the region’s food and drinks. We have some exclusive suppliers on the bar side so you’ll be able to sip the sunshine as you dine.”

As well as a varied selection of hot and cold pinxtos, Bar Pintxos serves a selection of Spanish beer and wines and is a great place to pop in whether it’s for lunch, after work dinner and drinks or a night on the town.
