Bears don’t hibernate in Florida. They lurk in alleys, waiting for a party. That party is upon us. Eagle Wilton Manors is hosting the inaugural Bears In the Alley Tropical Weekend on March 9-12, 2023. The four day weekend is packed with two pool parties, three dance parties, a day at the beach, and a street fair.

“The idea started with the incredibly successful Street Fair last year, which is part of the 4 day weekend this year,” Eagle’s Chuck King told OutClique . He expects it to be a packed party. “Last year, we were hoping to hit 800 guests, and we had more than double that at the fair, so we expect attendance to exceed that even more. “

The weekend kicks off Thursday, March 9, with a VIP welcome pool party at Solstice at Wilton, followed by the kick off party at Eagle with guest DJ Chi Chi LaRue. Friday is the beach party at Birch State Park on Fort Lauderdale Beach with Ignite Dance Party that night at Scandals Saloon with DJ Jamey Boozer.

Saturday is Bears In the Alley Street Fair in the parking lot behind Eagle. Superstar Drag Queen Ginger Minj will host the afternoon of food, vendors, and special performances. After the street fair, people can move inside Eagle for their Back Alley Dance Party.

The weekend wraps up Sunday with the closing pool party at Ed Lugo Resort and DJ Alex Ramos providing the beats.

King is excited for the weekend, and says an event like this in our area is much needed and long overdue. “I am really proud of the participating locations. We are finally going to have a real bear-type week here, and we have been working very hard to make this happen.”

Eventually, King and his crew plan to grow this into a week-long event. For this year, he’s excited about one event in particular. “Personally I'm looking forward to the Street Fair again, the awesome DJ's that we have lined up and the Beach Party. There is something for everyone, and I promise that everyone will have an amazing time!”

King says events like this are right in his wheelhouse. “I have been producing bear events and leather events for well over a decade, and I assure you this will be incredibly fun and different from the rest.”

Tickets start at $109. VIP packages are available and include no lines, open bar at two events, private VIP areas at select events, plus complimentary admission with two extra events. Ala-Carte tickets are also available.
