Miguel Avataneo
Argentinian painter, Miguel Angel Avataneo, was born in the province of Cordoba, Argentina and his love of the pure form of classicism was nourished by his early interest in the Italian masters. He was also greatly influenced by the late eighteenth century French paintings of David, Gustave Courbet and Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres. Building on the discipline it gave him, he has created a world of pictorial imagery entirely his own.

David Freeman
David Freeman was born in Calcutta, India, in 1961, and moved to Britain in 1978. After graduating college in 1981, he set up his own studio in London. The treatment of his subjects shows a deep understanding of the classical realist tradition. His use of light and darkness is a contemporary version of the Baroque chiaroscuro. Godfrey Sipho Ndaba was born in 1947 in Soweto, Johannesburg and has lived in Soweto all his life. His fascination with art came from an early age as every time it rained he would draw faces in the wet soil. Painting became an obsession as Godfrey made portraits of all his family and friends - the artistic flair expanding into sculpture as he formed images of cattle and people from clay dug out of the river.

Larry Scully
Laurence Vincent Scully (known as Larry Scully) was born in Gibraltar on 12 December 1922. spent most of his youth in Portsmouth, England. The family was very poor and he left school and home at about 13 years of age to go to work in a grocery shop in order to help to support his family. When he was 15, the family moved to South Africa. During 1950s and 1960s Scully defined his style.
An excellent still-life artist and landscape painter, Scully also searched for new forms, experimenting with shapes and textures inspired by African masks, but finally finding in abstract art a passion

Anora Spence
Born in 1963, Annora initially studied printed textiles at Liverpool Polytechnic and the artist continued her education in the 1980s, by completing a master’s degree in the same subject at Birmingham Polytechnic. In 1994 she started producing limited edition Silkscreen prints and each new edition invariably completely ‘sold out’ within record time. Annora also went on to create etchings and even a bronze sculpture! Humour has always been an important ingredient in her work and the artist tries to accomplish this through the figurative form itself, manipulation of images & characters, and the development of a story around them.
