Issue 8
July 2018
We've become a nation of coffee lovers and, in many cases, pedants even.
Regular folk know the type of coffee they want, where they want to get it, and probably which beans and barista to boot. Small, quality roasters run the length of New Zealand, each supported by a dedicated fan base. And a visit to the Northern Hemisphere is usually a jarring reminder of just how discerning we caffeine consumers are in the Antipodes.
And sure, there are still too many dud brews being passed across counters, but we'll bet you a goat's milk, half-strength, hazelnut-shot latte that there won't be any of that nonsense at the Tauranga Coffee Festival this month. This issue we go behind the scenes to meet some of the personalities who will be showcasing their excellent wares on the day.
Keep cosy,
The Our Place Team.
