Our Land. Our Tables. Founded in 2018, the Northeast Indiana Local Food Network supports the growth of a vibrant local food marketplace across Northeast Indiana. We help to grow and connect the local food economy across our 11 county region by increasing the visibility and economic opportunities for our region’s local food producers and businesses.

We created Local Food Week in 2020 as a way for families and farmers to connect around the food they both love. Hundreds of local families now participate each year! 2022 Local Food Week features 30 different tours & events hosted by farms, markets, artisan food producers and organizations. Come learn where our local food comes from, meet the folks who produce it, and taste the bounty that comes from Our Land to Our Tables.

Myron will discuss the farm’s use of compost, tillage practices and insect resistance techniques. The tour will include time in the hoop houses and green house used to grow vegetables even during the winter months. Farm Tours will be guided rain or shine, so dress for the weather and wear shoes to walk among the garden beds. Berry Hill Farm Wholesome food for wellness minded people. Berry Hill Farm began in 2003 with one acre of blueberries. Our focus at that point was to be engaged in a family friendly activity. We soon realized that a great benefit was the interaction with our customers. While it is essential in any business to make enough profit to pay the bills and provide a living wage for those involved, we have found great fulfillment in bringing good food to people who appreciate it. In the past, we have been USDA Certified Organic, however through customer feedback and a careful evaluation of our biological approach to plant and soil health, we made the difficult decision to not certify organic, but instead apply that time and energy toward plant and soil care. Our guiding principles teach us to nurture the soil biology in ways that sequester carbon, preserve soil nutrition and cultivate plants that will produce delicious fruits and veggies that are deeply nutritious. Through the use of greenhouses, winter covers and storage facilities we are able to keep fresh produce available twelve months of the year.

We are a fourth-generation family farm outside of North Manchester, Indiana. We rotate cattle, hogs, poultry, field crops, and produce around our 99-acres using a whole-systems approach, and market our products through Community Supported Agriculture, an online store, and to restaurants. The farm also hosts weekly pizza nights during the summer. We use the health and wholeness of soils, waters, plants, animals, and people as the standard by which we farm. One of the reasons we love CSA is that it gives us the opportunity to see members face-to-face, during which we’re more than happy to talk your ear off about soil health, cover cropping, minimum tillage techniques, crop rotations, raising animals on pasture, and other practices we use.

We have several philosophies when it comes to food and our business. 1. We source everything as locally as possible. This isn’t possible for all foods, but with only a few exceptions, we do as good a job or better than anyone else in the area. 2. It is important that we know our farms and farmers, so we know the story of our food. 3. We make everything in house as much as we can, so we know what exactly what is in all of our food that we serve to our customers. 4. We use the seasons to dictate our menu. We meet with our proprietary farmer to plan out harvests. Then, we write menus based off of what is fresh and coming in from the farm. 5. We are proud to be a safe space for our guests and staff.

Windrose Urban Farm is a 501c3 non-profit that creates opportunities within our community for individuals with special needs to grow their careers and cultivate their tomorrows. We do this through our urban farm in downtown Fort Wayne, Indiana. We have an indoor growing operation for specialty gourmet mushrooms. We also have an outdoor growing operation that supplies vegetables to our value added side of the business where our kitchen crew creates fabulous ferments such as kimchi, hot pepper sauces and sauerkraut. We supply local restaurants, and retailers as well as selling our goods at farmers markets and events.

Dirt Wain www.dirtwain.com

We offer food scrap and yard waste composting for households and businesses in the greater Fort Wayne area. We keep food scraps out of the landfill where they become methane gas—an accelerant contributing to climate breakdown. Composting reclaims nutrients and puts them back in circulation in the communities where food scraps are generated.
