Bringing You Home
Hometown living…many ideas come to mind when those words are uttered. One of those ideas is that of spending hours on a porch, watching the day either just beginning or just ending as the sun upon the horizon projects the varying colors. With the hills of Coryell County as the canvas, Kandi Luensmann saw her vision of Front Porch Realty one evening while rocking on one of those said porches.

While growing up she watched her mother closely, and saw the importance of hard work. Her mother, the office manager for a local construction company for many years, always made it very clear that showing up, being reliable, and working hard was the key to not only longevity but also success. Kandi, to this day, credits her mother for a lot, and seeing that strong woman with a strong work ethic made a profound effect upon her, showing her that success isalways within reach with hard work and determination.
Born and raised in Coryell County and a 1992 graduate of Gatesville High School, Kandi spent much of her formative years unknowingly preparing for her future in real estate simply by traversing her own back yard. Her familiarity to the area is able to offer insight and a hometown feel to her clients’ experiences. She is not only selling a piece of realty, but also a piece of her own loved community.
Real estate was not always the goal for Kandi. After graduating from Texas A&M University in 1996, Kandi spent time in pharmaceutical sales and as a high school Chemistry teacher. During this time, she was honing her interpersonal skills that would follow her into the real estate world. Connecting with her different clients and the children she was teaching, would be invaluable to her later business. Nothing is ever for naught, and Kandi knew just that! Those experiences were constantly molding her interpersonal skills and learning how to relate to people of all ages and lifestyles.
When she decided upon that porch that evening that real estate was what her future calling was, Kandi was firmly determined that nothing would stand in her way. She dove head first obtaining her real estate license in 2013. Always reaching, Kandi knew her education would not stop there! She was a 2014 graduate ofREALTOR Institute (GRI) and a graduate of the 2016 class of Texas Realtors Leadership Program (TRLP). In 2017, she went on to obtain her brokerage license, allowing her to open her own real estate venture,Front Porch Realty in July of that same year.
Being a local meant having local dreams, and in 2018 Kandi was able to fulfill one of those dreams of owning her own building on Main Street in Gatesville, the Coryell seat, to house her new company! The main street building Kandi purchased was Edwards-Balch Real Estate in the1970s and has been restored to its old glory days whilst keeping the old fireplace and original hardwood floors. An old real estate businesshousing a new real estate business seemed appropriate, and it was important to Kandi to preserve that part of Gatesville’s history. Herlove for the community has created a desire to restore the square and different neighboring buildings among the community. The purchase of herown building helps to further that goal.
Continuing to be involved is essential to the growing business Kandi Luensmann has set up. “I am passionate about filling a need and getting involved,” she says. She is a member of the Fort Hood Area Association of Realtors, the past secretary and current president elect, taking office January 1, 2021 for a two year term. Kandi doesn’t stop there as she is also the current chair of the TREPAC committee, Texas REAL- TORS: member of the state Professional Standards Committee and the Risk Reduction Committee.
The same passion and hard work Kandi has in her own life, she has made sure it is important to instill those same values into her children, Braden, a sophomore at Tarleton State University, and Hailey, a junior at Gatesville High School. From a young age she was always teaching them to be independent and work hard always, just as she herself learned from her own mother.
Being a Coryell County native is extremely important to Kandi Luensmann. She is a founding and current committee member and past ambassador of the Coryell County Area Go Texan Committee. Since 2013, they have raised over one hundred thousand dollars for Coryell County graduating seniors. She is currently a serving Gatesville Chamber of Commerce member, Coryell County Economic Development board member and the past president of the Coryell County A&M Club. “I believe in giving back with time, donations or anything with the school,” explained Kandi.
Knowing the importance and enormity of the purchase or sell of a home for her clients is not lost on Kandi. “At the end of the day, I work for a living but buying a home is the biggest purchase for someone to make, to take the transaction from beginning to end with a smile is the most important thing,” she says.
It’s that philosophy that drives Front Porch Realty, which is a team of local real estate experts, ready to guide you through the process of buying or selling your home, land or commercial property in the Gatesville area. The team consists of Kandi, Kay Hunt, Teresa Johnson and Andy James. “Teresa has been here from the start. Kay has been with me for about two years and Andy for about eighteen months.” It’s a true team atmosphere, which only adds to their drive and success.
