The company whilst only established in July 2020 during a global pandemic, Leona has been in business for years and in the online space for over 6 years which has helped her grow her connections networking and build the community and following she has.

Some Leona's incredible work Leona has partnered with Hopeful Handbags recently have raised enough monies to provide several water tanks to communities in Kenya to allow the areas to have fresh running water, a basic need, one being a school.

Her community of over 70,000 global members that have their own busineses love and utilise the informal, supportive networking events that help with getting SEEN and heard.

Holo & Leona have a chat 1. Hey Leona how are you and where are you right now?

Great thank you. Currently in Spain about to travel to the US. Global expansion for MIB International is always on the agenda and then several projects including a brand new social media platform and helping Moodbears impact millions of people globally.

Alongside my philosophy work with Hopefull Handbags and the never alone project. Two very important charities doing great work.?

2. Tell us about where it all began for you?

It all began six plus years ago when I was running around like a headless lost chicken.

There were few places to network and none for mums to take their children. So we created one, fast forward six years we’ve had tens of thousands of attendees and I’ve trained over a million people.

3. What's this year looking like? What you up to?

This year is full of speaking events, travel and time with the family. All of my favorite things.

4. Where do you hope to travel this year? Its amazing following your page and seeing where you are. Will you settle anywhere in particular in the future do you think?

Traveling to the US a couple of times, europe and potentially Asia. Who knows!

5. How do you find a work/life balance? What's your advice to other mums Honestly work life balance is never easy. I do what I think is best for me and mine and that’s what I recommend to other mums. Stop beating yourself up for feeling like you’ve not got it right. You’re doing your best right now.

6. What do you think will be the top businesses of 2023?

Top businesses for 2023? Honestly most things digital! Our high street is struggling and it will continue to do so with the advancements in tech. Innovation is crucial for survival in 2023.

7. Let's talk confidence, your incredible on social media. How do you combat anxieties, confidence issues of putting yourself out there or even online bullying/negativity?

Online bullying is very real however I always say, surround yourself with those who just get you. Those who are your friends away from the online world. Go outside, meet humans in real life. Understand that the majority of bullies online are deploy unhappy humans.

8. Tell us your something no one else knows?

I can say the French alphabet in about 10 seconds. Haha.

9. Your top 5 business tips?

Be humble Be grateful Be human Be mission focused Have your vision in your mind for your best life- daily 10. How many businesses are you involved with at moment/people you working closely with?

Too many to mention and lots of NDAS..keep your eyes peeled.

11. Your family are all talented individuals and have your entrepreneurial spirit. What's everyone up too at moment?

Everybody has their thing and I’m super proud of them. Kyes off to Thailand whilst he continues to grow get savvy for business and Enna is growing from strength to strength with her makeup.

12. Tells us about your services, how people can work with you? Price range, info etc we know so many would love to work with you.

Honestly there is so much but I want to tell you to get out there and show the world what you’re made of. Life is meant to be for living, embrace it and make it everything you desire!

MEET THE AUTHOR 1. Who are you Delilah? Tell us about you?

I am a mum to two young children, and have adapted my lifestyle to fitting around being a working, stay at home mum. I love all things nature and creativity which you will see if you read The Globe - Dragonback Peaks! One of my favourite things to do is spend time creating whether it be a magical land in writing, or a painting on a canvas. I also enjoy baking, and share the love with my children.

2. What is your book about?

The Globe - Dragonback Peaks is a story about four young teenagers, who discover a magical land inside an antique globe that had been given as a gift. The four children all have their very different, yet wonderfully compatible traits and we follow them as they meet otherworldly creatures, learn important lessons and discover the meaning of the lands name all whilst being whisked along on a wild adventure.

3. What inspires you to write?

I have many passions and writing is one that I've had since childhood. I enjoy digging into my imagination and seeing where it takes me, and often only loosely plot a story as I like the freedom of typing it as it comes to me. It is only when editing that I come back to make sure it all knits together neatly, this part is just as fun!

4. What else do you have planned?

My goal with The Globe is to make it a series, and each land will have something different and another big adventure. My next book is currently in the process of being thought through before I sit and write it all down.

5. Do you suffer writers block? if so how do you overcome it?

I do, the best way for me to overcome writers block is by stepping away completely and doing something else. Even if it is writing down ideas for another story, painting, baking or having a creative break to avoid burnout.

6. We heard from your marketing manager that you are a skydiver, please tell us more!

I am! I discovered the sport back in 2013 when I was gifted a tandem jump for my 21st birthday, and I just knew that I wanted more. I worked in a finance house at the time and saved up all my holiday and overtime, and took myself off to do the accelerated freefall course and got my license. Skydiving gave me a whole new life and perspective and even resulted in moving to Spain for 7 years with my partner! I have just over 400 jumps and with two children it is harder to find the time, so I go as and when we feel like it and it is possible.

7. Would you love to see your books turned into a Film or tv series?

I would love to see The Globe - Dragonback Peaks as a series, as there is so much going on it would make too long of a film if you didn't cut out alot of the story. It would make for great family viewing as there is something for all ages in it.

8. Tell us anything and everything you wish to share to the world.

9. How do you balance work, life, love, children, and more work!?

The balance comes from recognising when I am burning the candle at both ends and stepping back from one or more tasks.

My partner has a great eye for it and points it out when I miss it. It is just about making time for all things, whether it be a short window or long, but remembering no one thing is a priority - as it all needs to be working for each element of my life to be functioning well! The children are often with me when I am writing or painting, and all of my work is from home so it makes it easier. I am very lucky with the life we have forged.

Holo Magazine have had the pleasure to chat and get to know this incredible author, and we cannot speak of her highly enough. Delilah has a kind, a peaceful, calming nature which is wonderfully inspiring. The book is the start of something special, and we cannot wait to see more.

REAL STORY

#Autism

The education system for Autistic Children is floored to say the least, it's actually pretty awful and the support is hard to find. I share the story, my story because myself, my husband, my child and family have all had to endure and continue to as I type this a painful experience.

My daughter will be 6 in under a month, 6 years old and still we are fighting the educational board to get her a placement, a placement in a special school because that is what she needs and deserves but instead of giving her one, we have to dance to a silly tune of educational politics, Bulls**t to say it bluntly. She had her EHCP, she was awarded for her education one of the highest tiers of funding but that apparently doesn't mean she needs a special school, apparently your local school can be given said funding as they can accommodate, well they cannot, its no disrespect to mainstream schools but they are mainstream and they do not have the staff, experience or facilities for a child with Autism or complex needs.

But it's ok, you take the funding and we will wait on the sideline and watch our child suffer a little more, let her frustrations grow and get left behind, and I love being made to feel guilty all the the time, like your F**k ups are mine!! Wheres the funding going?

New roof or possibly new playground equipment? The choices!! I am sorry to type so sarcastically or bluntly but the frustration as a parent is relentless.

Having a child with any complex needs is not easy, our daughter as Autism and Global Development Delay, she has language delays, she prefers isolated play, she likes routine, beige food and simple menu, she still wears nappies, and now had begun head butting, every day as a parent we are learning and some days you struggle but you get on with it and you keep fighting. The sad thing is why should we have to fight so hard for a school placement, something deserving and rightfully there for a child with such needs.

Do you not think we would love to see our daughter at our local mainstream school?

Do you not think we have a hard enough time?

Do you honestly believe our fight is because we like being stubborn or awkward?

My advice to any parent going through some ordeal is, keep fighting, do not be pushed in the corner by a Karen who pretends to care, listen, take things on board but never stop fighting for whats right. You have rights, your child has rights and whoever shouts loudest will get heard.

Here at Holo we think they are a brilliant idea for non-verbal children, it gives them a fun way to signal how they are feeling or have something they can relate to, feel safe with.

Genna is a incredible MUA who started her journey as a blogger/influencer on social media. She done videos/tutorials showing people transformations using different products. And trust us this girl has talent!

Her audience grew fast and now she is well known and recently launched her own Makeup line. She works hard, and doesn't let anyone tell her no! Fierce and has makeup to match, we would kill for her brows!

I’m a mum of 3, (most of the time I haven’t had chance to straighten my hair or drink a hot cup of tea) trying to juggle life as we all are and failing some of the time, but try and see my glass as half full!
