Bergeron Rodeo

or more than 40 years, the Bergeron Rodeo Grounds has been Davie’s main tourist attraction, so it is only natural that it was named Best Local Landmark. The indoor/outdoor facility is located in the historical western-theme downtown district. It is home to the Davie Pro Rodeo tour, where visitors can come dressed in cowboy boots and hats to watch some real cowboys try their best to hang onto a bull. The arena was recently expanded to fit the more versatile needs of the Davie community. It is now also used for top name concert entertainers and family events that include monster trucks, horse shows, dog shows, car shows, air boat shows, specialty shows, industrial shows and more. There is always something happening at the Bergeron Rodeo Grounds.

The Old Davie School

he Old Davie School, designed by August Geiger, is the oldest existing school building in Broward County. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It opened its doors in 1918 to 90 students and quickly became the center of community life in Davie, with dances and box suppers, community plays, social functions, political rallies, elections and more. It was in continuous use as a school until 1980. It is now a museum, which preserves the history and culture of Davie and western Broward County and provides many hands-on experiences for visitors. It is also host to many public programs and events. They include “Step Back in Time,” an interactive school tour program, as well as annual heritage celebrations like the Pioneer Dinner, Women’s History Tea and Old Davie Christmas.
