There is one day each year when everyone is Irish, and downtown Hollywood is transformed into a sea of green. A huge crowd filled the downtown area as floats rolled by, and bands began to play. This year’s highlight was the famous New York City Police Department’s Emerald Society Pipe and Drum Corps. The group has become a fixture at the festivities.

Floats began to roll down Hollywood Boulevard at 1:00 pm with live music and dancing all afternoon and late into the night. Area businesses opened their doors to local families and tourists from as far as Ireland. The family-friendly nature of the Hollywood festival makes it incredibly invit ing. We can’t wait for March 13th, 2023!

The Hollywood Boardwalk got a taste of the North Pole on December 7th. Dozens of floats, fire trucks, marching bands and more drove by as thousands of little ones looked on hoping to catch some candy!

The evening parade along the beach is really one-of-a-kind. Marchers threw tons of candy and treats to onlooking little ones while they smiled and waved. The event organizers saved the biggest and best for last, of course, as Santa even made an appearance. It’s not too long till its that time of year again!

Greetings to all the readers of Our City Hollywood. This edition of Our City is particularly exciting. Throughout the publication are write-ups about all the small and large businesses that readers chose as the “Best of Hollywood,” and it’s always fun to recognize businesses that we love. With over 32 years of experience performing pancreatic surgery in south Florida, Dr Donoway recognized that because of late diagnosis, up to 85% of patients treated for pancreatic cancer already had metastatic disease at the time of diagnosis. Recent evidence shows that when even advanced disease is treated aggressively in an integrated approach, incorporating NanoKnife surgery with chemotherapy and now supplemented with immunotherapy, long-term survivorship can be achieved, especially when compared to chemotherapy alone.
