Our Pets
What a response! We received more pet photos than ever before for this year's Our Broomfield Pet photo contest! Hundreds! The decisions were tough. Throughout this issue you will see many of our favorites including our first ever llama and horse! I always dust off the photo of my own favorite, Ollie, for this issue. That's him in the photo with me above. The most beautiful, loyal, sweet black lab you ever met! But I think that is what we all think about our own pet - that they are the best.

It's fall ya'll. I know this is a favorite time of year for many. The warmth and richness of the colors, smells, and tastes of autumn help build anticipation for the holidays to come. This month we preview some of the great local events of the season, offer places to get a last look at fall leaves, and share some pumpkin recipes to warm you - including a tasty treat for your pup.
I am excited to announce the "premiere" of a new column written by my sister, Andrea Wallace, that we have dubbed Suburban Farm to Table. This year she and her husband transformed their Broomfield yard to include gorgeous and plentiful garden beds! The solution is so creative and provided an amazing harvest to be enjoyed throughout the winter. Andrea is gifted in the kitchen and in future issues we will learn about sourdough, canning, sauces, and more. I am excited to share her talents. Get a first sample of some of her creative homemaking and cooking on page 38.
Also, turn to pages 28-29 for an early look at the plans to update and transform the Flatirons Mall area. Exciting changes are on the horizon!
