The First Creative Immersion Gala Coming This Fall from BCAH

By Megan Mayes

The Broomfield Council on the Arts and Humanities (BCAH) works year-round to support local artists and provide residents with entertaining and intriguing experiences. This fall, BCAH will be hosting a new artistically stimulating event to showcase the wide variety of creativity and art that is alive right here in our city. The 2022 Creative Immersion Gala will be an exclusive interactive event you do not want to miss!

Before you even get to the event, attendees are encouraged to get their creativity flowing by dressing on the theme Masquerade. BCAH Director Keri Dillingham describes this as “creative black tie, where you can be a moving work of art.” For those who don’t have masks at home, do not worry! Masks will be in abundance with wearable masks created by local artists and face-painting available for purchase, as well as decorative display masks that will be put up for auction.

Hors-d’oeuvres and cocktails will be served during the silent auction, creating a fluid environment for guests to explore all of the installations. Professional performers will be both indoors and outdoors to showcase artistic talents in aerial acrobatics, modern dance, improv comedy, adult story-telling, and orchestral music. Attendees also participate in games and a paddle raise to contribute to fundraising efforts. The evening will end with exploration experiences including telescopic star-gazing, neon gaming, guided painting, musical experimentation, and a creative immersion room created by Lumonics Light and Sound Gallery. Lumonics is best known for their installation in Meow Wolf Denver, and gala attendees will be treated to a one-of-a-kind experience with their light sculptures.

The first annual Art Gala will be hosted at The Establishment on September 8 at 6:00 p.m. If you are interested in attending you should act quickly, as there are only 200 tickets available for this firstof-its-kind Broomfield event! Tickets can be purchased on the BCAH website under the Events tab. This same web page provides information on sponsorships, program ads, and silent auction donations. BCAH appreciates the support of the community and local businesses, and they are still accepting sponsorships for this event.

The Gala is a new event that will contribute significantly to the fundraising efforts of BCAH as well as showcase all of the programs the council supports. As a non-profit and membership-based organization, the council relies on the contributions of the community to sustain and deliver artistic and cultural experiences for all Broomfield residents to enjoy. For nearly 50 years, BCAH has been building quality programs to nurture creativity and encourage community participation. By purchasing a ticket or making a donation, you can help the council reach their funding goals to hire staff and continue growing in overall programming. Your support continues the Broomfield tradition of inclusive access to more than 70 events and workshops that increase our quality of life through artistic expression. Keri said it beautifully: “Creativity is essential to a well-balanced life, and we want to make sure Broomfield is an enriching place to work, play, and visit. We want you to be educated and entertained right where you live!”
