• Separate responsibilities:

- Having a planned-out communication schedule

- Fundraising (Bag Tag/Golf Sprint/individual donations)

- Scholar recruitment (share brochures/display Scholar plaques)

• Having a voice in different constituency groups at each club/account for changes in club demographics

• Adds continuity to changing leadership

Sample Roles & Responsibilities Breakdown

Ouimet Chair 1: Sharing Club Communication

• Coordinate with the club and Ouimet staff to ensure key communications like Bag Tag and Golf Sprint letters are shared. Serve as a point of contact for any questions about billing.

Ouimet Chair 2: Scholar Recruitment

• Help ensure all potential Scholars are informed about the opportunities. Collaborate with pro shop and grounds staff to spread the word and assist with applications. Make sure brochures and other promotional materials are around the club.

Ouimet Chair 3: Fundraising

• Focus on fundraising efforts for the Golf Sprint and help introduce The Fund to potential donors who may be interested in learning about giving opportunities.

Ongoing Communications

• Annual Meetings: Ouimet Chairs should meet with Ouimet staff and arrange visits with club leadership.

• Recruitment: Engage others to assist the Ouimet Chair in educating the membership about Ouimet programs.

• Scholarship Education: Educate potential Scholars, parents, and staff about The Fund and scholarship opportunities.

• Have locations where brochures can be displayed, such as the men’s and women’s locker rooms, the pro shop, or the bag room.

• Involvement Opportunities: Introduce individuals who may be interested in getting more involved with The Fund.

• A great example is getting Scholars to participate in the Golf Sprint, whether they play the role of a caddie or an additional player.
