About The Fund

The Francis Ouimet Scholarship Fund was founded as a non-pro t organization in 1949 and is thought of as The Golf Charity of Massachusetts. Its purpose is to help deserving young men and women who have worked at golf courses in Massachusetts obtain a college education. We provide need-based undergraduate scholarships, which are renewable over four years. The Ouimet Fund is the largest independent scholarship in New England.

How Are Financial Awards Determined?

Ouimet Scholars are accepted on a merit-based application and interview process

• The amount of a Scholar’s nancial award is determined by personal nancial need. The Ouimet Fund can analyze tuition costs, college grants, and the estimated family contribution through the submitted CSS and FAFSA forms

• Ouimet Scholarships can be renewable for up to four years

Honorary Book Award

• Honorary “Book Awards” are for Ouimet Scholars who do not display nancial need for that year based on the listed criteria

• Book awards are $750 per student and are renewable for up to four years

The competitive Ouimet Scholar selection process is judged on academic achievement and potential leadership, including school and community activities, interviews, essays, motivation, character, integrity, golf service and various recommendations.
