PRESIDENT’S WELCOME Welcome to the Oxford University Conservative Association (OUCA). Founded in 1924, we have remained the place for Conservative thought, free speech, and spirited debate. We’re Europe’s largest political student society for a reason; we welcome members from across the political spectrum, encourage open discussion, and have a lot of fun whilst we’re at it.

World-class speaker events are a key benefit of membership (lifetime for just £15). This term, our first speaker is Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg, exPresident of OUCA and now our Honorary President. We will also be welcoming polling guru Sir John Curtice amongst others. Socials include pub crawls, our Termly Dinner, and on the 23rd of October we are hosting a special black tie social to mark the start of the academic year with Lord Dominic Johnson. Join us for an evening of Wine, Cheese & Poker with the former minister and investment manager.

Our flagship social, Port and Policy (P&P), is held every Sunday at the Oxford Union. Featuring three debate motions and plenty of port, P&P is a quintessential Oxford experience. People from across the political spectrum are welcome. Because our flagship social is the most fun of the lot, most of our attendees are not Conservatives. No matter your beliefs or background, we want to meet you.

We can’t wait to see you soon.

The President, Balliol College

S P E A K E R S Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg DATE: 16 October 2026 LOCATION: TBC Join us with our Honorary President Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg. A former Cabinet Minister and MP for North East Somerset from 2010– 2024, Sir Jacob played a prominent role in Brexit and successive Conservative governments. This is your chance to put your questions to Sir Jacob. MEMBERS ONLY. Registration required. Details will be announced on Instagram.

Andrew Bowie DATE: 5 November 2026, 17:30 LOCATION: Balliol College Bowie was recently appointed as Shadow Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero. As well as serving as MP for West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine as well as Shadow Secretary of State for Scotland, Bowie has held many other roles - including as a ViceChair of the Young Conservatives and Minister for Exports under Rishi Sunak. 3

S P E A K E R S Lord Lilley DATE: 11 November 2026, 18:00 LOCATION: Balliol College A seasoned veteran of Conservative politics, Lord Lilley has served in the cabinets of both Margaret Thatcher and Sir John Major. He served as an MP for 34 years and remains a committed Eurosceptic. Since leaving the Commons in 2017, he has gone into the Lords and now involves himself with the ‘Common Sense Group’ of Conservative parliamentarians.

John Baird DATE: 12 November 2026 LOCATION: TBC A stalwart of Canada’s Conservative Party and an Ontario native, Baird served as the Foreign Minister of Canada from 2011-5 under Prime Minister Stephen Harper. As a Progressive Conservative, Baird is passionate about environmental issues, and represented Harper’s government in a 2007 UN report that concluded human activity was a primary driver of climate change. 4 bash week woohoo

S P E A K E R S Wo m e n 2 W i n DATE: 18 November 2026 LOCATION: Houses of Parliament Join us in celebrating the women of Conservatism with a trip to Parliament to speak with Women2Win. This organisation aims to get more women involved and running in the Party, and serves as a reminder of the monumental female legacies within it. Get the chance to hear from influential female peers. Follow @women2win on Instagram for more.

Sir Robert Buckland DATE: 27 November 2026 LOCATION: TBC Having served as Lord Chancellor under Boris Johnson, Sir Robert is no stranger to a dispute — having won his parliamentary seat in 1993 by a majority of just three votes. As the ex-Prisons Minister and Solicitor General, he has a wealth of experience both in the legal and punitive sides of the justice system. Outside of these areas, he also spends his time advocating for children with Special Needs. 5

S P E A K E R S Sir John Curtice DATE: 27 November 2026 LOCATION: TBC Sir John is arguably Britain’s most famous living pollster — so needs little introduction. A fellow of the Royal Academy of Social Sciences and Royal Society of Arts (amongst many others), he helped pioneer exit poll modelling that has gone on to form the basis of Britain’s general election coverage. For election and data nerds alike, this is certainly not one to miss.

J o e Tw y m a n DATE: TBC LOCATION: TBC Joe Twyman is the co-founder and director of the pollster Deltapoll, and currently serves as the head of political and social research for Europe and the MENA at YouGov. Twyman is also a founding director of YouGov. The Times once dubbed him as the ‘’housewives’ favourite pollster’’. You can follow him on Instagram at @pollposition 6

S P E A K E R S Lord Hannan DATE: TBC LOCATION: TBC An OUCA ex-President turned Director General of the IEA. In 1990 he founded the Oxford Campaign for an Independent Britain, and has remained a committed Brexiteer ever since. Dubbed a ‘British Gaullist’, Hannan argues that the preservation of national sovereignty is paramount, echoing Thatcher’s sentiment that Britain’s glory days are not behind her.

Gareth Davies DATE: TBC LOCATION: TBC Davies currently serves as MP for Grantham and Stamford, and previously served as Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury under Rishi Sunak. He has been a shadow Business Minister since July 2025, and considers himself a strong Thatcherite on the right of the party. Outside of politics, Davies works in Private Capital and has even visited North Korea. 7

P O RT A N D P O L I C Y DATE: 8:30PM Every Sunday LOCATION: The Oxford Union Our flagship event. End off the week in good company with bottomless Port. You know you want to. As OUCA’s most iconic event since its introduction in the 1990s, Port and Policy usually features three motions delivered by the Political Officer throughout the evening. Two of these motions will be made public — one will be kept secret. Our mystery motion is not revealed until the end of the night, so be sure to stick around. The night’s best speeches either in opposition or support of the motions may earn rewards. If you’re a woman, keep an eye out to win the Womanly Wine. We round off the event with a rendition of God Save the King alongside other traditional songs. Make sure to dust off your singing voices. This is our very own OUCA’s Got Talent.

S O C I A L S PUB CRAWL Week One A firm favourite returns for another term. OUCA’s termly Pub Crawl is back for another round. Freshers are highly encouraged to come along and begin their time at OUCA with one of our most classic events.

HALLOWEEN SOCIAL Week Three It’s that time of year again. Get your best costumes out for a celebration of all things spooky (and I’m not just talking about living under a Labour Government). There will be drinks and food aplenty, as well as Halloween-themed games and more. A hauntingly good time indeed.

WOMEN’S SOCIAL Week Four Our traditional Women’s Social makes its Michaelmas return, to much anticipation. An opportunity for the women of OUCA to mix and mingle. Enjoy good drinks and even better company.

WANTED

¿DÓNDE ESTÁ LA PRESIDENTA? Week Five Where’s the President? No, seriously, where has she gone? And she’s taken my money. And she’s drinking away my money. I want a refund.

REWARD: BOOZE

We need to find her so I can get my money back. I’m Conservative. I’m supposed to be fiscally prudent...

OXMAS SOCIAL Week Six Do they know it’s Christmas Time? Interpretations may vary, but OUCA certainly does… Join us for festive food, carols, and a night of merriment as we recall the highs and lows of the year gone by. Drinks will be freely flowing. Come along and make sure you’re not on Santa’s naughty list.

KARAOKE Week Seven OUCA’s ritual humiliation event is here once more. Join your mates for a night out that would put the Voice to shame at Mad Hatter Karaoke. Do you have what it takes to be the next Whitney Houston? You probably don’t, but that doesn’t matter. Nobody else here does, either. 10

SPECIAL EVENTS We l c o m e P a r t y w i t h L o r d Dominic Johnson DATE: 23 October 2026 LOCATION: TBC Join us for a special start-of-term black tie evening featuring Wine, Cheese & Poker. OUCA Termly Dinner DATE: Week Eight LOCATION: Pierre Victoire OUCA’s favourite end-of-term fixture. Enjoy an evening of wine, toasts, and being forced to admit as the British that French food is actually nice. Keep an eye out for a special guest...

JOINT CREWDATE WITH OSLA AND OLC DATE: TBC LOCATION: TBC

For more information, contact the Political Officer:

What better way to heal political divides than by engaging in a most venerable Oxford tradition — the Crewdate.

Perhaps those political differences were all superficial anyway...

C A M PA I G N I N G OUCA runs frequent campaigning sessions most weeks. Political activism is a central mission of the Association and we seek to constantly vouch for Conservatism both in Oxford and further afield. Our Political Officer helps coordinate campaigning sessions with local Party Associations and with those further away. As well as helping the cause of the national party, campaigning away days and afternoons are a great way to explore Oxfordshire and to meet and connect with like-minded Conservatives across the country. Keep an eye on our socials for updates on when and where campaigning sessions will be run. If you have any more questions, get in contact with the Political Officer.

We also seek to engage in Conservative Policy Forums. These usually occur a few times per term and centre around both local and national policy issues. Topics focus on the most pressing political issues of the current moment, so be sure to keep up to date on the news. Other ways to get involved in activism include contributing to our blog and our termly publication, Blueprint. Questions can be addressed to the Political Officer, Oscar Moore. politicalofficer@ouconservatives.co.uk
