MICHAELMAS TERM 2026 at the

OXFORD UNIVERSITY C O N S E R VAT I V E ASSOCIATION

DONATION DRIVE MMXXVI A modest proposal for BUSINESS and ALUMNI in support of our ASSOCIATION

An OUTLINE of our PLANS OUCA is planning our most ambitious Freshers’ drive to date. Our intentions for the Academic Year beginning in Michaelmas 2026 are simple: Place the Association at the heart of Kemi’s call for Young Conservative minds to shape the future of the Party. Back in May, we had the pleasure of hosting Kemi at Oxford. She came here with a very specific purpose: to speak to Young Conservatives about the future of both Party and Country. We could spend the remainder of this section rambling on about cancel culture or ‘wokeness’ on campus. But complaining is unproductive. Less talk. More action. More speakers. More socials. More campaigning. More policy.

In this spirit, here are our proposals for our Freshers’ Drive, to be held in the Second Week of Michaelmas Term: The President’s Welcome Drinks with A Senior Member of the Lords Black Tie. Wine. Canapes. And most importantly - oriented towards new attendees and those curious about Conservatism. Starting here, we have no intention of slowing down. Besides regular political campaigning at a local level, we plan to continue our social action to clean up Oxford. A recent partnership with Looking For Growth saw us clean up the Canal and City Centre. On a national level, we want to be at the table where policy is written. Last term saw a successful outing to Parliament where we shaped the Party’s efforts to message to younger people alongside Baroness Cash and Baroness Spielman.

An OUTLINE of REQUIREMENTS We are seeking donations to continue and expand our work into the upcoming year. Whether you are an individual, alumnus, local Party Association, or business, any and all help is welcome.

FOR BUSINESS

FOR ALUMNI

If you are a business who would like to sponsor an event of ours, we can offer promotion of your product or service at the event, and on our Social Media pages. We averaged ~68,000 views in the last 30 days of Trinity Term, and our events can pull up to hundreds of members each - especially for those attended by big-name speakers and guests.

Any financial assistance is welcome from alumni. Our centenary brochure was titled ‘An Appeal for the Next Hundred Years’. We all would like at least another century of OUCA!

We can include your branding and a link to your website in promotional materials for the event you have chosen to sponsor.

Alumni donations are greatly appreciated for things like printing termcards and funding speaker dinners. So, if you want to give back to OUCA and help us secure the next generation, then this is the perfect way to do so. FOR LOCAL ASSOCIATIONS

We would also be open to featuring your product in the event. If you are a purveyor of wine, cheese, Champagne, chutneys, stationery, or other items we would love to include your products.

Support from local Party Associations is vital for our outreach and campaign work. We have done work over the past year with Associations for Oxford and Abingdon, Henley-on-Thames, and several others.

For our Autumn Welcome Event, we are looking for cheeses, wine, and other nibbles. If you’re a business who wants to collaborate, kindly contact us using the details provided above!

Donations from local Associations are great for things like travel reimbursements for campaign away days and trips to London to partake in policy programmes and other events.

Concerning OUTREACH to LOCAL PARTY ASSOCIATIONS Outreach to Party Associations both locally and beyond is of great importance to us. If you are a local Party Association who needs extra hands on deck for campaigns or other logistics-intensive matters, please contact Oscar Moore at politicalofficer@ouconservatives.co.uk.

Additionally, if you are a Party Association who wants to attend our speaker events, your members are most welcome to come along. Please contact Zahra Saeed (president@ouconservatives.co.uk) to see which speaker events will be open to Local Associations, as well as further details for attendance. Our Freshers’ Drive each year is very important not just to OUCA, but other Party Associations around the locality and wider nation. OUCA depends on these efforts to keep a steady supply of up-and-coming party activists in the pipeline. OUCA would also be open to hosting joint speaker dinners with interested local Party Associations - please contact the President if you’re open to exploring this further. Even donations as small as £20 can finance a team of 4 to campaign locally for a day. OUCA also hosts campaign away days, where we go a bit further afield. These cost a little more, especially with train fares. Any help towards this would also greatly be appreciated.

HELP US CLEAN UP OXFORD Something we’ve been doing a lot more recently is partaking in social action to clean up Oxford. Over the past year, we have been frequently litterpicking the Canal, Port Meadow, the City Centre, and parts of Jericho. As Conservatives, we recognise the importance of having a responsibility towards the places where we live. Especially over this summer, places such as Port Meadow have become extremely dirty. In a recent litterpicking session in collabaration with Looking For Growth and Oxford Students Liberal Association, we found all manner of rubbish in rivers - ranging from beer cans all the way up to car doors and office desks and chairs!

A donation as small as £20 can cover the cost of a day’s litterpicking session, including appropriate disposal for the collected waste. Local Party Associations are more than welcome to come along. Contact the Political Officer for more information.

B E PA R T O F H I S T O RY A Hundred Years More of OUCA Through the years, we have hosted influential politicians, speakers, and thinkers. Our Alumni include four Prime Ministers. Every single Conservative cabinet since the 1950s has had at least one ex-President sitting within it. Over the past few months, we have hosted Kemi Badenoch, Sir Jeremy Hunt, Katie Lam, Neil O’Brien, Sir James Cleverley, and many others. We have also been recently joined by the Institute of Economic Affairs, Fighting for a Free Future, and Looking for Growth - to name only a few. The centuries change. Our mission does not. OUCA’s pledge to promote Conservatism at Oxford and beyond remains as strong as ever. Many of us will only spend a few years here. Yet our memories, and our friendships made here, will serve us far into the rest of our lives. Click here to donate.
