From application to admission and beyond, OU provides veterans, service members, military spouses, and dependents with on-campus resources tailored to meet the unique needs of our nation’s service members and their families.

Veteran Student Services (VSS) at OU assists military-connected students as they navigate the college search process. With VSS, future OU students can search for military scholarships and learn how to utilize their VA benefits, which are listed below.
Survivors’ and Dependents’ Educational Assistance (Chapter 35): Monthly stipend for dependents of 100% disabled service members, paid directly to students.
Montgomery GI Bill® Selected Reserve (Chapter 1606): Monthly stipend for those who have served in the Selected Reserves.
Veteran Readiness and Employment (Chapter 31): Beneficiaries receive a book stipend and monthly housing allowance. Tuition and fees are paid directly to OU.
Post-9/11 GI Bill® (Chapter 33): Beneficiaries receive a book stipend and monthly housing allowance. Tuition and fees are paid directly to OU.

MILITARY CONNECTED AND VETERAN STUDENT SUCCESS CENTER
Peer Advisors for Veterans Education Program (PAVE):
With a focus on connection, support, and belonging, PAVE gives student veterans a strong network to lean on — helping students adjust to college, stay on track, and reach their goals.
Student Veterans Association (OUSVA): OUSVA’s mission is to provide military-connected students with a welcoming, supportive environment. This student organization also coordinates campus activities, meetings, and networking events.
Veteran Zone: Located in the Oklahoma Memorial Union, the Veteran Zone is a student lounge specifically utilized by veteran students. This space is used for veteran group study sessions, networking, and building community.
Military Connected and Veteran Student Success Center (MVC):
The MVC is a dedicated resource hub for military-connected students and families. MVC services and resources include wellness support, peer groups, advising, workshops, networking connections, and Copeland Lounge. Copeland Lounge provides a comfortable, modern space for veteran students to relax, study, and connect while on campus. Serving as a companion to our Veteran Zone, it’s open to all students, including those who are military-connected, and supports individual study, group meetings, and community-building throughout the day.
