The State of Oklahoma offers Oklahoma seniors a tuition waiver for a maximum of 18 credit hours for their senior year, so this is a great time to get a jump start on your college classes! We offer online classes that have fees waived, which means select online courses are completely FREE for Oklahoma seniors and available at a reduced rate for Oklahoma juniors. We also have summer programs that allow you to experience life as an OU student and earn college credit.

Direct Cost Estimate
An OU degree is more affordable now than it was five years ago. Over the last five years, resident freshmen have seen on average a 28% reduction in their net tuition and fees, saving them $1,516 annually. Plus, scholarships awarded per resident undergraduate per year have increased 20% We offer a variety of scholarships to help offset the investment in an OU education, including academic awards ranging from $4,000 to $16,000 or more. For the fall 2024 incoming class, over 90% of freshmen received a scholarship from the Office of Admissions and Recruitment. Awarded to students based on financial need, academic performance and/or talents.

Awarded based on need. Eligibility is determined from the FAFSA.
Scholarships and grants are considered GIFT AID because they do not have to be repaid.

1. Submit the FAFSA. Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.gov. Completing the FAFSA allows you to receive consideration for state and federal financial aid, including loans, grants and work study opportunities.
2. Apply for outside scholarships. Check with your high school counselor and local organizations about possible opportunities and visit go2.ou.edu/outside-scholarships .
3. Look into Oklahoma’s Promise. Administered by the Oklahoma State Regents, Oklahoma’s Promise offers qualifying Oklahoma residents a scholarship for college tuition. To be considered, you must enroll in the program in eighth, ninth, 10th or 11th grade and qualify based on your parents’ or legal guardians’ adjusted gross income and number of dependents. OU also provides additional financial assistance to Oklahoma’s Promise recipients through the Crimson Commitment program.
