FACTS •
•
•
Allied Health contains 18 programs with 9 leading directly to licensure. Professional, graduate and undergraduate students are all in the same building. Programs are highly competitive, so grades will play a large factor in the decisions process. The Kira Talent interview is a great way to help an applicant further stand out. Many programs can be a great starting pointing for future goals (graduate studies, careers as an MD or PA)
TIPS & TRICKS •
Professional Graduate Programs can major in anything as long as prerequisites are completed!
•
Meeting minimum requirements will often not lead to a competitive application. •
•
Apply Early! (CAS Applicants) •
•
The higher the GPA , the more competitive the applicant usually is. Updated transcripts can be sent in at the end of the fall semester to update records.
MIRS + CSD applicants-Apply after the fall semester. •
This way grades and prerequisites for the fall will be on your transcripts and provide a fuller picture of the applicant for the admissions committee.

How Are Site Placement Decisions Made • Undergraduate students are placed at one of six learning sites: Lawton, Duncan, Norman, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and Tahlequah (FA 27).
• Site placement is carefully determined based on a holistic review of your academic progress and preparation. We use four key factors to guide these decisions, ensuring fairness and transparency for all students: 1.
Cumulative GPA
2.
Science GPA
3.
Number of Completed Prerequisites
4.
Number of Science Courses Completed (Chemistry, Microbiology, Human Anatomy, Human Physiology)
International Student Applicants • Evaluations are accepted from the World Education Services (WES) or the Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE). • The LPN-BSN, RN-BSN, MSN, Post-Graduate Certificates, PhD, and DNP programs in the College of Nursing are hybrid and/or online programs. The F-1 visa regulations require in-person courses, and these programs do not meet those requirements. Thus, international students are not accepted for these programs (LPN-BSN, RN-BSN, MSN, Post-Graduate Certificates, PhD, and DNP). International students are only eligible to apply for the ABSN and TBSN pathways as they have in-person requirements.
Facts The College of Nursing offers fulltime, part-time, and online education through undergraduate and graduate programs. The College of Nursing provides programs at Oklahoma City, Lawton, Tulsa, Duncan, Norman, and Tahlequah (FA 27) locations, as well as distance learning throughout the state. Led by a diverse, exceptional faculty, our educational programs are devoted to shaping nurses and nurse leaders who are impacting health care in Oklahoma and beyond.
Tips & Tricks • Quality over quantity • Major in anything, just make sure prerequisites are taken care of! • Some popular majors include: • Biology • Business • Health & Exercise Science
• Completing admission and enrollment items by the deadlines will make the process smoother.

How Are Educational Track Placements Made? Applicants offered conditional acceptance to the OUCOM are asked to indicate their preferred educational track (OKC or SCM) in January after all offers of admission have been made on behalf of the Admissions Board. Each applicant has the opportunity to identify and describe any unique circumstances that may need to be considered by the Admissions Board in their placement to one track versus another. The Admissions Board reviews each accepted applicant’s’ preference and fills each track considering individual preference and availability following the process outlined in Policy 201. If an applicant chooses to decline the offer to their assigned track, their offer to the OUCOM is rescinded. The Admissions Board follows procedures outlined in Policy 201 when selecting applicants from the waitlist to fill positions available. The waitlist applicant is offered a seat in the educational track that has available space. An applicant who declines the acceptance offer to the assigned educational track will be removed from the OUCOM wait list and the offer will be made to the next applicant on the waitlist.
