“A transparência é um reflexo que se ignora”, Eugène Atget É com esta citação do fotógrafo francês Eugène Atget que Philippe Meyer inicia a memória descritiva do seu projeto arquitetónico realizado no Quai de Cologny, em Genebra, na Suíça. Porque é de facto a transparência a principal habitante desta residência particular, que ganha reflexo nas águas do lago situado a seus pés.

Resultante da reconstrução de um edifício anteriormente ocupado por escritórios, a moradia do Quai de Cologny abre-se a uma paisagem líquida, luminosa, arejada, deixando o olhar alongar-se e encher-se de horizonte. “Transparency is an unwitting reflection”, Eugène Atget It is with this quote from French photographer Eugène Atget that Philippe Meyer begins the document describing his architectural project carried out in Quai de Cologny, in Geneva, Switzerland.

Transparency is indeed the main inhabitant of this private residence, which is reflected in the waters of the lake at its feet.

Resulting from the reconstruction of a building formerly used for offices, the Quai de Cologny house opens up to a liquid, luminous, airy landscape, allowing the eye to stretch out and be filled with horizon. A linha superior da balaustrada elevada estabelece um paralelismo tácito com a superfície do lago, numa mimese arquitetónica da natureza.

Construção estirada na paisagem, estrutura feita da transparência do vidro, a casa no Quai de Cologny surge como uma questionação constante – será um objeto concreto ou um reflexo no espelho do lago? Construction stretched into the landscape, structure made of the transparent nature of glass, the house in Quai de Cologny appears to be constantly questioning its existence – is it a concrete object or a reflection in the mirror of the lake? Or is the lake just the house? Whatever the answer to this question, the villa invites the eye to dive into its transparency.
