After many tireless years serving as an OTDA director and leading operations at Frisby Tire, Don has announced his retirement from both operations.
Don joined the family business, Frisby Tire, in 1982, working at several Frisby locations while learning the tire business, and some 38 years later, in 2020, Don and the entire Frisby family celebrated the 100th anniversary of Frisby Tire.
While with the OTDA, Don chaired many committees, worked on numerous projects and shared his wealth of knowledge with all that spoke with him. Additionally, Don was welcomed into the OTDA Hall of Fame in 2012.
The OTDA Board of Directors, members and our supporters would like to thank Don for his years of service, dedication, and role with the OTDA and within the tire industry.
Don, we all hope you enjoy your retirement, and we will miss seeing you around the Board room table.
Used tire collection sites operate throughout Ontario and are part of an important collection network within the recycling system. This includes tire shops, repair shops, tire and automobile dealers; any business, or organization that handles used tires.
We want to thank collection sites for ensuring that every used tire is collected for recycling, and for following Ontario’s tire recycling regulation requirements. This includes accepting used tire drop offs from the public, at no charge, including tires on rims.
If you’re a collection site that wants to enroll with us, please visit us at etracks.ca
If you’re an existing eTracks collection site, and need to 昀nd a new hauler, please contact us at info@etracks.ca and we’ll 昀nd one for you.
Our goal at eTracks is simple, to actually make the system better for everyone who uses it – from collection sites, to producers, to consumers.

Stretching improves muscle elasticity and increases muscle control, flexibility and range of motion. Many people stretch before and after a workout, upon waking in the morning or even after a road trip, but what about workplace stretching?
When muscles are stretched, blood supply increases, soft tissue structures realign and muscle coordination strengthens.
Stretching is beneficial to the overall health of the body and plays a role in reducing musculoskeletal disorders among employees. MSDs account for over 600,000 injuries and illnesses and 34 percent of all workdays lost.
• Reduced risk of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), like sprains and strains of the lower back, shoulders and knees.
• Reduced risk of cumulative trauma disorders (CTDs), such as rotator cuff injuries, tendonitis, tennis elbow and "Blackberry" thumb.
• Reduced workplace stress.
• Improved worker productivity.
• Improved range of motion, posture and providing stress relief.
Implementing a 5-minute stretching routine with workers will likely result in more alert staff and fewer workplace injuries.
Before you get started, here are some key points: Neutral position: This is the starting posture for all of the exercises. Stand straight, head and spine in alignment, chin in, eyes looking forward. Shoulders back and down, feet hip width apart and knees slightly bent.
Consult your doctor before beginning any new exercise program
Stop if you feel dizzy, uncomfortable or experience any pain
Always work at your own pace
1. Ear to Shoulder Stand in the neutral position
Slowly and gently tilt your head to one side, keeping your ear aligned with your shoulder
Return to the neutral position and wait a few seconds
Repeat on the other side
Cold muscles are susceptible to injury. These exercises should be done before starting any physical work or work that requires you to hold any awkward postures. The purpose of warming-up is to get the blood flowing into the muscles. Muscles that have been warmed-up are ready to work and are less likely to be injured. Do each movement 5–8 times on each side.
2. Chin Drops Stand in the neutral position
Gently drop your chin to your chest
Return to the neutral position
3. Shoulder Circles
