Proportional Salary Cuts In The Vatican

HREE days ago, Pope Francis, Head of the Roman Catholic Church Worldwide, took the unprecedented step of making proportional cuts in the salaries of the church’s Cardinals and Clerics as a response to dwindling revenues because of the Coronavirus pandemic. The church
has been hard-hit by shutdowns affecting income from its mainstays, such as museums and St. Peter’s Basilica. The proportional pay cuts in the Vatican is reminiscent of the decision forced upon the then governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, as a painful response to the
