Poor Remittance: Customers To Witness Prolong Power Outage Next Month - IBEDC

THE Ibadan Electricity Distribu on Company (IBEDC) has appealed to its customers in the State of Osun to pay their current and outstanding bills to forestall prolonged power outage.

IBEDC made the appeal in a no ce of power outage sent to its customers on Tuesday.
According to the company, power outage would be experienced from next month due to plans by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) to disconnect IBEDC from the na onal grid over poor remi ance.
The no ce reads:
“We regret to inform you that prolonged power outages will be experienced from next month due to plans by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) to disconnect IBEDC from the Na onal grid over poor remi ances.
“Therefore, we appeal to our esteemed customers to pay 100% of their current and outstanding bills immediately, to enable IBEDC meet its financial obligaons to the value chain and avert the pending disconnec on”.
Speaking with OSUN DEFENDER, the Public Rela ons Officer of IBEDC, Osun region, Mrs. Kikelomo Owoeye said the company was losing a lot of revenue to those who are not paying their bills, adding that it has become difficult to meet up with TCN requirements.
She said: “I just want to appeal to our customers to pay their current and outstanding bills. The money we are ge ng is not enough to cater for the power we are ge ng from TCN.
“There are lots of customers who have outstanding debts. Also, some have bypassed the meter, thereby turning into a loss of revenue
