widow, Mrs. A j i m o h Omokanye has alleged that some officers of the Special AntiRobbery Squad (SARS) killed her husband, Najeem Omokanye.

According to the widow, her husband was crushed on his bike by a team of SARS officers who were chasing some yahoo boys with the mini commercial transport bus known as korope at Olonkoro area of Osogbo on Sunday, December 29, 2019. Omokanye who stated that she was called on phone that her husband had an accident, said some people who witnessed the incident claimed that the mini bus that crushed her husband was filled with
policemen who were chasing the suspected internet fraudsters. She alleged that the police hit her husband on his Bajaj motorcycle and ran away. The widow stated that her husband was rushed to Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital (LAUTECH), Osogbo, where he later died. Ask if she reported the case to the police, the widow said she did not
report because there was nobody to help the family. She said: “My husband left home in the morning of Sunday, December 29, 2019. He said I should prepare food for him that he would not stay long. Around 1 pm after Olorunda Local Government Secretariat, a SARS vehicle chasing Yahoo boys crushed him on bike. Nobody came to his aid. Around 1:30pm, two alfas came to our house to inform me that my husband
had an accident. I hurriedly left for the scene of the accident. We called the ambulance service and carried him to LAUTECH where he was receiving treatment before he died around 7pm that day. He was an electrical engineer. “He left behind a daughter, Rasidat The people that witnessed the accident said my husband was hit by a bus carrying SARS who were chasing Yahoo boys. They said they could not stop the SARS officers because they were afraid of being shot. I am now suffering; it is difficult for me to eat and pay my child’s school fees.” Speaking with OSUN DEFENDER on phone, one of the people who rescued the deceased, Alhaji Abduljelil Abdulroheem corroborated Omokanye's claim, saying that they were told that some policemen chasing Yahoo boys crushed late Omokanye.
