DEGREES AWARDED IN THE USC DIVISION OF BIOKINESIOLOGY AND PHYSICAL THERAPY Doctor of Physical Therapy The program prepares graduates for a professional career as a physical therapist.

Graduates are prepared to be autonomous practitioners, capable of evaluating and treating patients without the need for referral from another practitioner, but ready to work in collaboration with other health professionals. The doctor of physical therapy is the authoritative practitioner in the diagnosis and treatment of movement dysfunction.

Master of Science in Biokinesiology The program prepares graduates to apply theoretical principles of motor control, motor development, physiology and biomechanics in human performance assessment and interpretation. Graduates are prepared to advance the use of data and technology to evaluate injury, injury risk and optimal performance.

Doctor of Philosophy in Biokinesiology The program prepares graduates to be academic faculty members and independent research scientists in the field of biokinesiology. Graduates establish and direct collaborative, interdisciplinary research programs. They are also leaders, scholars, teachers, and innovators in the field of biokinesiology.
