I miss HOME!

+ + I don't feel like I'm at home. + + Why? Don't you have a house? + I actually live in a house which is

not feeling like home at all. :(

+ + How is your home like? + Does it look different,does it have a

specific program or a space that your current house is lacking? No! It's not about how big the house is or how does it look. + + So what's the problem? + I just can't feel it. + I want to be able to smell my mom + + + +

baking her special recipe cookies, Hear my dad working in the wood shop as a background music, Just laying on the ground and touch the Persian carpet! I guess that makes me feel I'm back HOME!

ception of feeling of being at Home by focusing on the combination of activities and objects that are shaping it for it's dwellers.

+ + The scenario is happening for

me ( based in state college, PA) and my family (based in Isfahan, Iran) as a representative of an internationally mobile student and his/her family .

+ + “An internationally mobile

student is an individual who has physically crossed an international border between two countries with the objective to participate in educational activities in a destination country, where the destination country is different from his or her country of origin.” (UNESCO, 2015)

+ + In 2017, there were over 5.3

million international students, up from 2 million in 2000 (UNESCO, 2019).

+ More than half of these were

enrolled in educational programs in six countries: The United States of America, the United Kingdom, Australia, France, Germany and the Russian Federation. Prominent sending countries of international students include China, India, Germany, Republic of Korea, Nigeria, France, Saudi Arabia and several Central Asian countries (ibid).

+ + Not only the 5.3 million

students but their families and loved ones are suffering from the lack of virtual communication technologies focusing on the transferring of all perceptual senses( touch- smell- sight soundtaste) which this project is trying to illustrate how a designed combination of perception of senses are shaping a space rather than typical known elements like walls and ceilings. + The design is focusing on illustration of four scenes showing idealistic scenarios of me and my family diningsleeping-gathering together while physically being thousands of miles apart from each other.
