Osceola County - Noticias / News Poinciana Parkway supera las expectativas de volumen de tráfico Condado Osceola - La Autoridad de Autopistas del Condado Osceola (OCX, por sus siglas en inglés) está excepcionalmente satisfecha con el informe del volumen de tráfico en el primer segmento de la Poinciana Parkway, que se encuentra a partir de la US Highway 17-92 en Kinney Harmon Road hasta la Marigold Avenue. Ya están superando el número estimado de usuarios dentro de los primeros tres meses de movimiento. La proyección de "Ramp Up" para la fase I, esperaba que el volumen de tráfico después de que los peajes se hubueran recogido durante dos meses, era de 2,699 vehículos por día. El volumen medio de tráfico que la Poinciana Parkway recibió en julio fue de 5,401 vehículos por día. Los funcionarios de la Autoridad de Autopistas del Condado Osceola ven el
Parkway como la clave para mejorar el acceso hacia y desde la comunidad de Poinciana. El Poinciana Parkway abrió el 30 de abril de este año, el resto de la avenida de dos carriles, desde Marigold Avenue hasta Cypress Parkway, se abrirá en el otoño del 2016. Los intercambios se encuentran en Marigold Avenue, KOA Street y Cypress Parkway. Las 10 millas de Poinciana Parkway incluirá todos los peajes electrónicos, la manera más fácil para que los clientes pagar peajes y mantener el tráfico en movimiento. Poinciana Parkway Exceeds Traffic Volume Expectations key to improving access to and from the Osceola County, FL –The Osceola County Expressway Authority (OCX) is exceptionally satisfied with the traffic volume reporting for Poinciana Parkway’s first segment, located from US Highway 17-92 at Kinney Harmon Road to Marigold Avenue. Already making record breaking numbers within the first three months of movement, the “Ramp Up” projection for phase I, which anticipates traffic volumes after tolls have been collected for two months, was 2,699 vehicles per day. The average volume of traffic the Poinciana Parkway received in July was 5,401 vehicles per day. Osceola County Expressway Authority officials see the Parkway as
Poinciana community. The Poinciana Parkway opened on April 30th of this year, the remainder of the two-lane parkway, from Marigold Avenue to Cypress Parkway, will open in the fall of 2016. Interchanges are located at Marigold Avenue, KOA Street and Cypress Parkway. The 10-mile Poinciana Parkway will include all electronic tolling, the easiest way for customers to pay tolls and keep traffic moving. Cash payments will not be accepted. Motorists can pay tolls with an E-PASS or Sun Pass transponder or via the Pay by Plate service for those without a transponder. Pay by Plate will invoice the tolls to the registered owner of the vehicle’s license plate.

Alejandro García Padilla authorized the following expressions on the appointment of members of the Board of Supervisory of US Attorney. "President Obama just announced the composition of the Fiscal Oversight Board which was created under PROMISE. I have reservations about some of the selected people but do not consider this an appropriate time to discuss them. My administration is committed to complete and submit to the Board a fiscal plan that puts over all other consideration, the economic and social wellbeing of our people. The final responsibility is appointed and President Obama continues to be held responsible for the decisions taken by the Board. I have said before and I repeat now, PROMISE has a positive quality; It allows us to first stop and then neatly channel the claims of creditors of Puerto
Rico, that past administrations borrowed billions that we cannot pay. However, PROMISE take over democratic powers that belong to the people of Puerto Rico. My administration will meet this complicated situation responsibly: ensuring that the Board attend its fiscal task quickly and end as soon as possible its existence. The fiscal plan that they will submit will target it. Likewise, I will make sure to have presence in the everyday work of the Board, not cast aside my responsibility as ruler of the country. That is why I have determined to designate, as permitted by law, Richard Ravitch as my representative to the board. Ravitch is nationally recognized for having worked governmental fiscal matters and for the past three years, without compensation, has offered his assistance to Puerto Rico during the process of economic and fiscal recovery that has driven my administration."

Comunidad / Community Inscripciones para Escuela de Gobierno Kissimmee, FL – La Ciudad de Kissimmee está aceptando solicitudes para el programa Escuela de Gobierno 2016. Este programa está diseñado para proveer a los residentes una visión de primera mano de las operaciones del gobierno de la Ciudad. City of Kissimmee Announces 2016 School of Government Program Kissimmee, FL – The City of Kissimmee Public Information Office is now accepting applications for its School of Government Program. This program is designed to provide residents with a first-hand look at their City government. This free program is open to residents 18 years-of-age or older, who live or own a business within the City of Kissimmee limits. Each week, participants will learn about different City departments through a series of hands-on activities, demonstrations, and interactive tours.
School of Government runs for six consecutive Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. beginning October 13 and ending with a graduation ceremony on November 17th. Since its inception in Spring of 2000, more than 200 residents have graduated from the City of Kissimmee School of Government. Municipio de St. Cloud instalará letreros de restricción de tráfico en Nolte Road St. Cloud, FL – El Municipio de St. Cloud comenzará a instalar letreros de tráfico de restricción de peso en la carretera cerca de las zonas residenciales de Nolte Road. Ésto se llevó a cabo a partir del 25 de agosto para ayudar a mantener la carretera segura.

City of St. Cloud to install weight-restriction traffic signs on Nolte Road St. Cloud, FL – City of St. Cloud will start posting weight-restrictions traffic signs on the roadway of residential areas on Nolte Road starting Aug. 25 to help keep the road safe. “We are working with Osceola County and will be placing these signs to ensure that we don’t have dangerous situations east and west of Nolte Road,” said City Manager Joe Helfenberger.
“It’s important that we preserve the integrity of the roadway and heavyload traffic is causing damage to the road.” Six signs will be posted east and west of Nolte Road, mainly in the Stevens Plantation area. County Announces Test of Flood Alert Warning System Osceola County, FL – Osceola County will conduct a test of the Flood Alert Warning System between September 7 and October 12. The purpose is to test the county’s alerting capability for residents in special flood hazard areas. This test is part of the Community Rating System criteria, which brings lower flood insurance rates to the citizens. The testing will include residents in both

Osceola County, FL - Osceola County Republican Executive Committee (OCREC) had the Grand Opening of its office at 2260 E. Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy., Kissimmee, last Saturday, August 26. The office will be open to the public from 10 am to 7 pm, Tuesday to Saturday.
Kissimmee, FL - Last Thursday, August 25, the Democratic Party held a grand opening of their new office in Kissimmee. Osceola County Commissioner Viviana Janer and Hillary Clinton Supporters came out to support the new office opening. The location of the office is; SunTrust Building, 3367 West Vine St, Suite 207. The office hours are 9:00 am to 9:00 pm.
Personnel at the office will provide the public with campaign information about Republican Candidates, and answer questions on voting procedures and
offer the opportunity to register to vote, and vote from home by mail. Mark Oxner, Chairman of OCREC, in the center with the scissors during the ribbon cutting ceremony, invites the residents of Osceola County to visit the office and receive literature related to the candidates, yard signs, and orientation in the electoral campaign. USCIS Naturalizes New Citizens in celebration of National Park Service Centennial WA S H I N G T O N — U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services celebrated the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service on August 25 by welcoming 450 new U.S. citizens during 16 naturalization ceremonies at national parks across the country. Resultados de las Elecciones Primarias Orlando, FL - Los resultados de las elecciones primarias del martes en la noche no trajeron grandes sorpresas, incluyendo la baja participación. De 186,093 votantes registrados, sólo se contaron 38,241 papeletas. La participación de los votantes aumentó ligeramente, del 13.02% al 20.83% desde la última elección. Los resultados en los siguientes tres puestos fueron finales; el Recaudador de Impuestos del Condado Osceola, Bruce E. Vickers (D) quien obtuvo 61.63% de los votos, y tomará la posición en enero del 2017. El Miembro de la Junta Escolar del Condado Osceola, Distrito 2, Kelvin Soto, quien obtuvo la mayoría de los votos reclamando 68.07%, se mantiene en la posición con un nuevo término efectivo en noviembre. Three final races took place: Osceola County Tax Collector, Bruce E. Vickers (D) who obtained 61.63% of the vote, He is going to take the position on January 2017. Osceola County School Board, District 2, Kelvin Soto won a majority of the vote claiming 68.07%, and Jim Fisher for City of Kissimmee Commision, Seat 4 with 62.52%. He is going to be sworn in at September 13 Commision meeting. The winners of the primary election below are the elected officials who will face their opponent on the general election. For Clerk of the Circuit Court, Armando Ramirez (D), the current incumbent, gained victory having received 42.4% of the vote. Ramirez will be joined by Malcom W. Thompson, nonparty affiliated on November 8. In the race for Kissimmee Mayor Jose Alvarez received 45.7%, while Art Otero received 41.6%. Freddy E. Inauguración de las actividades de la VIII Semana de Derechos Laborales Orlando, FL - El lunes 29 de agosto, el Cónsul Juan Sabines Guerrero y el Administrador Regional de la OSHA del Departamento del Trabajo de los Estados Unidos, Kurt Petermeyer, ofrecieron una conferencia de prensa en las instalaciones del Consulado, con motivo de la inauguración de las actividades de la VIII Semana de Derechos Laborales.
La Semana de Derechos Laborales (SDL) es una iniciativa que se realiza en torno al Día del Trabajo en Estados Unidos (Labor Day) y que tiene como objetivo mejorar el conocimiento de los derechos laborales de la comunidad latina, así como de las instancias a las cuales pueden acudir en caso de alguna violación a sus derechos. El marco jurídico de la Semana
de Derechos Laborales es La Declaración Conjunta entre la Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores y el Departamento del Trabajo de EUA suscrita en 2004 y renovada por segunda vez en 2014. Para esta octava edición el tema general será “¡Tu trabajo tiene dignidad! Conoce tus derechos (Your work has dignity! Know your Rights). A partir de este tema se procurará reafirmar la importancia de los inmigrantes en la fuerza laborar estadounidense, y se resaltarán las contribuciones de
los trabajadores migrantes a la sociedad y economía de Estaos Unidos. La SDL 2016 se llevará a cabo en las 51 ciudades de Estados Unidos, incluido San Juan, Puerto Rico, en donde están ubicados los Consulados de México. En el Consulado de México en Orlando se llevaran a cabo jornadas de derechos laborales en la sede consular. El Consulado de México está ubicado en 2550 Technology Dr., Orlando, FL 32804.

Osceola County, FL – Osceola County Sheriff's deputies arrested Jorge Luis Gonzalez-Gonzalez and May Dollys Perez-Paz and charged them with Aggravated Elderly Abuse and Practicing Medicine Without a License. The investigation began in June when deputies took a report from a 72-year old man and his wife. The victim told deputies he and his wife were first contacted by Gonzalez and Paz after seeing a Craig's list advertisement for a dog. They later met the couple at a dog show and soon become friends. Gonzalez and Paz saw the victim was
unable to walk and offered to assist him with Humira injections for his arthritis. Initially, the victim was responding well to the treatments, but soon after these injections were administered, the victim was diagnosed with a blood infection and went into a stroke-like coma which doctors indicated could have been caused by the Humira injections. Detectives contacted Gonzalez and Paz, but they refused to cooperate with the investigation. Based on the victims' statements and medical information provided by the hospital, detectives obtained a felony warrant for Gonzalez and Paz. They were arrested and booked into the Osceola County Jail.

Montreal Impact (9-7-10, 5th East) - Oct. 2. In this matchup, Orlando City will have an opportunity to really clinch a playoff slot. The three points will not only benefit them directly, but a lack of points for their rivals will prevent Montreal from climbing further up the ladder.
D.C. United (7-11-8, 6th East) - Sept. 24. D.C. United is currently at last slot in the Eastern Conference playoffs. United is on the rise after winning 6-2 against the Chicago Fire last week.
Philadelphia Union (11-7-9, 4th East) - Oct. 16. The Union are quickly becoming difficult to catch, winning three of their last four matches.
Toronto FC (12-7-8, 1st East) - Sept. 28. Toronto’s quest for the top slot in the East and the Supporters’ Shield has created vulnerabilities for them, and teams such as Houston have been able to catch them off guard. Facing one of the top offenses in the league,
