Osceola County Los proyectos de Osceola mantienen el apoyo de TaxWatch Por Viviana Janer, Presidenta de la Comisión del Condado Osceola El Condado Osceola se está convirtiendo rápidamente en el epicentro de la manufactura avanzada. El mercado de estos en los próximos años se proyecta tenga un valor en el mercado global de $32.5 trillones de dólares para el 2025. Los beneficios son significativos y de largo alcance. Y con un proyecto único "listo para salir”, TaxWatch recomienda que la Florida invierta fondos públicos en la infraestructura de fabricación de alta tecnología. Eso es genial. Igual de importante, es saber que TaxWatch es una organización conocida como organismo de control clave cuando se trata de la eficacia del dinero

As they like to say on TV, “this is breaking news.” But the impact is more lasting than a 2-minute blurb on the local news. This is an evolving story that is going to bring an economic bounty to the region, and more importantly, to Osceola County’s hard-working population. The next chapter unfolded with two milestones recently.

For the second year in a row, the not-for-profit TaxWatch is supporting Osceola’s efforts to diversify the Florida’s economy and create job growth in a relatively untapped sector through the International Consortium for Advanced Manufacturing Research (ICAMR) and the

organization known as a key watchdog when it comes to how effectively public dollars are being spent. This is proof that Osceola, UCF and its many partners are on the right track. Hopefully, the briefing will help Osceola and its partners secure funding this year from the state.

Written by economist Kyle Baltuch, the document says the project not only would boost local higherwage jobs, but also could help to jump start Florida’s manufacturing sector.

Creating jobs is one thing, but creating programs so that our citizens are able to fill them is another. Fortunately, Osceola and its partners have citizens covered there, too.

The project “grants Florida the unique opportunity to invest in an emerging manufacturing market that has great potential economic benefits for the state,” Baltuch wrote.

Valencia College’s new Advanced Manufacturing Training center is located less than five minutes away from the FAMRC – in a building owned by the county and leased to the college.

The center would research and build sensors used in high-tech products. The market for these in coming years is projected to have a global market value of $32.5 trillion by 2025. The benefits are significant and far-reaching. And with a unique “ready-to-go project,” TaxWatch recommends that Florida invest public funding in high-tech manufacturing infrastructure.

For less than $2,000, the unemployed, underemployed and our military veterans can take certification programs (12 weeks to six months) and begin new careers that pay high wages. For those who qualify, there is also financial assistance available. Either way, the return on investment is a nobrainer for anyone interested in a career change that will increase their earning power.

It is a great example of how the community and industry can partner together to educate and train students for high-skill, high-wage employment – and do it with an intense, short-term and affordable series of training programs. According to the CDC, Zika illness is generally mild with a rash, fever and joint pain. CDC researchers are examining a possible link between the virus and harm to unborn babies exposed during pregnancy. DOH has a robust mosquito-borne illness surveillance system and is working with the CDC, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and local county mosquito control boards to ensure that the proper precautions are being taken to protect Florida residents and visitors. Last week, Governor Scott authorized DOH to purchase 4,000 more testing kits to test for active Zika cases (different than antibody testing kits).

Four Osceola Schools Recognized As Models for Positive Behavior Kissimmee, FL - Four Osceola County public schools have recently earned the distinction of being named as Florida's Positive Behavior Support (PBS) Model Schools for 2014-2015 for outstanding efforts in addressing student behavior through positive support. The schools recognized include: •Gold Level: Neptune Middle •Bronze Level: Flora Ridge Elementary, Horizon Middle, and St. Cloud Middle All four Osceola schools were awarded Model School status by the Department of Child & Family Studies at University of South Florida, as part of its Positive Behavior Support: Response to Intervention for Behavior Project. A PBS Model School is one that has been extremely successful in developing effective interventions for inappropriate student behavior, and in teaching and reinforcing basic social skills to help children be successful in the school setting. Each first-time Model School will receive a banner, and returning schools will receive a certificate from the University of South Florida's PBS: RtIB Project. "I am extremely proud of the efforts of these Osceola schools in earning Model School status," said Superintendent Melba Luciano. "One of our primary goals is to develop a safe and caring educational environment so that student achievement can increase. Across the district, we work to address problem behavior through positive support so that our students can focus on learning." The PBS initiative has been in Osceola County schools since 2003. Today, 25 Osceola schools and the Transportation Department are implementing PBS programs.

Sheriff & Police - Noticias / News Detienen sospechoso de agresión sexual y cargos por drogas

Detectives arrestan 2 menores que robaron a un conductor de taxi

Condado Osceola, FL - El 7 de febrero, aproximadamente a las 5:30 p.m., los agentes del Sheriff del Condado Osceola respondieron al Royal Celebration Inn ubicado en el 4944 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway en Kissimmee en referencia a una menor desaparecida. Los agentes habían recibido información de que una menor de edad, reportada como desaparecida desde Iowa podía estar en el hotel con un hombre mayor.

Upon arrival, they made contact with Eric Sinks, 37, who was with a 16-year old juvenile. Sinks cooperated with the investigation and a search of his room revealed he had methamphetamine and

drug paraphernalia. He told deputies he met the juvenile on a dating website, but she indicated she was 20 years old. They drove to Florida from Tennessee in late December and have been staying at the hotel and having consensual sex. Based on his statements and the evidence, Sinks was arrested and charged with Sexual Battery, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was booked into the Osceola County Jail. The juvenile was placed into the custody of the Department of Children and Families.

Entretenimiento / Entertainment La controversial Iselis no pudo continuar en la casa de Gran Hermano Iselis tuvo una serie de episodios en la casa de Gran Hermano que el público no le perdonó y le pasaron factura en la segunda nominación. Alguno de los incidentes fueron: querer ser siempre el centro de atracción, hablar mal de otros países, expresarse mal, ser la actríz principal de enfrentamientos en la casa, no quedarse callada y su irrevencia, terminaron con la participación de ella en la casa. Iselis es la cuarta expulsada de Gran Hermano. Las razones por las cuales Iselis abandonó la casa, fueron muy claras: 1. Al principio, cuando inició la competencia todo estaba muy tranquilo, pero con el paso de los días comenzaron las diferencias, Iselis casi siempre estuvo involucrada en cada situación incomoda de la casa, con efrentamientos que protagonizó junto con Agustín, Maday, Yaya, Pedro, Jommart, Carolina. 2. Su controversial forma de ser, al no querer callar nada a la hora de reclamar, explotar fácilmente ante cualquier situación y no tener autocontrol no le ayudó a cautivar al público. 3. Su rebeldía y transparencia desde el principio también le pasó factura y no le permitió quedarse durante más semanas en la casa, pues con los días vemos como poco a poco cada uno va sacando sus cartas de juego y su verdadero “Yo”, Iselis se mostró como era, nunca se cayó cuando algo no le parecía y su estrategia de juego no funcionó. 4. Su forma de pensar y actuar, no logró enamorar a los habitantes y se le criticaba que peleaba con alguno de sus compañeros y al segundo "Borrón y cuenta nueva". 5. Ser una de las gestoras del complot, le trajo muchas consecuencias, en repetidas ocasiones fue quien se encargó de manipular a sus compañeros de grupo “Los tigres” que estaba integrado por Dante, Jason, Catalina, Carlos y ella, para mover sus fichas y planear como iban a ir nominando

cada miércoles, y así ir sacando uno a uno a sus rivales por la lucha de los $250 mil dólares. 6. Su estilo de vida y hábitos no logró atrapar los corazones de los habitantes y el público, pues Iselis se mostró como una chica desordenada y con modales no muy adecuados para convivir con 14 personas más, por ejemplo cuando escupio en el lugar donde se lavaban los platos y cuando se limpio los pies con el trapo de la cocina y lo dejó en el mismo sitio para ser utilizado nuevamente. 7. El alcohol también hizo de las suyas con Iselis, cuando luego de la fiesta de vampiros se expresó mal de sus compañeras Maday y Yaya ante las cámaras por una situación con Dante, lo que trajo como resultado una fuerte discusión al día siguiente y con ello muchos votos en su contra. 8. Su entrañable "amor" por Dante le trajo problemas, pues hacer vínculos tan fuertes en la casa no termina siendo una buena estrategia para el juego y más con Dante que tiene tantas admiradoras dentro de la casa. 9. Ser una persona controladora como ella admitió y no poder lograr manejar todo a su favor, sacó su enojo y reaccionó de manera que a muchos de los televidentes y habitantes les incomodó, al punto que empezó a ganarse más de un enemigo dentro de la casa. 10. Los otros habitantes jugaron a la provocación con ella, juego en el que cayó en repetidas ocasiones y trajo como resultado su desesperación, enfrentamientos con sus compañeros y reclamos, que finalmente la haría quedar mal con los habitantes y el público. Iselis representó ante los ojos de muchos el papel de la "mala" de la novela, que le valió salir como la cuarta expulsada de la casa de Gran Hermano. Her lifestyle and habits failed to capture the hearts of the guests and the viewers, as Iselis showed no manners while living with 14 others, for example when she spat in the place where they washed the dishes and when she cleaned her feet with a kitchen cloth and placed it on the same place to be used again. 7. Alcohol also did what it wanted with Iselis, after the vampires party, she talked bad about her companions Maday and Yaya on camera because of a situation with Dante, which resulted in a heated argument the next day. 8. Her endearing "love" by Dante brought her trouble, because making such strong links in the house does not end up being a good strategy for the game and more with Dante who has so many fans in the house. 9. Being a controlling person as she admitted and not being able to manage everything to favor her, took out her anger and reacted in a way that many viewers and guests were uncomfortable to the point that she began to earn more than one enemy within house. 10. The other guests played the game of provoking her in which she repeatedly fell and resulted in desperation, fighting with peers and making claims, which eventually would make her look bad with the guests and the audience.
