Osceola Regional Medical Center Fall Health & Safety Festival Osceola County, FL - On Oct. 8, Osceola Regional Medical Center will host a fall health and safety festival with activities for all ages – including a costume contest, pumpkin patch, hay rides, food trucks and more. Event partners include: The Kissimmee Police Department, offering a bicycle rodeo and safety demonstration – as well as simulations on DUIs and texting while driving. A SWAT truck, fire truck and ambulance will also be on display. Local EMS crew with a fire truck and ambulance. Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, with an airboat, wildlife trailer and chance to hold an alligator. YMCA of Central Florida, offering Zumba and tumbling demonstrations. The event will feature experts on topics such as nutrition, obesity, tobacco education, heart disease, stroke, sports injuries, organ donation, asthma, poison control and first aid. City Of Kissimmee FDLE detiene a Comisionada de la Ciudad de Kissimmee Kissimmee, FL - Los agentes del Departamento de Policía de la Florida (FDLE, por sus siglas en inglés) detuvieron el martes, 27 de septiembre, a la Comisionada de la Ciudad de Kissimmee Sara Shaw y a su novio Peter Sendtko por cargos de uso fraudulento de un número de identificación personal de un fallecido y hurto. Además, a Sendtko se le acusó de la negociación de propiedad robada. La investigación se inició en septiembre del 2015, después de que el FDLE recibió información del Departamento de Policía de Kissimmee con respecto a que la pareja vivía en una residencia que era propiedad de Carol Woosley, que murió en octubre del 2011. Las empresas de servicios públicos para la residencia fueron pagadas por retiros automáticos de la cuenta bancaria del difunto. En abril del 2014, la pareja se trasladó a la residencia sin permiso y presentó una posesión adversa sin color del título con el Condado Osceola evaluadores de propiedades en un intento de establecer la propiedad de la vivienda de Woosley. De mayo 2014 a septiembre 2015, un poco más de $4600 se pagaron a los

FDLE arrests Kissimmee City Commissioner Kissimmee, FL - Agents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement today arrested Kissimmee City Commissioner Sara Shaw and her boyfriend Peter Sendtko on charges of fraudulent use of a deceased personal identification number and grand theft. In addition, Sendtko is charged with dealing in stolen property. The investigation began in September 2015 after FDLE received information from Kissimmee PD regarding the couple living in a residence that was owned by Carol Woosley, who died in October 2011. The utilities for the residence were paid by automatic withdrawals from the decedent’s bank account.
In April 2014, the couple moved into the residence without permission and filed an adverse possession without color of title with Osceola County Property Appraisers in an attempt to establish ownership of Woosley’s residence. From May 2014 to September 2015, a little over $4,600 was paid to Kissimmee utilities using the decedent’s bank account. In October 2014, Sendtko sold Woosley’s 1997 Pontiac to a relative in Michigan for $500. Both were booked into Osceola County Jail, Shaw on $3,500 bond and Sendtko on $6,000 bond. The investigation will be prosecuted by the Office of the State Attorney, 9th Judicial Circuit.

Distrito Escolar de Osceola Celebrará la Semana Universitaria Escuela Superior Profesional Del 3 al 7 de octubre de 2016. Todas las escuelas elementales, intermedias y superiores en el Distrito Escolar de Osceola estarán celebrando la Semana de las Universidades del 3 de octubre al 7 de octubre de 2016 como parte del enfoque del Plan Estratégico del Distrito, el cual es aumentar y fortalecer las vías hacia la universidad para todos los estudiantes. Osceola School District To Celebrate College Week October 3 - 7, 2016. All elementary, middle, and high schools in the Osceola School District will be celebrating College Week between October 3 through October 7, 2016, as part of the district's Strategic Plan focus on increasing and strengthening college pathways for all students. The goal of this district-wide initiative is to increase applications to technical, two-year, and four-year colleges and universities, and to educate students K-12 about postsecondary opportunities. Schools will be hosting a variety of activities including college t-shirt days, trivia, door decorating contests, application days, parent nights, and much more. Highlights of the week include: -High School College Fairs: Students in grades 9 -12 will have the opportunity to meet with multiple post-secondary representatives from colleges and universities, as well as the military on the following days: Osceola High School - September 28

KUA - Noticias / News KUA comienza su concurso de arte para estudiantes para su calendario anual Kissimmee, FL - Kissimmee Utility Authority invita a los estudiantes a utilizar el poder del arte para promover la seguridad eléctrica en el concurso de arte del calendario anual número 23 de la empresa.

KUA Seeks Entries in Student Calendar Art Contest and receive a $150 cash prize. Kissimmee, FL – Kissimmee Utility Authority invites students to use the power of art to promote electrical safety in the utility’s 23rd annual calendar art contest. The annual talent hunt is open to Osceola County students enrolled in kindergarten through grade 5, including public, private and homeschooled students. A panel of local judges will select the twelve best entries, with an electrical safety message – one for each calendar month – which will be featured in the utility’s 2017 full-color wall calendar. The twelve winning students will have their artwork featured in the 2017 calendar
A grand winner, selected from the 12 winning students, will have his/her name and artwork affixed to a KUA bucket truck for one year and be featured on the calendar cover. To further encourage participation, the grand winner’s school will receive $750 in art supplies, and the school with the most total entries in the contest will receive $500 in art supplies. The deadline to register to vote is Tuesday, Oct. 11. Among the tools offered by the NALEO Educational Fund's are its operation of a phone line bilingual and
free, 1-888-VE-Y-VOTE (1-888-8398682), which provides information on all aspects of electoral process, from voter registration, identification requirements for voters, finding your polling place, and more. On election day, the line will be connected to the protection efforts of the election at 1-866-OUR-VOTE, offering Latino voters across the country a bilingual resource for assistance and report any problems that may arise at the polls. More than 2.5 million Latinos are eligible to vote in Florida. The Hispanic community has played a fundamental role in the presidential elections of recent times. This November expectations are that more than 13.1 million Latinos will vote nationwide. This would represent 17% of the total number of voters and an increase of 8.7% in the Latino electorate in 2012. Aeropuerto Internancional de Orlando da la bienvenida al Centro de Servicios USO Orlando, FL – En celebración de su 75 aniversario, la USO abrió con orgullo su nuevo Centro de Servicio de USO en el Aeropuerto Internacional de Orlando (MCO). En medio de la pompa y circunstancia de Transportation Security Administration (TSA), una banda de música tocaba “Star and Tripes Forever" y un cantante solista cantó "God Bless America", el nuevo Centro de Servicio de la USO en MCO emprendió oficialmente su misión de ayudar de conectar a los hombres y mujeres en servicio de los Estados Unidos, mientras que viajan a través de la Florida central. "Tenemos alrededor de 700 mil miembros militares que viajan a través de este aeropuerto cada año", dice Frank Kruppenbacher, Presidente de

Orlando International Airport Welcomes USO Service Center Orlando, FL – Celebrating its 75th anniversary, the USO proudly opened its newest USO Service Center at Orlando International Airport (MCO). Sheriff & Police - Noticias / News Detectives arrestan sospechosa de prestar informe falso de robo a mano armada Condado Osceola, FL - Los detectives del Sheriff del Condado Osceola detuvieron a Cheryl Persall y la acusaron de Presentar una Denuncia Falsa, ofrecer una Declaración Oficial Falsa y Hurto. The investigation began on September 27, at approximately 4:12 a.m., when deputies responded to the toll plaza located at SR 417 southeast of I-4. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the alleged victim, Cheryl Persall, who indicated she works at the toll plaza. Earlier in the evening at 9:15 p.m. she was driving to work when she was pulled over by who she thought was an undercover law enforcement officer. The traffic stop occurred west of Westside Blvd. on Florence Villa Grove Road. Persall told deputies she exited her vehicle and approached the alleged undercover law enforcement officer when he pulled out a handgun, pointed it at her head and demand she go to work and bring him back

Persall left the traffic stop, went to the toll plaza and took approximately $9,450 dollars and returned to Florence Villa Grove Road to give the alleged suspect the money and her cell phone. She went back to the toll plaza and called law enforcement. Deputies went to the area where she indicated she left the money and her cell phone. They located a black garbage bag, but did not find the money. After further investigation, detectives discovered Persall made up the story and took the money. She told detectives she was behind on her bills and needed the money. Deputies went to where she told them she left the money and they recovered it. Based on her statements, Persall was arrested and booked into the Osceola County Jail.

Orlando City’s Playoff Chances are Dwindling at Best. Orlando, FL - Three matches remain for Orlando City and three wins would help but still would not solidify their chances of making the playoffs. After three consecutive losses to the Galaxy, D.C. United, and the Columbus Crew, the Lions have been struggling to get back on track. In the match against D.C. United, Orlando was able to hold off an aggressive United front line for 34 minutes. Despite a few opportunities, Orlando remained down by 1 at the half. In the 51st minute of play, D.C. scored their second goal off a header. Two minutes later they made it 3 goals. Orlando countered and stayed on the attack. In the 66th minute, Antonio Nocerino was sent off with a red card for a “violent elbow”. Orlando, being forced to play with ten men, found their way
on to the score board when Julio Baptista took a free kick just outside the 18. Orlando was unable to create any more opportunities but let D.C. have one more in the 90th minute and fell 4-1 on the road. Orlando traveled to Toronto to finish their two game road trip. These first hours have been challenging but we are comforted knowing that he was loved by so many and so deeply.
