Por Juan Pablo Lopez - El Osceola Star Osceola County, FL – El martes 25 de septiembre se le dio la bienvenida a Sophia, el nuevo miembro para asistir en las cirugías robóticas. Con la ayuda de SOPHIA, los cirujanos pueden realizar algunos de los procedimientos más complejos y delicados a través de incisiones muy pequeñas.

Utilizando una visión 3D de alta definición y una vista ampliada, el cirujano controla el Sistema da Vinci (Sophia), que utiliza los movimientos de manos del cirujano en movimientos más pequeños y precisos con finos instrumentos dentro del cuerpo.

El Centro Médico Regional de Osceola llama afectuosamente al robot Sophia por ser sofisticado. Ella es una extensión del equipo quirúrgico en la sala de operaciones. Sophia puede ayudar a los cirujanos en muchos procedimientos como: fibromas uterinos, ERGE por sus siglas en Ingles (reflujo gastroesofágico), histerectomías (benignas y cancerosas), vesícula biliar, hernias inguinales, incontinencia, endometriosis, cáncer de ovario, y ganglios centinela (ganglios linfáticos de mama). Sophia también puede ayudar a realizar incisiones

de sitio único a través del ombligo.

La cirugía robótica les ofrece a los pacientes una alternativa diferente a la cirugía tradicional que ofrece una recuperación más rápida, incisiones más pequeñas para cicatrices mínimas, pérdida de sangre reducida y menores riesgos. Sophia es una mejora sobre la cirugía convencional. Los médicos trabajan con el robot mirando a través de un monitor de video cercano para ver una imagen de la anatomía del paciente. Osceola County, FL - On Tuesday, September 2018, Osceola Regional Medical Center introduced Sophia, the newest member of Osceola Regional’s robotic surgery team.

With the help of Sophia, surgeons can perform some of the most complex and delicate procedures through very small incisions.

Using high-definition 3D vision and a magnified view, the surgeon controls the da Vinci System (Sophia), which translates his or her hand movements into smaller, more precise movements of tiny instruments inside the body. Osceola Regional calls affectionately the robot Sophia for being sophisticated. She is an extension of the surgical team in the operating room. Sophia can assist surgeons in many procedures such as: Uterine fibroids, GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease), hysterectomies (benign and cancerous), gallbladder, inguinal hernias, incontinence, endometriosis, ovarian cancer, sentinel nodes (breast lymph nodes). Sophia is also able to assist in performing with single-

site or single incision through the belly button.

Robotic surgery allows patients an alternative to traditional surgery offering faster recovery, smaller incisions for minimal scarring, reduced blood loss, and lower risks. Sophia is an improvement over conventional surgery. Physicians work with the robot looking up and away from the instruments to a nearby video monitor to see an image of the target anatomy.

The newest SOPHIA also extends surgeon’s capabilities to provide many significant benefits such as: Enhanced 3-D visualization, improved dexterity, greater surgical precision, improved access, increased range of motion, and surgeon’s ability to precise maneuvers such as endoscopic suturing and dissection. Though it is often called a “robot,” the da Vinci System cannot act on its own.

Prueba nacional del sistema de alerta de emergencias el 3 de octubre de 2018 Washington FEMA, en coordinación con la Comisión Federal de Comunicaciones (FCC, por sus siglas en inglés) posponen la prueba nacional del Sistema de Alerta de Emergencia (EAS, por sus siglas en inglés) y Alertas de Emergencia Inalámbricas (WEA, por sus siglas en inglés) hasta el 3 de octubre debido a los esfuerzos de respuesta en progreso del huracán Florence. La prueba WEA comienza a las 2:18 p.m. hora del este y la prueba EAS le sigue a las 2:20 p.m. hora del este. La prueba evaluará la disponibilidad operacional de la infraestructura para la distribución de un mensaje

nacional y determinará si se necesitan mejoras. El 3 de octubre es la fecha alterna previamente programada para la prueba, que originalmente estaba fijada para el jueves 20 de septiembre. National wireless presidential alert test on October 3, 2018 Washington FEMA, in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), postponed the national Emergency Alert System (EAS) test and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) through October 3 due to Hurricane Florence's ongoing response efforts. The WEA test begins at 2:18 p.m. Eastern time and the EAS test follows at 2:20 p.m. Eastern Time. The test will evaluate the operational availability of the infrastructure for the distribution of a national message

and determine if improvements are needed. October 3 is the alternate date previously scheduled for the test, which was originally set for Thursday, September 20. An alternative date is always planned in case of severe weather conditions or other important events on the date of the initial test. Every year in the United States, tens of thousands of people are killed or injured from contact with electricity.

These types of accidents are also one of the leading causes of death for children, according to statistics collected by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

As an electric utility serving 74,000 customers, Kissimmee Utility Authority is concerned about public safety. Since 1995, we have sponsored an annual student art contest, alternating themes between electrical safety and energy conservation. We emphasize safety through this initiative because research shows that key safety messages delivered early in life help establish a lifetime of good safety practices. We have officially opened the Call for Entries for our 25th annual calendar art contest. The contest is open to all Osceola County students in kindergarten through sixth grade.

Osceola Government Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month Osceola County commissioners celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month

Los comisionados del Condado Osceola celebraron el Mes de la Herencia Hispana Condado Osceola, FL – El pasado 20 de septiembre de 2018, la comisionada del distrito 2 Viviana Janer dio inicio a la celebración del Mes de la Herencia Hispana dando la bienvenida a todos los invitados presentes, recordando que hace exactamente un año el huracán María, conocida como la peor catástrofe natural, golpeó a la República Dominicana y Puerto Rico. La Comisionada Janer honró a las víctimas y un minuto de silencio fue dado en honor a aquellos que perdieron la vida.

Hubo comida típica y entretenimiento en vivo en esta celebración anual. La comisionada Janer presentó al grupo de música Plena Mar Latino quienes interpretaron música caribeña para los invitados durante la celebración seguida por una agrupación dominicana (1 + Q'otro). Un reconocimiento especial por parte de la comisionada Janer

fue realizado para el invitado especial Adlan Cruz, un pianista, compositor y productor puertorriqueño por su papel como embajador cultural exitoso, difundiendo la buena voluntad y el compromiso social inspirador en otros a través de la música y las artes. Cruz está celebrando 30 años de carrera artística. La actriz Anahilda García de la República Dominicana asistió al evento como invitada especial. También la presencia del Mayor Jacob M. El mes de la Herencia Hispana es el período de tiempo que celebra las contribuciones de hispanos / latinoamericanos a los Estados Unidos a la vez que celebra su herencia y cultura. Osceola County, FL – On September 20th, 2018 commissioner for district 2 Viviana Janer opened the event welcoming all the guests presents on that day remembering that exactly a year ago hurricane Maria known as the worst natural disaster hit the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.

Commissioner Janer honored the victims and a minute of silence was given for those who lost their lives.

Cruz is celebrating 30 years of artistic career. Anahilda Garcia actress from Dominican Republic, attended the event as a special guest. Also, the presence of Major Jacob M. Ruiz and Vivian Rodriguez was appreciated for all the guest at the event. Hispanic Heritage month is a time for celebrating the contributions of Hispanic/ Latin Americans to the United States while also celebrating their heritage and culture. Celebrating Hispanic Heritage has been and annual tradition in the United States for almost five decades.

City Of Kissimmee - Noticias/ News AeroStar, nuevo simulador de vuelo comercial se abre en Kissimmee Gateway Airport Kissimmee, FL - AeroStar Training Services organizó una ceremonia de corte de cinta el viernes 21 de septiembre para lanzar oficialmente el simulador Airbus 320, recientemente instalado en el hangar de 18,000 pronto a ser de 30,000 pies cuadrados en Kissimmee Gateway Airport. El nuevo simulador A320 está siendo utilizado por los aprendices de piloto de la escuela que trabajan en una habilitación de tipo A320 o certificado ATP, así como por las aerolíneas y organizaciones que desean secar las horas del simulador de arrendamiento.

AeroStar, New Commercial Flight Simulator opens at Kissimmee Gateway Airport Kissimmee, FL - AeroStar Training Services hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, September 21 to officially launch the on-location Airbus 320 simulator, recently installed in their new 18,000, soon-to-be 30,000 square foot, hangar facility at the Kissimmee Gateway Airport.

The new A320 simulator is being used by the school’s pilot trainees working on an A320 type rating or ATP certificate, as well as by airlines and organizations who wish to dry lease simulator hours. AeroStar also announced the recent purchase of a Boeing 737 NG full flight simulator, which will be ready for training in early 2019, and the brand-new addition of their Part 141 FAA training certificate.

This grand opening is celebrating phase one of the company’s expansion, which includes a $1.5 million dollar building addition. The addition will feature a new state-of-the-art aircraft maintenance facility, Spectrum Aero, and several new simulators that have been acquired. These simulators provide student trainees with the opportunity to complete all necessary pilot training inhouse, eliminating the need to travel to other locations for the simulator portion of their training. Phases two and three will roll out late 2018 and is estimated to cost approximately $2-3 million dollars to complete. By the time the expansion project is complete, the company will have secured over $30 million dollars in simulator assets and AeroStar will be the only school in the Americas that will be able to train pilots from obtaining a Private Pilot License to a complete Airline Transport Pilot License and type ratings on A320 or B737 under the same roof. St. Cloud - Noticias / News City of St. Cloud celebrates inaugural Pinktoberfest event St. Cloud, FL – The City of St. Cloud, St. Cloud Chamber of Commerce and the St. Cloud Charter of Pink Heals have teamed up to celebrate the inaugural Pinktoberfest event. The event, which runs from October 12th -14th , is being held to raise awareness and funds for the St. Cloud Charter of Pink Heals. This dance group is presented under Colectivo ARBOL and Sons de Mexíco Ameyal, a non-profit organization that supports the agricultural community and Mexicans newly arrived in the State of Florida. Its main mission is to unite families with folklore and Mexican culture and invite other countries to learn more about our ancient Mayan and Aztec traditions.

Locura en Gaitas Por los pasados cuatro años, la agrupación ha llevando a todos un pedacito de Venezuela con su música. Bajo la dirección de José David Angola, interpretan los géneros de salsa, merengues y guaracha. Esta mezcla de sabores y su locura única, hacen de su música la sensación de la Florida Central. Se presentan todos los viernes en el Restaurante Soneros. Fueron invitados al Festival de las Américas este año. Han estado en diferentes restaurantes locales y en fiestas privadas.

For the past four years, the group has brought to all a piece of Venezuela with their music. Under the direction of José David Angola, they interpret the salsa, meringue and guaracha genres. This mix of flavors and its unique madness, make your music the sensation of Central Florida. They are presented every Friday at the Soneros Restaurant. They were invited to the Festival of the Americas this year. They have been to different local restaurants and private parties.

These boys and girls of different ages have represented Venezuela in various cultural events for 3 consecutive years thus leaving a piece of the country in each of the hearts of the spectators. Seeking to preserve the Latino culture in the community where they can offer Latin American cultural essence to Central Florida. The purpose of Casa de la Cultura de Venezuela is to promote values for girls through learning, in the arts, dance, theater, music and other areas of diverse cultures.

On Pointe Dance Academy Enseña a estudiantes de todas las edades profesionalismo, dedicación, técnicas del arte y amor por el baile. Con la variedad de bailes que desarrollan los estudiantes llevan una educación completa en la danza. This includes Latin, Bollywood, African, Broadway Jazz, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Pointe, ballet, Contemporary, Falls and much more. Their teachers love what they do and inspire students to do the same. Its goal is to help students see their potential and achieve it.

Zumba con Ismael Aponte "El Bebo"

Ismael Aponte conocido como “El Bebo” ha ganado el título de Mr. Images International 2017 y 2018 del concurso Mr. Images International Pageant entre muchos otros premios. Conocido por obtener su certificación en Zumba Fitness a muy temprana edad ha grabado videos musicales con orquestas famosas.

Lleva su grupo de baile a participar en diferentes eventos en la Florida y dona su tiempo en actividades de caridad. Ismael Aponte ayuda a personas a alcanzar sus metas en “fitness”.

Ismael Aponte known as "El Bebo" has won the title of Mr. Images International 2017 and 2018 of the Mr. Images International Pageant contest among many other awards. Known for getting his certification in Zumba Fitness at an early age, he has recorded music videos with famous orchestras. His dance group participates in different events in Florida and he donates his time in charity activities. Ismael Aponte helps people achieve their fitness goals.

Novatos con Impacto en la NFL Orlando, FL - La temporada 2018 de la NFL apenas lleva 3 semanas, pero los jugadores de 1er año ya están teniendo actuaciones memorables y mostrando su potencial. Estos son algunos de los más llamativos al momento: QB Baker Mayfield – Browns: El mariscal de campo entró a finales del 2º cuarto en el encuentro frente a los Jets para venir de atrás y darle su primera victoria a Cleveland en 635 días. Antes de este encuentro, el récord de Hue Jackson al frente de los Cafés era de 1-1-32, pero el talento, el temple, y en gran parte el carisma de Mayfield, los llevó a festejar en grande el pasado jueves, y con ello, el ex mariscal de Oklahoma se ganó la titularidad.

LB Shaquem Griffin – Seahawks: Un conocido de Orlando, Shaqueem Griffin y su hermano gemelo, Shaquill, fueron compañeros en UCF, y hoy lo son en Seattle. Poco a poco va haciéndose de un puesto en la -ahora- débil defensiva de los Seahawks, pero es motivo de orgullo para los Knights y para todo Orlando, verlo empezar a triunfar en el futbol americano profesional.

QB Josh Allen – Bills: Inexplicablemente, Buffalo decidió nombrar a Nathan Peterman como titular en la semana 1. Después de completar 5 de 18 pases, para 0 anotaciones, 2 intercepciones y un rating de QB de 0.0, pudimos ver al novato Allen por primera vez en un partido de temporada regular en la derrota frente a los Ravens. QB Sam Darnold – Jets: Empezó de gran manera, con el triunfo aplastante frente a Detroit, aunque ha venido a menos con las derrotas ante Miami y Cleveland. Pero no cabe duda de que el futuro de los Jets está puesto en el brazo derecho de Darnold, el mejor mariscal que han tenido desde Joe Namath.

RB Saquon Barkley – Giants: La camiseta más vendida de la NFL sin haber jugado un solo partido. Barkley, junto a Beckham Jr y Engram forman uno de los mejores tríos corredorreceptor-ala cerrada en la liga. Si tan solo los Giants logran mejorar su línea ofensiva y que Eli recuerde sus mejores años, los G-men tendrían un futuro más claro.
