Sustitución del segundo sistema de trenes en el Aeropuerto Internacional de Orlando Orlando, FL - Como parte del Programa de Mejoras de Capital de 3,100 millones de dólares del Aeropuerto Internacional de Orlando, el sistema original Automated People Mover (APM) que ha transportado pasajeros entre la Terminal Principal y Gates 1-59 desde que se inauguró el aeropuerto en 1981 está siendo completamente renovado. El proceso de reemplazo de la construcción y de los trenes comenzó el 12 de octubre de 2016 y continuará hasta la primavera de 2018. El reemplazo del tren de lado 3 (Gates 3059) comenzó en junio de 2017 y será hasta la primavera de 2018. Replacement of second tram system underway at Orlando International Airport Orlando, FL - As part of Orlando International Airport’s $3.1 billion Capital Improvement Program, the original Automated People Mover (APM) system that has transported passengers between the Main Terminal and Gates 1-59 since the airport opened in 1981 is being completely renovated. The construction and train replacement process began October 12, 2016 and will continue through Spring 2018. Airside 3 (Gates 30-59) train replacement was completed in June 2017. Airside 1 (Gates 1-29) train replacement began June 2017 and will continue through Spring 2018. Airlines that may be affected during this time are: • Aer Lingus • AeroMexico • Air Berlin • Air Transat • Avianca • Azul • Copa • Eurowings • Frontier •Icelandair • JetBlue • LAN • Silver Airways • Sunwing • TAM • WestJet During the renovation process, a single APM train will remain operational. Special signage and airport personnel will assist passengers until the train returns to service. City looks for public input to improve Civic Center Kissimmee, FL.The City of Kissimmee is conducting a feasibility study for the Kissimmee Civic Center (KCC) on the possible transition to a cultural and performing arts center to increase activity in Downtown Kissimmee, complement the SunRail project, Mosaic redevelopment (Toho Square), and surrounding parks. The City’s Parks & Recreation Department is asking for public
feedback on potential improvements by completing an online survey. The results of the survey will help the City leaders determine how the 30,000-square foot multi-use facility can be used to host numerous entertainment and sporting events, banquets, and other activities. Governor Scott: New proposal will prohibit Florida from doing business with Maduro regime Orlando, Fl. – On Thursday, July 27, Governor Rick Scott released details regarding his proposal to the Trustees of the Florida State Board of Administration (SBA) that will prohibit the State of Florida from doing business with any organization that supports the Maduro regime. The Governor reiterated that he stands against Nicolas Maduro’s upcoming plans to rewrite the Venezuelan constitution to further empower his dictatorship through a Constituent Assembly on July 30th. Governor Scott said, “The atrocities happening at the hands of the brutal and oppressive Maduro regime are unspeakable. I have heard firsthand from Floridians about the need for change in Venezuela. Prohibiting the Florida State Board of Administration from making investments that support Nicolas Maduro is a big step in the right direction, and we must continue to find ways to bring freedom and democracy to Venezuela. I am encouraged by the Trump administration’s sanctions against the Maduro regime this week. President Trump’s swift actions on this issue are welcomed and I look forward to working with our federal and state partners to support democracy in Venezuela. “Nicolas Maduro’s attempt to rewrite Venezuela’s constitution and take power away from his citizens is reprehensible. This brash attempt, which completely disregards the will of the people, will not be tolerated. Legislature during the next legislative session to take more action against Maduro and his gang of thugs.” Governor Scott’s proposal that will be considered by the trustees of the State Board of Administration on August 16th prohibits the SBA from doing business with Venezuela in the following ways: •The SBA will be prohibited from investing in any securities issued by the Government of Venezuela. • The SBA will be prohibited from investing in any company that is majority owned by the Government of Venezuela. • The SBA will be completely prohibited from participating in any vote or resolution that advocates or supports the Maduro regime. • The SBA will be completely prohibited from doing business with any financial institution or U.S. company which directly, or through a subsidiary, and in violation of federal law, makes any loan, extends credit of any kind or character, advances funds in any manner, or purchases or trades any goods or services in or with the Government of Venezuela.

Osceola County, FL.- On 7/29/17 at approximately 3:27 A.M. Osceola County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area of S.R. 429 to assist Lakeland Police Department concerning a stolen vehicle. Osceola deputies set up spike strips on S.R. 429 near Sinclair Road to stop the suspect vehicle. The vehicle avoided the spike strips by going around them, which also caused the suspect vehicle to spin out in the median. Deputies approached the suspect vehicle to apprehend the suspect. As a deputy started to exit his vehicle to approach the suspect, the suspect drove towards him. The deputy fired towards the suspect vehicle as it approached him. The driver of the vehicle was injured during the incident and is currently in-custody being treated at a local hospital. No deputies or other
The suspect has been identified as Kieran J. Adams D.O.B. 5/16/2000 of Lakeland, FL and has been charged with Attempted Homicide and Grand Theft Auto. The passenger has been identified as Mercedes S. RiveraWhitford D.O.B. 7/17/2002 of Lakeland, FL and she has been charged with Grand Theft Auto. This continues to be an active investigation conducted by FDLE.
