Orlando, FL, - Florida Hospital announced it will soon be AdventHealth, part of a new consumer-centric, national brand based in Central Florida.

As part of the brand announcement, the organization unveiled new initiatives that will transform health care, including the creation of the region’s first comprehensive genomic health center. “Florida Hospital was built on a strong foundation, but it’s time we turn from the past and take a leap into the future,” said Florida Hospital President and CEO Daryl Tol. “We’re creating a health care system that’s easier to navigate, simpler to understand, more convenient, and — most importantly — focused on keeping people healthy.” All of Adventist Health System’s wholly owned hospitals and hundreds of care sites across the country, including the entire Florida Hospital network, will adopt the AdventHealth name effective Jan. 2. In Central Florida, this includes dozens of hospitals, Centra Care urgent centers, and Florida Hospital Medical Group practices. As part of the transition, Tol announced several new initiatives: Creation of the Center for Genomic Health: From disease prevention to diagnosis to treatment, genomics is the future of medicine. With genomic profiles, physicians and researchers are able to determine with unprecedented accuracy if someone is at risk for cancer, heart disease and other conditions. The foundational work for the new Center for Genomic Health will begin in 2019, and soon AdventHealth Orlando will provide comprehensive genomics testing, analysis, interpretation and genetic counseling services. Spiritual Wholeness Screening Outside the Hospital: More than 80 percent of Florida Hospital’s patients are seen at physician practices, in labs, Centra Cares or other outpatient settings, and don’t have access to spiritual services

routinely provided in hospitals. To deepen the commitment to treating the whole person — body, mind and spirit — AdventHealth is launching a wholeness screening program in outpatient offices. Physicians are being trained how to address four core questions with their patients, such as, “Do you have a source of joy in your life?” and “Do you have someone who loves and cares for you?” If a spiritual, social or emotional need is identified, specially trained team members will respond accordingly and provide follow-up care and support. Making health one click away: AdventHealth will roll out new platforms for consumers to access their medical records, make appointments, easily pay bills, and have a virtual doctor's visit. Tools such as Apple Health Records are underway, and other virtual platforms will make health care as simple as calling for a ride or ordering a pair of shoes. To celebrate the new brand rollout in 2019, AdventHealth will make eCare free to all consumers during the month of January. City shall issue corrected proclamation for 40 days of celebration of Life, Love, and Family Kissimmee, FL - On August 7, 2018, the City of Kissimmee presented various members of the region’s faith-based community with a Proclamation to celebrate communal pride and friendship to promote peace, solidarity, respect and mutual care among all residents of the City. This Proclamation was not City initiated and was requested by members of Decretos, Inc. Following the presentation of the Proclamation, the City’s actions and City officials’ actions and comments were interpreted as promoting a religious message and advancing religion over non-religion, which was not the City’s intention. City of Orlando’s home-sharing ordinance allows residents to rent a portion of their home to guests

Orlando, FL - To expose visitors to authentic Orlando experiences and provide an opportunity for residents to participate in the sharing economy, the City of Orlando recently made changes to its code to allow residents greater flexibility in renting out a portion of their home, condo or apartment to guests for short-term stays. Under the new home sharing ordinance, residents are allowed to host guests in a portion of their residence within all residential zoning districts for 30 days or less; provided that the rented portion of the home is 50 percent or less of the total number of bedrooms in the residence, that there is only one booking at a time and that the resident lives on-site and is present when hosting guests. “We are excited to offer this new opportunity

to residents in our communities,” said Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer. “Home sharing not only allows our residents the opportunity to earn extra income but gives visitors the chance to enjoy an authentic Orlando experience by staying in the heart of Orlando’s local neighborhoods.” Home sharing and these type of short term stays have grown in popularity with the growth of popular platforms such as AirBnB, VRBO and Flip Key. By requiring the home owner or tenant to be present during a booking, the city ensures the protection of the character of each neighborhood and limits the ability of large corporations or investors from buying multiple properties within the neighborhood to rent them out in their entirety. This requirement also reduces the potential for noise, parking and traffic congestion because the resident is on-site to help mitigate any issues. Residents interested in participating in home sharing must register their property with the city, and can do so using its new Beta Website, which brings more than 60 city services online, making it easier and more efficient for residents to interact and do business with the city. The ordinance took effect on July 1, 2018 but the city is offering an amnesty registration period through October 1, 2018 to give residents time to register their home as a home share rental. “By offering an amnesty period, we are allowing time for public outreach and education, giving residents the opportunity to become familiar with the new requirements for home sharing,” said Mike Rhodes, Deputy Director of Economic Development for the City of Orlando. “As a city, we made the conscious decision to only allow residents to rent a portion of their home to reduce the potential impacts renting an entire dwelling could have on housing affordability and the inventory of housing stock.”

Kissimmee - Road Construction City Commission approves street microsurfacing and mill & overlay project Kissimmee, FL - The City of Kissimmee Commission awarded the 2018 Street Micro-Surfacing and Mill & Overlay Project contract to Asphalt Paving Systems, Inc. during a regularly scheduled meeting held on Tuesday, August 7. Micro-surfacing is the process where a thin layer is applied over the existing pavement. The Mill and Overlay process is where the top layer of asphalt is removed and replaced with a new top layer. These preventative maintenance processes correct existing voids and helps protect the pavement from future deterioration. The 2018 project includes improvements and resurfacing to streets in following areas: • Mill Run area • Eagles Reserve • Cranes Cove • Hawks Nest • Areas of Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd. • North Emory Avenue

The contract awarded to Asphalt Paving Systems, Inc. totals $525,953.41 with $500,000 of the project’s cost being funded by revenue generated from the City’s Red-Light Camera program and by existing gas tax road improvement funds. The Public Works & Engineering Department per direction of the City Commission on January 8, 2013- is currently in year six of our six-year pavement management program. Micro-surfacing and mill & overlay are just some of the methods that will be used as part of the pavement management program to be more proactive in maintaining the City roads. Orlando, FL - On Thursday, August 16th, the Puerto Rican Bar Association of Florida, Inc. held Political Salsa 2018. The event featured a non-partisan political mixer and forum. It was a great opportunity for the public to get to meet their Osceola and Orange County candidates and hear about their political ideas and platforms.

The event proved to be a major success with many people in attendance. Political Salsa even gave attendees a chance to cast their vote in a straw ballot. Early voting has already begun in Orange and Osceola County. Please make sure to go out and vote for the Florida Primary Election on August 28th, 2018.

Valencia College Valencia College names Kathleen Plinske to executive Vice President and Provost Orlando, FL - Valencia College President Sandy Shugart has announced the appointment of Kathleen Plinske to the newly created role of executive vice president and provost of the college.

Valencia College nombra a Kathleen Plinske vicepresidenta ejecutiva y rectora Orlando, FL - El presidente del Valencia College, Sandy Shugart, anunció el nombramiento de Kathleen Plinske para el nuevo cargo de vicepresidenta ejecutiva y rectora. Plinske, who has served as president of Valencia Osceola Campus since 2010, oversaw construction of the colleges Lake Nona Campus in 2012 and was instrumental in mobilizing community and legislative support for the Poinciana Campus, which opened in 2017. She will continue to serve as president of the Osceola, Lake Nona and Poinciana campuses until a search for her replacement is completed. As campus president, Plinske launched Got College?, a

community-wide initiative that set out to increase the number of Osceola County high school graduates who attend college. During the first five years of that initiative, the county college-going rate increased more than 20 percent. In her new role, Plinske will lead Valencia planning process, help implement the college strategic plan and provide leadership to the college academic affairs, student affairs, educational partnerships and analytics and planning teams. She will also be charged with building relationships in the community, as well as with state and national organizations. A native of Crystal Lake, Ill., Plinske earned a bachelor’s

degree in Spanish and physics from Indiana University; a master’s degree in Spanish from Roosevelt University in Chicago, a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Florida, and a doctorate in education from Pepperdine University in California. She is also a member of Phi Beta Kappa and in 2012 was named the Outstanding Young Alumna by Indiana University. Actively involved in the community, Plinske has served as the chair of the Education Foundation of Osceola County, president of the Rotary Club of Lake Nona, and currently serves on the board of CareerSource Central Florida. In her spare time, Plinske is an avid golfer and a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan.

Florida is a national leader in election security in large part because of the strong partnership between your offices and the Florida Department of State. Over the past few years, we have worked together to increase and enhance election security, so Floridians know that their vote counts. According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), because of your diligence and the security we have in place, we know that attempts to infiltrate Florida elections in 2016 were unsuccessful. Our goal has always been maximum voter participation in Florida and zero fraud, and each of your offices plays a large role in accomplishing this mission. To keep Florida’s elections secure, we have invested millions of dollars to enhance our security. This includes the hiring of additional cyber security professionals, enhanced coordination with federal security officials and providing grant funding to locally elected supervisors of elections so they can harden their voting systems. In early August, unsubstantiated claims were made that “Russians are in Florida’s election records,” and that the Russians “have already penetrated certain counties in the state and they now have free rein to move about.” I know that state elections officials have heard directly from many of your offices about the confusion that these unsubstantiated claims have caused among voters. In fact, it was reported on August 9th, that Supervisor Brian Corley’s office in Pasco County was “literally inundated all morning with calls from people concerned about what they heard...” I don’t blame voters for being frustrated.

As you know, Florida state election officials take any threat to our elections extremely seriously. Upon hearing these comments, Secretary of State Ken Detzner immediately began pursuing answers to the unsubstantiated claims. In the days following these claims being made with no support or evidence, the Department of State has aggressively pushed for answers. The Department formally asked the Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for more information. No one has corroborated or confirmed the claims. In fact, yesterday, the DHS and the FBI formally declared in the attached letter that “…we have not seen new or ongoing compromises of state or local election infrastructure in Florida…” My message to you today is simple: according to the DHS and the FBI, there is no ongoing intrusion into Florida elections – but we must remain vigilant. You are each tasked with a sacred duty to protect the right of Florida voters to choose their elected representatives, and nothing can get in the way of that mission. As always, if you learn of any threat to our elections, notify the Department of State and the appropriate law enforcement agencies immediately and we will all work together to get to the bottom of any threat and will handle it appropriately. KUA - Noticias / News KUA recibe reconocimiento nacional por los esfuerzos de restauración eléctrica en Florida y Puerto Rico Kissimmee, FL - Kissimmee Utility Authority recibió un reconocimiento nacional de la American Public Power Association por su apoyo a los esfuerzos de restauración de energía eléctrica en Florida y Puerto Rico en 2017. Tras el huracán Irma en septiembre, KUA restauró la electricidad a sus clientes en Kissimmee dentro de 75 horas de tormenta antes de enviar a los trabajadores de línea y técnicos de plantas de energía a Orlando y Key West para ayudar con los esfuerzos de restauración. Puerto Rico Kissimmee, FL - Kissimmee Utility Authority received a national commendation from the American Public Power Association for its support of electric power restoration efforts in Florida and Puerto Rico in 2017. Following Hurricane Irma in September, KUA restored power to its customers in Kissimmee within 75 hours of the storm before sending lineworkers and power plant technicians to Orlando and Key West to assist with restoration efforts. IRS - Noticias / News Contribuyentes con hijos, otros dependientes deben verificar su retención pronto Washington — El Servicio de Impuestos Internos (IRS) anima a los contribuyentes con hijos y otros dependientes a usar la Calculadora de Retención en IRS.gov para “verificar el cheque de pago”. Taxpayers with children, other dependents should check their withholding soon Washington — The Internal Revenue Service urges taxpayers with children and other dependents to use the Withholding Calculator at IRS.gov to do a “paycheck checkup.” Changes made by the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act will affect 2018 returns that taxpayers will file in 2019. The law expanded and made significant changes to the Child Tax Credit. It also suspended the deduction for personal exemptions. Parents and caregivers should do a “paycheck checkup” to determine how these changes could affect their 2018 tax situation. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act: • Raises the Child Tax Credit from $1,000 to $2,000. • Offers the Additional Child Tax Credit for certain individuals who cannot receive the full amount of the Child Tax Credit. The Additional Child Tax Credit is up to $1,400 of the Child Tax Credit and is refundable for each qualifying child. A refundable credit may give taxpayers a refund even if they don’t owe any tax. • Changes phase-outs for the Child Tax Credit and the Additional Child Tax Credit. These credits now begin to phase out at $400,000 for couples and $200,000 for singles, compared with 2017 amounts of $110,000 for couples and $75,000 for singles. • Adds a new credit. Dependents who can’t be claimed for the Child Tax Credit may still qualify taxpayers for the Credit for Other Dependents. This is a credit of up to $500 per qualifying person. The phase-out amounts of the Child Tax Credit apply to this credit. Taxpayers can use the IRS’s Interactive Tax Assistant beginning in January to see if they’re eligible to claim the Child Tax Credit and Credit for Other Dependents. The IRS encourages all taxpayers to complete a “paycheck checkup” now so that if a withholding adjustment

is necessary, there is more time for withholding to take place evenly during the rest of the year. Waiting means there are fewer pay periods to withhold the necessary federal tax – so the change in withholding from each remaining paycheck will be much greater.

The tool allows taxpayers to enter their expected 2018 income, deductions, adjustments and credits – including the Child Tax Credit. Adjusting withholding The Withholding Calculator will recommend how to complete new Forms W-4 with all employers. If a taxpayer is at risk of being underwithheld, the calculator will recommend an additional amount of tax withholding for each job. Sheriff - Noticias / News Arresto por promover pornografía infantil Condado Osceola, FL - El 21 de julio de 2018, los Detectives de la Oficina del Sheriff del Condado Osceola recibieron una alerta sobre la descarga de posible pornografía infantil en el Condado Osceola. La investigación reveló que alguien que utilizaba la cuenta de Internet asignada a la Iglesia Católica de Santo Tomás de Aquino, ubicada en 700 Brown Chapel Road, Saint Cloud, FL 34769, descargó imágenes o datos conocidos como pornografía infantil. El 21 de agosto de 2018, los oficiales hicieron contacto con el gerente de operaciones de la Iglesia y propiedad de la escuela, Mark Dewayne Cook, de Cabo Cañaveral, FL. Cook cooperó con la investigación y admitió que se conectó al WiFi de la iglesia, en su teléfono

Promoting child pornography arrest Osceola County, FL - On July 21, 2018, Osceola County Sheriff’s Office Detectives received a cybertip concerning the download of possible child pornography in Osceola County. The investigation revealed that images and or data known to be child pornography was downloaded by someone using the internet account assigned to Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church located at 700 Brown Chapel Road, Saint Cloud, FL 34769. On August 21, 2018, detectives made contact with the Operations Manager of the Church and school property, Mark Dewayne Cook, of Cape Canaveral, FL. Cook cooperated with the investigation and admitted that he did log on to the church’s Wi-Fi, on his personal cellular phone, to utilize his Microsoft Skype account, with the intent to send/receive child sexual exploitation material. Cook was arrested on two counts of Promoting movie/photo sexual performance by a child. This is an

active and ongoing investigation and the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office is working with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to gather any additional information. Después de jugarse las Super Copas (con ese u otros nombres) en Inglaterra (Manchester City 2-0 Chelsea), España (Barcelona 2-1 Sevilla), Alemania (Bayern Munich 5-0 Frankfurt) y Francia (PSG 4-0 Mónaco), además de la europea (Atlético de Madrid 4-2 Real Madrid), estamos listos para el inicio de las ligas, ansiosos de ver los nuevos jugadores, técnicos y uniformes entrar en acción. España: Carrera de Tres Caballos. Hoy, como nunca, los 3 principales equipos españoles están muy parejos. España ha dominado el futbol europeo los últimos 5 años, y La Liga es simplemente la de mejor nivel en todo el mundo. Barcelona intentará defender sus títulos de Liga y Copa del Rey, con una plantilla ligeramente superior a la del año pasado, gracias a Vidal, Lenglet y Malcolm. Atlético tiene al mejor equipo en su historia, plagado de estrellas en todas las posiciones, y pasó de ser un equipo “pobre” a tener una de las más caras plantillas en el mundo, y son candidatos a todo.
