It rewards the best and brightest teachers and principals. It gives bonuses to every highly effective and efficient teacher. It puts a focus back on civics education and teaching our students about what made our country great. It provides scholarships to students with disabilities. It mandates recess for our students. It reduces testing. And last, but not least, it forces more money into the classroom by making the money follow the students. In other words it gives children hope and dignity. It says all children deserve a world class education.” Speaker Corcoran concluded by saying, “I want to thank Governor Rick Scott for his courage and commitment to education options for our poorest kids. The Governor has taken on the status quo his entire career and the people of Florida are
better off for it. I believe one of the great legacies of this session will be saving school childrens' futures.” Chairman Bileca said, “I commend Governor Scott for signing HB 7069 into law. This legislation has the power to transform the lives and futures of poor children across the state of Florida. It puts their future before the agenda of bureaucrats and institutions that have deprived them of the quality education they deserve. This legislation is a direct and targeted approach that will break the cycle of poverty by enabling world class schools to flourish in high poverty areas. Included in this Education Bill is the Santiago & Friends language: Excused absences for autism HB 127, that authorizes a parent to request and be granted permission for a student's absence from school for treatment of autism spectrum disorder by a licensed health care practitioner.

The event gave fresh, free food to families who do not have the opportunity or the resources to afford family meals. The event fed over 500 families. Volunteers for the event included; The Transition House, The St. Cloud Food Pantry and over 30 individuals who worked hard to serve the Osceola community.

Shoulder problems part II By Fred Cicetti The shoulder is made up of three bones: the collarbone, the shoulder blade and the upper arm bone. The shoulder is the body’s most movable joint. It is also unstable because the ball of the upper arm is larger than the shoulder socket that holds it. The unstable shoulder is held in place by soft tissue: muscles, tendons and ligaments. Common shoulder problems include dislocation, separation, torn rotator-cuff, frozen shoulder, fracture, arthritis, tendinitis and bursitis. The rotator cuff is defined as the set of muscles and tendons that secures the arm to the shoulder joint and permits the arm to rotate. Doctors diagnose shoulder problems by studying your medical history, giving you a physical examination and performing tests such as x-rays, ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Shoulder problems are most often first treated with RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation): * Rest the shoulder for two days. * Ice the injured area for twenty minutes, four to eight times per day. * Compress the painful area to reduce swelling. * Elevate the injured area with a pillow to keep it above the level of the heart. Other treatments: * Slings are used often to keep an injured shoulder in place. * After rest, stretching and exercise can improve range of motion, strengthen muscles, and prevent injury.
* Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as aspirin, ibuprofen and naproxen are used to reduce pain and swelling. * Ultrasound is used to warm deep tissues and improve blood flow. * An injection of a corticosteroid drug into the shoulder is often recommended if the injury does not improve in the first few weeks. * Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) with a small battery-operated unit may be used to reduce pain by blocking nerve impulses. * When tears are severe, surgery may be required. Seniors often can be treated without surgery for a complete rotator-cuff tear. Here are some easy exercises to strengthen shoulder muscles and prevent injuries: * Attach elastic tubing to a doorknob. Pull the elastic tubing slowly toward your body. Hold for a count of five. Repeat five times with each arm. Perform twice a day. * Lean forward and place your hands on a wall with your feet shoulder-width apart. Slowly perform a push-up. Hold for a count of five. Repeat five times. Perform twice a day. * Sit upright in a chair with armrests. With your feet touching the floor, use your arms to rise slowly. Hold for a count of five. Repeat five times. Perform twice a day. An aerobic exercise program will help improve the blood flow to a tendon or bursa. This helps reduce soreness. Smokers should quit smoking so more oxygen reaches the injured tendon. This will help the injury heal faster.

Comunidad / Community Tres Organizaciones, Dos Donaciones, Una Causa Orlando, FL – Las familias socorridas por Give Kids the World en Kissimmee, FL recibieron un detalle durante su estadía, gracias a una donación de más de 620 cajas de galletas de Girl Scout. Todos los años, las Girl Scouts de Citrus donan las galletas que no se vendieron durante su temporada de venta de galletas, a una organización sin fines de lucro en la comunidad. Every year, Girl Scouts of Citrus donates cookies that were not sold during its eight-week cookie sale program to a non-profit organization in the community. The nonprofit is selected based on its mission, organizational structure and community impact. Give Kids the World Village is an 84acre, nonprofit “storybook” resort, that provides weeklong, cost-free vacations to children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. The organization has welcomed more than 154,000 families from all 50 states and 76 countries on their wish trips since 1986; and are expected to serve 8,000 families in 2017. Making a positive impact in communities has been a focal point of Girl Scouts
back to the Central Florida Community, is through the cookie donation. This year, the donation consisted of an assortment of Girl Scouts cookies with an estimated $30,500 in total product value. Girl Scout troops and council members worked alongside volunteers to hand deliver the cookies to families at the fairytale resort. Securing and delivering the cookies would have been a significant financial undertaking if it were not for the donation of Central Moving and Storage. The company offered to donate their service and vehicles in order to successfully transport the full donation. Together, these three organizations united their resources to bring something special and unique to families who delight in the smiles that Give Kids the World brings to the faces of their children, as they enjoy a respite from the stresses of a life-threatening disease.

Captain Ruiz graduated the 2017 class after 12 weeks of attendance where he participated in visiting various agencies and companies in Osceola County. Mr. Robert Holborn is an alumnus of Leadership Osceola and received the 2017 Osceola Distinguished Leader award. Leadership Osceola is a 12-week course in which the participants learn about community topics in Osceola County. The class attendants experience real life community encounters and are offered capacity-building and skill-based learning opportunities. One of the main goals of Community Vision is the opportunity to connect people, resources and become a better community by communication.

Puerto Rico - Bon Appetit by Mrs. Fooddie El Negocio de Panchi ¡Hay lugares en el mundo donde conocen lo que es "FIESTAR!", y en Puerto Rico, aún con la actual situación se sabe muy bien cómo "alegrar el espíritu"... Sin importar lo que sucede, no cambia el ambiente acogedor y lo mucho que le gusta al puertorriqueño la buena comida y bebida. Siempre te reciben con una sonrisa y un plato de comida. Siguiendo ésta costumbre, en Puerto Rico han abierto cantidad de nuevos restaurantes, "food trucks", cantinas, barras y pequeños negocios dónde se puede degustar desde la típica comida local hasta los platos "nouvelle cuisine" de los mejores chef en la isla. En las próximas semanas estaré escribiendo sobre varios de ellos, y considero son de las mejores opciones. En la carretera PR14 de Ponce hacia Juana Díaz, se encuentra "El Negocio de Panchi". Su Chef, Panchi Zayas, ponceño, después de trabajar en
diferentes restaurantes fuera de la isla decidió volver a su tierra y comenzar nuevamente en su pueblo natal, con el magistral apoyo de su esposa y administradora, Lissy. Comenzaron en una casita pequeña alquilada a un familiar, la cual tenía buen acceso a la carretera. Compraron la misma y se expandieron hace más de diez (10) años para crear el concepto que tienen hoy día. El tentáculo de pulpo en mantequilla de azafrán es un aperitivo caliente que se te deshace en la boca por su delicadeza al paladar que se funde con el sabor exquisito de la mantequilla de azafrán. ¡Qué mezcla de sabores! ¡Como estar en España! Las zetas gratinadas, rellenas con pedazos de prosciutto, queso manchego y terminadas con una salsa de tamarindo con reducción de vinagre balsámico son un paladar por sí solas. Este "aperitivo" es un espectáculo de sabores, dulce, salado, cremoso, no
podía para de comerlas. Es un sabor que "define" a Panchi Zayas. Como plato principal, acepté la sugerencia de uno de mis lectores, el doctor Villa, con el rodaballo en guiso de garbanzos y embutidos. ¡Perfección! Cocido, con un sabor suave que contrasta con el guiso, una fusión de sabores que nunca me hubiese imaginado; un "mar y tierra" atípico y extraordinario. Tanto Lissy como Panchi, y sus atentos empleados están completamente "envueltos" e "inmersos" en el detallle, siempre pendientes a sus comensales, los cuales, en su mayoría, conocen de primer nombre. En tu próxima decisión de "tomar carretera" o simplemente buscar una de las mejores experiencias en Puerto Rico, no dejes de ir, ¡te prometo que va a ser una experiencia única! El Negocio de Panchi There are places in the world that knows what "PARTY TIME" is, Puerto Rico is one of them. Even with the current situation the locals know very well how to "cheer the spirit”... No matter what happens, it does not change the cozy atmosphere, the humility and how much the Puerto Ricans like good eating and drinking. They always welcome their visitors with a smile and a plate of food. Following customs, Puerto Ricans have opened a number of new small restaurants, "food trucks", canteens, bars and tiny businesses where you can taste the typical local food, as well as the "nouvelle cuisine" dishes of the best chefs in the island. In the coming weeks I will be writing about several of them, as I think they are some of the best options. On PR14 road from Ponce to Juana Diaz, you will find "El Negocio de Panchi". His chef, Panchi Zayas, a "Ponceño" (native of Ponce), after working in different restaurants off the island decided to return to his hometown for a "fresh start", with the masterful support of his wife and manager, Lissy. They started in a small rented cottage from a family member, who had good access to the road. They bought the same and expanded more than ten (10) years ago to create the concept they have today. The tentacle of octopus in saffron butter is a hot appetizer that melts in your mouth by its tenderness and merges with the exquisite flavor of the saffron butter. What a mix of flavors! Like being in Spain! The "mushrooms au gratin", stuffed with pieces of prosciutto, manchego cheese and finished with tamarind sauce on a reduction of balsamic vinegar is a palate and treat by itself. This "appetizer" is a show of flavors, sweet, salty, creamy; I could not stop eating them. It is a flavor that "defines" Panchi Zayas. As a main course, I accepted the suggestion of one of my "followers", Dr. Villa, with the turbot in a stew of chickpeas and sausages. Perfection! Cooked, with a soft taste that contrasts the stew, a fusion of flavors that I never imagined; An atypical and extraordinary "sea and turf". Both Lissy and Panchi, and their attentive employees are completely "wrapped" and "immersed" in the details, always looking out for their clients, who, for the most part, known by first name. In your next decision to "hit the road" or simply look for one of the best experiences in Puerto Rico, do not forget to go to, I promise you it will be a unique experience! Sheriff & Police - Noticias / News Investigación sobre drogas conduce a 14 arrestos calidad de vida de nuestros ciudadanos Condado Osceola, FL - El viernes 16 de junio de 2017, la oficina del alguacil del Condado Osceola diligenció 3 órdenes de arresto que estaban bajo investigación. La investigación llevada a cabo por la oficina de investigación de narcóticos del condado Osceola, el equipo de policía turísticas y el equipo de respuesta criminal. La investigación obtuvo los siguientes resultados: 1,410 gramos de heroína, 24 gramos de cocaína y 37 gramos de píldoras Xanax; en adición 4 armas de fuego y $145,387 en efectivo. La investigación resultó en el arresto de 14 personas. La presencia de drogas ilegales en nuestra comunidad plantea problemas significativos de seguridad pública. The investigation led to the following results: 1,410 grams of Heroin, 24 grams of Cocaine, and 37 grams of Xanax Pills; in addition to 4 firearms and $145,387 in U.S. Currency recovered. The investigation resulted in the arrest of 14 individuals.

Orlando City vs. Montreal Impact empatan 3-3 Por: Sophia Hernández Orlando, FL - Después de una dura semana para Orlando City era necesario que fueran a su próximo partido fuerte y eso es exactamente lo que hicieron. El 17 de junio, jugaron contra el Montreal Impact con la esperanza de una victoria. Aunque ellos empataron el equipo definitivamente trabajaron juntos como un todo y lo dieron todo. En el minuto 7 Pérez García hizo el primer gol de la noche y su primero en el club. En este momento tuve la sensación de que iba a ser un gran juego, y evidentemente lo fue. A los 16 minutos ambos equipos se empataron 1-1, pero en el minuto 23 Orlando City anotó
de nuevo y esta vez fue de Carlos Rivas. Lo que más sorprendió fue el hecho de que Montreal Impact hizo dos goles en dos minutos, 58 y 59. Después de que ya habían pasado 90 minutos, se agregaron 6 más y en el 93º Orlando City anotó, otra vez otro gol dejando el marcador 3-3. El entrenador Kreis estaba orgulloso de su equipo, crearon muchas oportunidades y trabajaron juntos, agregó: "Los puntos negativos, obviamente son que pensé que les dimos los tres goles". En general, en mi opinión se están uniendo realmente así como un equipo en el campo, este partido fue definitivamente uno que no se debió perder.

On June 17th, they went against Montreal Impact in hopes for a win. Although they tied the team most definitely worked together as a whole and gave it their all. At minute 7 Pérez García made the first goal of the night and his first in the club. At this moment I had a feeling this was going to be a great game, and evidently it was. At the 16th minute both teams became tied 1-1, yet at the 23rd minute Orlando
City scored once again and this time it was from Carlos Rivas. What struck as a shock was the fact that Montreal Impact made two goals in two minutes, 58 and 59. After 90 minutes had already passed, 6 more were added and at the 93rd Orlando City scored, once again another goal leaving the score 3-3. Coach Kreis was proud of his team, they created a lot of chances and worked together as a whole, he added “The negatives, obviously are that I thought we gave them all three goals.” Overall, in my opinion they are coming together really well as a team on the field, this match was definitely one to watch.
