Central Florida Florida Sesión Actualización Legislativa Condado Osceola, FL - El pasado martes, 5 de abril, la Cámara de Comercio de Kissimmee/ Osceola llevó a cabo la Sesión de Actualización de la Legislatura de la Florida en el Osceola Heritage Park presentado por Walt Disney World Resort. El senador Darren Soto, el Representante Mike LaRosa, el Representante Neil Combee, el Representante John Cortes y la Senadora Kelli Stargel se dirigieron a los asistentes y se les dio la oportunidad de presentar sus logros y sus proyectos aprobados durante el año pasado.

Florida Legislative Session Update Osceola County, FL - Last Tuesday, April 5, the Kissimmee/ Osceola Chamber of Commerce held the Florida Legislative Session Update at the Osceola Heritage Park presented by Walt Disney World Resort. Senator Darren Soto, Representative Mike LaRosa, Representative Neil Combee, Representative John Cortes and Senator Kelli Stargel addressed attendees and were given the opportunity to present their achievements and projects approved during the last year.

Before he was President, he was a law professor. My professor. For more than 10 years, President Obama taught at the University of Chicago Law School, an institution known for its commitment to full and vigorous debate from all sides of the intellectual spectrum. It's where the late Justice Antonin Scalia served as a professor for several years and developed his originalist view of the Constitution. It’s a school where all points of view are treated with respect and are subject to the same rigorous challenge. And it's where President Obama will return this afternoon for the first time since moving into the White House to talk with law students about the enduring benefits of an impartial Supreme Court and how the current confirmation process holds the potential longterm consequences for some of our most important constitutional values. For the first time in recent memory, Senate Republicans are flatly refusing to consider a Supreme Court nomination because they hope another party will win the next election. It isn't clear whether the Senate will ultimately deny the President's nominee a hearing or a vote for the
entire year, so before positions harden, this is a good time for all of us to step back and think about the broader costs of this potential action to our judiciary. Professor Obama always insisted on class discussion. He didn’t like to lecture. Rather, he liked to present difficult questions and require students to consider the logical extension of their arguments and decide whether they still maintained their positions. Professor Obama, like most law professors, used hypotheticals to illustrate his point. So consider this one: What if the next Senate declared that absolutely no Supreme Court appointments would be considered not just in the last year of the President's term, but for the President's entire term, regardless of how many vacancies might pile up, because they hoped someone else would be elected four years later? We all want judges that are respected, independent, nonpartisan, and fair to everyone. Se anima a los clientes a llegar temprano; los solicitantes serán atendidos en orden de llegada. La oficina de Orlando Sand Lake Post, 10450 Turkey Lake Rd, Orlando FL 32819, realizará la Feria del pasaporte el sábado, 23 de abril de 10:00 a.m. a 2:00 p.m. Las citas no son necesarias para ese día. Los ciudadanos de Estados Unidos deben presentar un pasaporte válido al entrar o volver a entrar en los Estados Unidos por vía aérea. Customers are encouraged to arrive early; applicants will be served on a first-come, firstserved basis. Orlando Sand Lake Post Office, 10450 Turkey Lake Rd, Orlando FL 32819, is holding a Passport Fair on Saturday, April 23, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Appointments are not required on this day. U.S. citizens must present a valid passport book when entering or reentering the United States by air. U.S. citizens entering the United States from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda at land borders and sea ports of entry must present a passport book, passport card or other travel documents approved by the U.S. government. To obtain a passport applicants need to: • Bring proper proof of American citizenship. This must be either a certified birth certificate issued by the city, county or state; a previous U.S. passport; a certificate of citizenship; or a naturalization certificate. (Please note: a hospital-issued birth certificate alone is not acceptable.) • Bring proof of identity. This must be either: a recently issued U.S. passport; a recently issued naturalization certificate; a recently issued certificate of citizenship; or a current valid driver’s license, government ID or military photo ID. • Bring a photocopy of proof of identity. Each applicant must bring a photocopy of the front and back of the ID that will be presented at the time of passport acceptance. • The passport application requires recent color passport photograph of you (2” x 2” in size). The Post Office will offer passport photo service for $15. • To save time, customers should download the passport application at www.travel.state.gov and complete beforehand. Do not sign the application.
• All applicants must appear in person (including minors). • Minors under the age of 16 must appear with both parents. If one parent is not available, a notarized authorization from the absent parent is required. Each passport for an adult must be accompanied by a check or money order for $110, made payable to the U.S. Department of State and a $25 acceptance fee made payable to USPS. Fees for children under 16 are $80, payable to the U.S. Department of State and $25 payable to USPS. Honoring / Recordando Condado Osceola devela letreros de estacionamiento para veteranos heridos en combate
Ciudad de Kissimmee anuncia Memorial Service Employee
Condado Osceola, FL – En unión a un movimiento que está en crecimiento tanto en las empresas como en el gobierno, honrando a los veteranos heridos con espacios de estacionamiento designados, el Condado Osceola dio a conocer dos de los letreros.
Kissimmee, FL - La ciudad de Kissimmee llevó a cabo su servicio conmemorativo anual para los empleados el viernes, 25 de marzo frente a la Alcaldía de Kissimmee.
Los letreros dicen “Herido en Combate” y tienen un corazón púrpura en metal como símbolo. Los primeros dos letreros se colocaron en el complejo Beaumont donde
está localizada la Oficina del Condado para los Veteranos. Se está planificando colocar otros letreros en la Corte, Centro Gubernamental y otras propiedades, dijeron los oficiales. Se estima que hay 1.8 millones de recipientes de Corazones Púrpura, quienes han hecho una transición a la vida civil, de acuerdo con el proyecto de Apoyo a las Familias de Guerreros Heridos, quienes proveen los letreros de forma gratuita.
La junta acordó permitir los letreros recientemente después de que el Comisionado Hawkins presentó la idea – algo que le propuso el residente Peter Olivo, quien sirvió en Vietnam, donde perdió ambas piernas. En años recientes, los letreros se han colocado en estacionamientos de Negocios, Iglesias, Escuelas, Oficinas de Gobierno y Médicas de costa a costa.
La Ciudad de Kissimmee, Toho Water Authority y Kissimmee Utility Authority contribuyeron a este programa para recordar a sus empleados que han
fallecido y honrar a aquellos que se han retirado. El servicio reconoció a los empleados cuyos nombres están grabados en un monumento permanente en los terrenos del Ayuntamiento. Funcionarios y empleados de las tres entidades participaron y el público también estuvo bienvenido.
City of Kissimmee Announces Employee Memorial Service Kissimmee, FL - The City of Kissimmee held its Annual Employee Memorial Service on Friday, March 25th in front of Kissimmee City Hall. The City of Kissimmee, Toho Water Authority and Kissimmee Utility Authority all contributed to this program to remember their employees that have
passed and honor those that have retired. The Service acknowledged employees whose names are engraved on a permanent monument on the grounds of City Hall. Officials and employees from all three entities participated and the public was also welcomed.

Osceola County Unveils Parking Signs for Combat Wounded complex where the county’s The board agreed to allow Osceola County, FL – Joining a growing movement of businesses and governments honoring wounded veterans with designated parking spaces, Osceola County unveiled two of their signs. The signs read “Combat Wounded” and have a Purple Heart medal symbol on them. The first two signs were placed at the Beaumont
office for veterans is located. Other signs are planned for the courthouse, government center and other properties, officials said. There are an estimated 1.8 million Purple Heart recipients who have transitioned back into civilian life, according to the Wounded Warriors Family Support project, which provides the signs for free.

El propósito de este servicio especial fue el de reconocer y recordar a los empleados retirados del municipio que han fallecido y los empleados del municipio que fallecieron durante su servicio a la ciudad. El tema de la ceremonia fue “Una ocasión para recordar, una ocasión
para reflexionar, una ocasión para recordar a algunos de los mejores”. El Supervisor de la División del Manejo de Emergencias del Municipio de St. Cloud Bill Johnston ofreció un mensaje muy inspirado sobre la importancia de la vida. Él leyó los nombres de los 65 empleados que han fallecido, mientras que sus compañeros de trabajo, familiares y amigos colocaron flores en una zona conmemorativa en honor a todos ellos.

City of St. Cloud presents its annual employee/ retiree memorial service St. Cloud, FL – The City of St. Cloud Human Resources staff hosted the 10th Annual City of St. Cloud Employee/ Retiree Memorial Service April 1 at City Hall. The purpose of this special service was to acknowledge and remember City retirees who have passed away and City employees who passed away while serving the city. The theme for the
ceremony was “A time to remember, a time to reflect, a time to remember some of the best”. Division of Emergency Management Manager Bill Johnston led the ceremony and delivered an inspirational
message of the importance of life. He read the names of the 65 employees who have passed away while fellow employees, family members and friends placed flowers in a memorial area to honor them all.

Harmony High School Batalla de los Libros 2016 Harmony High Battle of the Books fue el evento más competitivo en la historia de la escuela . Mayor Dyer Heads Up Cattle Drive Through Downtown Kissimmee for the best seat in the house are $80 Osceola County, FL – Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer lead a cattle drive through downtown Kissimmee on April 4 in a celebration of Osceola’s wthat will kick off the 2016 RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo.
Dyer, who grew up in Osceola County, will be the “Trail Boss,” a position he seems well-suited for based on a description from the 1890s that lists essential qualities like: leadership, competence and cool-headedness. In year two of a 10-year run, host Osceola County is working hard to raise the bar on the fan experience and stamp the PRCA’s second-largest event as a signature affair. Blending the past with the future, competitors in the RNCFR, dignitaries, and some real life Florida cattlemen drove approximately 25 head of cattle down Broadway in downtown Kissimmee starting at 3 p.m. on Monday, April 4. The road was closed to traffic until 5 p.m., with detour signage in place. The drive recalls the days when Kissimmee was the “Cow Capital of Florida” and stray cattle were left penned by the courthouse until their owners claimed them. Non-cowboys were encouraged to watch the fun from along Broadway and enjoy an after party on Dakin Avenue. Tickets for the RNCFR, to be held April 7-10, range in price from $15 to $25 for single event tickets depending on the performance. En la comunidad Papatlatla, se construyó el techo de la plaza cívica de la Telesecundaria 264, donde padres de familia, alumnos y sociedad civil aplaudieron el esfuerzo de los emigrantes en Estados Unidos, respaldado por el gobierno. Onésimo Serrano y Daniel Teyssier cortaron el listón inaugural, acompañados de autoridades municipales y la comunidad escolar, y reconocieron la voluntad del presidente Enrique Peña Nieto para impulsar el
programa 3x1 de Sedesol. Onésimo Serrano González, titular de la Sedesol en Hidalgo, informó que la dependencia impulsó siete obras del programa 3×1 para emigrantes en comunidades marginadas de Calnali, destinó una inversión de 3.5 millones de pesos, aportados por los tres órdenes de gobierno y el club Dallas Migrantes. Sheriff - Noticias / News Delincuente Arrestado por Robo y Asalto Agravado Condado Osceola - El 30 de marzo, aproximadamente a las 11:53 a.m., los agentes del Sheriff del Condado Osceola respondieron al 2830 Old Canoe Creek Road en St. Cloud en referencia a una alarma de robo. A su llegada, los agentes hablaron con el demandante quien indicó que le avisaron de que la alarma de la casa de su mamá se había activado. Four games left for Orlando Magic Orlando, FL - Despite missing the playoffs again, the Magic have continued to fight to get in a few more wins. After a close loss to the Milwaukee Bucks, Orlando went on to surprise everyone with a dominating win over the Memphis Grizzlies. Nik Vucevic led the team with 25 points. This was the third straight game Coach Skiles has used Vucevic off the bench. Rather than start him, Skiles says this is a better way to monitor his minutes since his return from his injury. Evan Fournier and Victor Oladipo added 22 each as the Magic handed Memphis their sixth straight loss. On Wednesday at the Amway Center, the Magic struggled down
the stretch and lost 108 to 104 to the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons are hanging on every win as they fight for the 8th spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs. The Magic made it tough for them. Despite struggling in the first half, Fournier led the team in scoring with 19. The Magic had 5 point lead going into the fourth quarter but like we've seen all season, they couldn't close the game. The Pistons rallied back to take the win. In their final games the Magic will host Miami tonight. The two teams meet again in Miami on Sunday. The Magic will return to host the Milwaukee Bucks in their final home game Monday night before heading to Charlotte to play their final game of the season.

Orlando City aún si sufrir una derrota Orlando, FL - Orlando City ha tenido un comienzo estelar en su nueva temporada. Son el único equipo de la Conferencia del Este que todavía no ha sufrido una derrota. El City se enfrentó al actual campeón de la MLS, el Portland Timbers, el domingo pasado en el Citrus Bowl ante más de 30,000 aficionados. Kaká hizo su regreso a la cancha luego de perderse los tres primeros partidos por una lesión. Le tomó 14 minutos a Orlando conseguir llegar al marcador. Kaká hizo un tiro libre desde 40 yardas. Éste le envió el balón perfectamente a Seb Hines quien pudo enviar el balón en la portería. En el minuto 32 de juego, con una jugada brillante de pared entre Kaká y Brek Shea Orlando consiguió su segundo gol. Shea mandó un potente disparo al otro lado de la red. Este fácilmente podría ser mi gol favorito de la temporada.
Al Timbers le fue otorgado un penal a sólo dos minutos antes del medio tiempo. Joe Bendik hizo una increíble parada. A sólo tres minutos de la segunda mitad Kaká anotó el tercer gol de Orlando. Después de recuperar la posesión del medio y pasarla a Kevin Molino, Kaká se movió por el campo y tomó posición. Molino envió el balón de nuevo a Adrian Winter quien la impulsó de nuevo a Kaká. El brasileño lo envió directamente al fondo de la red. El cuarto y último gol de Orlando vino de Kevin Molino. Molino fue arrastrado hacia abajo en el cuadro ganando un penal. Orlando City has yet to suffer a loss Orlando, FL - Orlando City is off to a stellar start in their new season. They are the only team in the Eastern Conference who has yet to suffer a loss. City played the reigning MLS Champs, the Portland Timbers, last Sunday at the Citrus Bowl in front of over 30,000 fans. Kaka made his return to the pitch after missing the first three games to injury. It took 14 minutes for Orlando to get on the scoreboard. Kaka took a free kick from 40 yards out. He sent the ball perfectly to Seb Hines who was able to nods the ball into the goal. In the 32nd minute of play, in a brilliant give and go play between Kaka and Brek Shea Orlando got its second goal. Shea sent a powerful strike into the far side of the net. This could easily be my favorite goal of the season.

The Timbers were awarded a penalty kick just two minutes before half time. Joe Bendik made an incredible save. Just three minutes into the second half and Kaka would score Orlando's third goal. After regaining possession at the half and passing it over to Kevin Molino, Kaka moved down the field and into position. Molino sent the ball back in to Adrian Winter who one touched it back to Kaka. The Brazilian sent it straight into the back of the net. Orlando's fourth and final goal came from Kevin Molino. Molino got dragged down in the box earning a penalty kick. This was Molino's first professional goal. The Timbers only goal came in the 90th minute of play when the ball deflected off one of their players backs. Tonight, Orlando City will play in Philadelphia against The Union.

Rafael was always selfconfident of his place in the house and even more when he had the opportunity to return after being expelled.
