Kissimmee News Alcalde Dyer llevará ganado a través del centro de Kissimmee junto a comisionados Condado Osceola, FL – El Alcalde de Orlando Buddy Dyer llevará una unidad de ganado por el centro del pueblo de Kissimmee el 4 de abril en una celebración de la cultura ganadera de Osceola que dará inicio a las Finales del Rodeo del Circuito Nacional RAM del 2016. Dyer, quien creció en el Condado de Osceola, será el "Jefe de Camino" una posición que para el parece muy adecuada basado en una descripción
de la década de 1890 que muestra cualidades esenciales como: liderazgo, habilidad y calma. El mezclar el pasado con el futuro, competidores del RNCFR, algunos verdadero ganaderos de la Florida y dignatarios llevarán el 4 de abril aproximadamente 25 bueyes de cuernos largos por la calle Broadway en el pueblo de Kissimmee a partir de las 3 p.m. El camino se cerrará al tráfico hasta las 5 p.m., con rótulos de desvío.

Mayor Dyer Heads Up Cattle Drive Through Downtown Kissimmee with commissioners Osceola County, FL – Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will lead a cattle drive through downtown Kissimmee on April 4 in a celebration of Osceola’s ranching heritage that will kick off the 2016 RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo. Dyer, who grew up in Osceola County, will be the “Trail Boss,” a position he seems well-suited for based on a description from the 1890s that lists
essential qualities like: leadership, competence and cool-headedness. Blending the past with the future, competitors in the RNCFR, dignitaries, and some real life Florida cattlemen will drive approximately 25 head of cattle down Broadway in downtown Kissimmee starting at 3 p.m. on Monday (April 4). The road will be closed to traffic until 5 p.m., with detour signage in place.

City of Kissimmee Announces Public Meeting for Lancaster Ranch Site Kissimmee, FL — The City of Kissimmee will host a public meeting regarding the Lancaster Ranch site on Wednesday, April 6 at 7:00 p.m. at the Kissimmee Civic Center.
Pleasant Hill Road. Shingle Creek runs along the south edge of the property. Once completed, the Shingle Creek Regional Trail bike and pedestrian path will bisect the park.
The City of Kissimmee is undertaking a Master Plan Study for the Lancaster Ranch site. This 110 acre site is situated on the southern edge of the City of Kissimmee’s city limits and is currently being leased for grazing rights. The property is located on the east side of John Young Parkway, just north of
AECOM Technical Services, Inc. (AECOM) is hosting the public meetings to gather input from the community and stakeholders in the area relative to the future vision for this park site. City Staff and the AECOM Master Planning team will be on hand to discuss this significant project and answer questions.

Orange Star News Aeropuerto Internacional de Orlando fomenta uso de lotes de teléfonos celulares Orlando, FL - El Aeropuerto Internacional de Orlando (MCO), en medio de su temporada de viajes más ocupado por las vacaciones y el descanso de primavera, recibió más pasajeros este pasado sábado 26 de marzo que en cualquier otro momento de la historia aeropuerto. El número récord de viajeros, combinado con las mejoradas medidas de seguridad, se traduce en más vehículos y tráfico en las vías del sistema aeroportuario. Para hacer frente al volumen, las autoridades estimulan la necesidad de que los pasajeros lleguen 2-3 horas antes para el procesamiento de vuelo. También sugieren fuertemente que el público utilice los dos lotes gratuitos de teléfonos celulares ubicados en las entradas norte y sur hasta el aeropuerto cuando se espera a los pasajeros que llegan. Ambos están bien iluminados y ofrecen fácil acceso a la terminal principal. El lote de celulares del Norte cuenta con 200 espacios,
conexión Wi-Fi, servicio de baños, pantallas de visualización de vuelo para realizar un seguimiento de la llegada del miembro de su familia e incluso una zona de alivio para perros. El uso de los lotes de teléfonos celulares también está recomendado por el Departamento de Policía de Orlando, que patrulla las vías de acceso y los lotes de teléfonos celulares con regularidad. Durante las horas pico se ha producido un aumento en el número de autos estacionados a un lado de las carreteras de entrada, lo que impide el flujo de tráfico y la seguridad. Los lotes de celulares son una alternativa mucho más segura y conveniente. El récord anterior de pasajeros del aeropuerto internacional de Orlando se estableció el pasado sábado, 19 de marzo, cuando aproximadamente 159 mil pasajeros se movieron a través de MCO.
Orlando International Airport encourages use of cell phone lots Orlando, FL – Orlando International Airport (MCO), in the midst of its busiest holiday/Spring Break travel season ever, received more passengers this last Saturday March 26, than at any time in airport history. The record number of travelers, combined with enhanced security measures, translated in more vehicles and traffic on the airport roadway system. To handle the volume authorities encourage the need for passengers to arrive 2-3 hours early for flight processing. They also strongly suggest that the public utilize the two free cell phone lots located at the North and South entrances to the airport when waiting for arriving passengers. Both are well-lit and provide easy access to the main terminal building.
The North cell lot also features 200 spaces, free Wi-Fi, restroom facilities, flight display screens to track family member’s arrival and even a dog relief area. Use of the cell phone lots is also encouraged by the Orlando Police Department, which patrols the roadways and cell phone lots on a regular basis. During peak travel times there has been an increase in the number of cars pulled off to the side of the entrance roads, which impairs safety and traffic flow. The cell lots are a much safer and convenient alternative. The previous Orlando International Airport passenger record was set last Saturday, March 19, when approximately 159 thousand passengers moved through MCO.

El gobernador de Puerto Rico Alejandro García Padilla se reunió con los candidatos a la gobernación Alexandra Lugaro, Manuel Cidre y Rafael Bernabé para discutir y buscar consenso sobre los puntos que quiere incluir en la enmienda al proyecto de la Junta de Control Fiscal Federal. El gobernador propone que se reestructure la deuda, que se apruebe una moratoria para la litigación, que las circunstancias que se impongan surjan de entidades democráticas puertorriqueñas y que se legislen mecanismos para levantar la economía del país.
El gobernador Alejandro García Padilla habla sobre la Junta de Control Fiscal Federal La Fortaleza - El gobernador Alejandro García Padilla ha autorizado las siguientes expresiones sobre el borrador propuesto por el Congreso de una Junta de Control Fiscal federal. “La reciente discusión sobre los méritos del anteproyecto preparado por la Cámara baja del Congreso de los Estados Unidos evidencia que se ha comprendido que la deuda, según contraída por pasadas administraciones, es insostenible y tiene ancladas las posibilidades de recuperación del pueblo de Puerto Rico. El liderato de la mayoría Republicana ha accedido a nuestro reclamo de brindarle a Puerto Rico las herramientas legales para una reestructuración ordenada de la deuda. El anteproyecto reconoce la necesidad de una reestructuración amplia y destaca la oportunidad para la misma. Ahora bien, ese poder de reestructuración no sería oponible a los acreedores hasta que una junta federal lo determine. De la manera propuesta resulta deshonroso y degradante. A costa de más y mayores sacrificios de los puertorriqueños – en beneficio de nuestros acreedores – se lograría acceso a ese mecanismo de reestructuración tan necesario. Esa condición no es aceptable. El estado de derecho sobre las relaciones entre Puerto Rico y Estados Unidos no permite dejar sin efecto la Constitución del Estado Libre Asociado para concentrar el poder del gobierno en un cuerpo no electo por los puertorriqueños. De aprobarse una legislación como esa, Puerto Rico la impugnará inmediatamente en los tribunales federales y ante la comunidad de
naciones. Confío en que, en lo que se refiere a la junta, la legislación que finalmente se apruebe diste considerablemente de la que se discute y reitero mi disponibilidad para continuar trabajando con el Congreso en lograr una solución bipartita que respete el derecho inalienable de los puertorriqueños a autogobernarse. Si a cambio de la facultad jurídica de reestructuración ordenada de la deuda, es necesaria una junta de supervisión, ni su punto de partida ni su conclusión, puede ser el asesinato de la democracia puertorriqueña. En este momento histórico donde podría estar en riesgo a muy corto plazo la continuación de la provisión de servicios esenciales a nuestra gente, cualquiera que pretenda reducir este asunto a una mera discusión del estatus, exclusiva de la dinámica partidista, le hace daño al país y a sus posibilidades. El anteproyecto debe verse solo como el acercamiento inicial del Congreso para cumplir con su compromiso de brindar a Puerto Rico una solución comprensiva a la situación fiscal. Los puertorriqueños debemos presentar un frente unido en oposición a una junta que priva al país de un gobierno propio. Para ello, esta semana estaré convocando para reunión a los candidatos a la gobernación de todos los partidos políticos y a otros sectores gubernamentales y no gubernamentales para unirnos en ese reclamo básico, sin distraernos con la discusión político partidista, para adelantar la recuperación de nuestras futuras generaciones”.
Federally Appointed Financial Control Board for Puerto Rico La Fortaleza - Gov. Alejandro García Padilla has authorized the following message on the proposal by Congress of the Federal Fiscal Control Board. "The recent discussion on the merits of the draft prepared by the House of Representatives of the United States Congress shows that debt, as contracted by past administrations, is unsustainable and has anchored the chances of recovery of the people of Puerto Rico. The leadership of the Republican majority has agreed to our demand to provide Puerto Rico the legal tools for orderly debt restructuring. The draft recognizes the need for extensive restructuring and highlights the opportunity for it. However, that power restructuring would not be enforceable against creditors until a federal board is determined. As proposed, it is dishonorable and degrading. At the cost of more and greater sacrifices of Puerto Ricans - to the benefit of our creditors access to that mechanism is necessary so restructuring can be achieved. That condition is not acceptable. The rule of law on relations between Puerto Rico and the United States does not allow nullifying the Constitution of the Commonwealth to concentrate government power in an unelected body by Puerto Ricans. If the legislation is approved, Puerto Rico will challenge immediately the federal courts and before the community of nations. I am
confident that, with respect to the board, the legislation approved reiterates my willingness to continue to work with Congress to achieve a bipartisan solution that respects the inalienable right of Puerto Ricans to govern themselves. If a change is made in the legal power to orderly debt restructuring, an oversight board, your starting point and its conclusion are unnecessary, it may be the killing of Puerto Rican democracy. At this historic moment where we could be at risk in the very near future with regards to the continued provision of essential services to our people, anyone who intends to reduce this matter to a mere discussion of status, exclusive of party dynamics, hurts the country and its possibilities. The draft should be seen only as the initial approach of Congress to fulfill its commitment to provide a comprehensive solution to Puerto Rico's fiscal situation. Puerto Ricans must present a united front opposed to a board that deprives the country of its own government. To do this, this week I will be calling for a meeting with the gubernatorial candidates of all political parties and other governmental and nongovernmental sectors to join us in this basic claim, without being distracted by partisan political debate, to advance the recovery of our future generations”.

El Kissimmee Valley Rib Rodeo incluyó sobre 40 equipos de profesionales y no profesionales del BBQ de toda la Florida, en adición a Georgia y Ohio
compitiendo en cuatro tipos de carne. The Kowtown Festival sponsored by Kissimmee Utility Authority Kissimmee, FL – Kissimmee Main Street and the City of Kissimmee presented the 2016 Kowtown Festival at the Kissimmee Lakefront Park this past Saturday, March 26, 2016. Thousands were in attendance as this year’s Kowtown Festival celebrated Kissimmee’s 133rd Birthday. The festivities included the Kissimmee Valley Rib Rodeo, a BBQ Competition sanctioned by the Florida BBQ Association. Other activities included live music from Lauren Lester and Patrick Gibson, K92FM’s Bobby Mitchell, cold beer provided by Yuengling Lager, KUA Kid’s Power Zone, the annual hot dog eating contest sponsored by Willy’s Wieners, local vendors, delicious BBQ and three birthday cakes provided by Sam’s Club Kissimmee. Ohio, competing in four meat categories Willy’s Wieners sponsored the hotdog eating contest where contestants raced to see who can finish eating the most hotdogs within two minutes. The winner of the hot dog eating contest was Michael from Cocoa, FL who beat the standing record by eating 8 hot dogs. He will receive a $25 gift card to Willy’s Wieners and all competing contestants will receive a Willy’s Wieners t-shirt for participating. Martin Saavedra—who built a successful printing business in Tampa that still stands strong today— decided to create an organization devoted to assisting Hispanics to start and build successful businesses. He brought together elected officials, fellow business owners, and community leaders to build the foundation for today’s Hispanic Business Initiative Fund of Florida. Twenty-five years after it was established in Tampa, HBIF has made a positive impact on thousands of individuals, families, and Florida’s overall economy. St. Cloud Art in Public Places artwork on display St. Cloud, FL – Local artists are participating in the 4th Annual St. Cloud Art in Public Places (SCAPP) exhibition that begins April 1 in City Hall. St. Cloud Mayor Rebecca Borders debut the program in 2013. The original artwork is available for viewing Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., except during official holidays. SCAPP is divided into four cycles – April, May, June and July.
All artwork displays will include contact information and viewers may get in touch with each artist for more information on their original artwork. Some of the artists have their original artwork available for purchase and some may offer smaller versions of their artwork. City of St. Cloud preventive measures prove effective during excessive rainfall St. Cloud, FL – Rain, wind, thunder and lightning arrived at St. Cloud City Hall late in the evening during the March 24 council meeting. City of St. Cloud management staff immediately began monitoring the rainfall to ensure the municipality’s preventive measures and quick actions would reduce any impact to the city. Four inches of rain were recorded at the City’s Emergency Operations Center late into the night March 24 and into the early hours of March 25. Although a tornado warning was issued for several Central Florida areas, no tornados were reported in St. Cloud. City crews were out around the city until about 2:30 a.m. March 25 monitoring several areas. Pre-staged pumps in critical areas, including one at an Esprit subdivision retention pond, allowed for a quick start to reduce flooding. Crews also placed road-closure signs where necessary and cleared inlets. St. Cloud Fire Rescue and St. Cloud Police Department crews were also on increased alert. City of St. Cloud Public Services staff reminds all city residents
of the proper procedures for disposal of debris in the event of emergencies or disaster situations. To help protect St. Cloud citizens, homeowners should pile any debris curbside in front of their property. Debris is defined as construction and demolition materials (i.e., material from damaged buildings) and downed vegetation (i.e., trees and branches). All debris must be separated by type. Sheriff - Noticias / News Arrestan 2 sospechosos y localizan cocaína y marihuana en parada de vehículo Condado Osceola - El 24 de marzo, aproximadamente a las 5:00 p.m., los agentes de la Oficina del Sheriff del Condado Osceola intentaron detener un vehículo en la Ham Brown Road en Kissimmee. El conductor del vehículo entró en el estacionamiento de la Escuela Primaria Sunrise, pero antes de detenerse, dos sospechosos comenzaron a lanzar pequeñas bolsas de marihuana y cocaína por las ventanas. Deputies Arrest 2 Suspects and Locate Cocaine and Marijuana During Traffic Stop Osceola County – On March 24 at approximately 5:00 p.m., Osceola County Sheriff's deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Ham Brown Road in Kissimmee. The driver of the vehicle drove into the parking lot of Sunrise Elementary School and, prior to stopping, two suspects began throwing small bags of marijuana and cocaine out the windows. Before coming to a complete stop, the suspects, later identified as Carlos Alberto Cruz and Jonathan Luis Sanchez, discarded numerous small bags of marijuana and cocaine that were scattered on the campus of Sunrise Elementary School. Once the car stopped, deputies conducted the traffic stop and
located approximately 20 small marijuana bags totaling 54.4 grams and 140 small bags of cocaine equaling 16.5 grams, both discarded at the school and in the vehicle. The suspects also had a large amount of cash in their possession. Both suspects were charged with Tampering with Evidence, Possession of a Controlled Substance without a Prescription, Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Sell, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell. In addition, Cruz was charged with Driving with a Suspended License. Cruz and Sanchez were arrested and booked into the Osceola County Jail.

2 Juveniles Arrested for Battery and Attempted Escape at Juvenile Housing Facility Osceola County – On March 25 at approximately 8:44 p.m., Osceola County Sheriff's deputies responded to the juvenile housing facility located at 2330 New Beginnings Road in Kissimmee. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with a staff member who indicated a disturbance occurred when one of the juveniles, identified as Alexis Yovanis Ramos, attempted to gain access to another pod. Ramos and several other juveniles began kicking the door and windows. During the disturbance, Ramos became involved in a physical altercation with a staff member. He removed the staff member’s keys and took his radio in an attempt to gain access to the main
control room, but he was unsuccessful. While this was occurring, another juvenile, identified as Cristian Damian Pereyra physically battered another staff member, attempting to take his keys and radio. Both juveniles were arrested and charged with Deprive Means to Communicate, Incite or Encouraging a Riot, Battery on a Detention Staff, Grand Theft and Attempted Escape. They were booked into the Orange County Detention Center. This is the second incident at the facility in less than two days. El Magic logra ganar dos juegos consecutivos Orlando, FL - Muy lejos de la carrera hacia las finales, la lesión a plagado al Magic perdiendo su sexto partido consecutivo el viernes pasado contra el Heat de Miami.

Orlando, FL - Way out of the playoff race, the injury plagued Magic lost their 6th straight game last Friday against the Miami Heat. Going into half-time the Magic were leading, only to have Miami explode in the 3rd outscoring the Magic by 19 points. Evan Fournier scored 20, followed up by Andrew Nicholson (19) and Elfrid Payton (14), this was not enough and the Magic got toppled 108-97.

Kaká “Ready To Go” for Sunday’s Match Against Portland On Sunday, Orlando City takes on the Portland Timbers for their first home match in nearly three weeks. With Kaká back from injury, Head Coach Adrian Heath will have almost all of his players healthy, allowing him to put up Orlando City’s best against the defending champions. Kaká, who suffered a thigh injury the week before the home opener, is excited to get back on the pitch with his teammates. He insists that there will be no need to ease him back into the tempo of play. “I’m ready to play,” Kaká said. “I’m ready to play 90 minutes.” Kaká’s teammates are also excited to have him back on the pitch. “He looks good,” Brek Shea said after Wednesday’s training. “Obviously good to have him back. It’s never good when you lose a player of his stature to injury.”
David Mateos, who has been missing since the start of the season with a hamstring injury, will also be available in Sunday’s match. With Mateos and Kaká healthy again, the Orlando City roster is almost untouched by injuries.
