Gov. Scott activates Emergency Bridge Loan Program for small businesses damaged by Hurricane Irma Fort Myers, FL – Governor Rick Scott activated the Florida Small Business Emergency Bridge Loan Program to support small businesses impacted by Hurricane Irma. The bridge loan program, managed by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO), will provide short-term, interestfree loans to small businesses that experienced physical or economic damage during the storm. The application period is from September 14 through Oct. 31, 2017. DEO administers the Florida Small Business Emergency Bridge Loan Program in partnership with the Florida
SBDC Network to provide cash flow to businesses damaged by a disaster. The short-term, interest-free loans help bridge the gap between the time damage is incurred and when a business secures other financial resources, including payment of insurance claims or longer-term Small Business Administration loans. Up to $10 million has been allocated for the program. Small business owners with two to 100 employees located in any of Florida’s 67 counties affected by Hurricane Irma can apply for short-term loans up to $25,000. These interest-free loans are granted in terms of 90 or 180 days.
To be eligible, a business must have been established prior to Sept. 4, 2017, and demonstrate economic injury or physical damage as a result of Hurricane Irma. To complete an application by the Oct. 31, 2017, deadline, or for more information on the program, visit www. floridadisasterloan.org. General information - After Irma Osceola County hurricane general information 4. Do not place any debris Osceola County, FLOsceola County learned that the federal goverment added Osceola County to list of Florida counties now eligible for individual assistance from the federal government. The news came after the county submitted its Individual Assistance Preliminary Damage Assessment to FEMA with the assistance of many local, state and federal partners. The entire State of Florida was declared a disaster area, meaning governments and certain nonprofit organizations are already eligible for assistance. Tarps The following locations will be distributing tarps from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM Thursday, September 14th and Friday, September 15th. Upon arrival, registration form will be handed, once filled out, 2 tarps will be given per person. Tarps distribution see table. Page 03

How to place Hurricane Debris by the Curb Hurricane debris includes: •Vegetative waste includes trees, logs, limbs, grass, twigs, etc. Do NOT place leaves in plastic bags. •Construction Debris includes roofing materials, siding, carpet, furniture, lumber, plumbing, appliances, etc. The following guidelines apply: 1. City of Orlando Hurricane Irma Orlando, FL The Municipality of Orlando shares the following important information on recovery efforts following Hurricane Irma: No charge of permits rate In order to help the city recover from Hurricane Irma, the Mayor of Orlando has issued an Executive Order not to charge for hurricane-related damage permit fees to assist residents
and businesses in making emergency repairs to property Hurricane Irma damaged by as soon as possible. Residents and businesses that have sustained substantial damage due to the hurricane can begin the process by calling the Citizen Information Line at 407-246-HELP (4357) and requesting an inspection of their property. Even after a hurricane has passed, our local lakes and rivers may continue to increase for several days as their watersheds drain downstream. It can take days for lakes that are landlocked or have limited discharge capacities to return to their normal water levels.

ACCT Statement on the termination of the deferred action for childhood arrivals Program - DACA The Trump Administration announced the rescission of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, providing a six-month window to begin winding down the program for the nearly 800,000 affected recipients. The program was instituted by the Obama Administration in 2012. Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) President and CEO J. Noah Brown offered the following statement in response. “DACA is of great importance to thousands of community college students throughout this country, and we are dismayed regarding the decision to terminate this program. Community colleges are openaccess institutions whose mission is to educate and empower students to achieve their academic and career goals. DACA is an important asset that facilitates this mission, providing stability and economic opportunity. Terminating DACA undercuts our efforts to serve this population by creating additional barriers to postsecondary access, including the ability for some students to receive in-state tuition. It would also prevent those students in whom we’ve invested from

Sheriff & Police - Noticias / News Los detectives necesitan ayuda para identificar a un sospechoso involucrado en un acto lascivo en el motel 6 sobre W. 192 Condadpo Osceola, FL - Los oficiales del Sheriff del Condado Osceola respondieron a una llamada en el Motel 6 (5731 W. Irón Bronson Memorial Hwy, Kissimmee 34746), el 6 de septiembre, a las 7:15 am. Los oficiales notaron que un hombre estaba de pie junto a su vehículo con sus genitales expuestos. Sólo vestía un polo de manga corta con rayas azules en la punta de las mangas. Detectives need help identifying a suspect involved in a lewd/lascivious Act at Motel 6 on W. 192 Condado Osceola, FL - Osceola County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call at Motel 6 (5731 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy, Kissimmee 34746), on September 6, at 7:15 am. Deputies learned that a male was standing next to his vehicle with his genitals exposed. He was only wearing a short-sleeved polo shirt with blue stripes at the tip of the sleeves. When the male was confronted by witnesses he entered a teal Ford Focus, unknown license plate, pulled out of the parking space and began to drive away. As he drove off, the male struck two victims, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The male fled the scene in an unknown direction on U.S. Highway 192. The suspect is described as a
white male in his 20’s or 30’s, slim built with long, black, stringy hair that went down the middle portion of his back. Attached is a photo of the vehicle as it left the scene and a composite sketch of the male suspect.
