Bandera Actual

Vote hoy y ayude al municipio de Orlando a rediseñar la bandera de la ciudad Orlando, FL – Desde que el municipio de Orlando lanzó la competencia para rediseñar la bandera de la ciudad en febrero, se han recibido más de 950 diseños de artistas de todas partes del mundo.

El Comité de Diseño de la Bandera, conformado por líderes vecinales, miembros de la comunidad artística y de diseño, aficionados de la historia y un experto en diseño de banderas, seleccionó a diez finalistas.

El municipio quiere que los residentes escojan los mejores diseños a través del voto. Los residentes que deseen votar, pueden visitar www.cityoforlando. net/flag desde hoy 3 de abril al 17 de abril de 2017.

Se permite a cada persona votar una vez al día. Los votos emitidos más de una vez por día serán excluidos.

Cualquier solicitud fraudulenta será excluida.

Luego que el proceso de votación culmine el 17 de abril a la medianoche, el Comité de Diseño de la Bandera se reunirá para contar los votos y hacer la recomendación final al Concejo Municipal.

The Flag Design Committee, made up of neighborhood leaders, members of the artistic and design community, history buffs and an expert in flag design, selected ten finalists.

The city wants residents to choose the best designs through voting.

Residents who wish to vote can visit www.cityoforlando.net/flag from April 3rd through the 17th.

Each person is allowed to vote once a day. Votes cast more than once per day will be excluded. Any fraudulent request will be excluded.

After the voting process culminates on April 17 at midnight, the Flag Design Committee will meet to count the votes and make the final recommendation to the City Council.

Background: Principles of the Design of the Flag of the American Vexillological Association: The city is looking for a design that has the following five principles outlined by the American Association Vexillological, organization dedicated to the scientific and academic study of flags: 1.Simplicity 2.Significant symbols 3.Two to three basic colors 4.No letters or stamps 5.Distinctive Information of the current flag of the city of Orlando: The current city flag was approved by the Orlando City Council on June 2, 1980. It was created through a design competition sponsored by the Orlando Kiwanis Club and the Council of Arts and Sciences. El evento fue desde las Kissimmee, FL- El 30 de marzo se llevó a cabo en la Comunidad Champions el evento del Osceola Council on Aging. Sobre 30 líderes comunitarios donaron de su tiempo para llevar a cabo el evento y de paso compartir con la comunidad de Council on

El Council on Aging sirve a sobre 260 clientes en “Meals on Wheels” y necesitan más voluntarios y donaciones a nuestro programa local de “Osceola Meals on Wheels”.

We had over 30 community leaders dedicate their time to deliver Meals on Wheels and to meet

Council on Aging serve over 260 Meals on Wheels clients and they need more volunteers and donations to our local Osceola Meals on Wheels program.

USCIS - Noticias / News USCIS alcanza el máximo de H-1B del año fiscal 2018 Washington, DC - El Servicio de Ciudadanía e Inmigración de los Estados Unidos ha alcanzado el máximo de 65,000 visas H-1B para el año fiscal 2018. El USCIS también ha recibido un número suficiente de peticiones H-1B para cumplir con la exención de 20,000 visados de grado avanzado, conocidas como “Master’s Cap. U.S. businesses use the H-1B program to employ foreign workers in occupations that require specialized knowledge.

En cuanto al regreso de mexicanos a México, los diputados dejaron saber que

Asimismo se está trabajando con medidas de apoyo en vivienda y salud. Quieren que la gente sienta su apoyo, que no están solos y que están pendientes de que no violen sus derechos y por lo que se cuenta con un grupo de abogados en el consulado absolutamente gratis, para que consulten todas sus dudas.

Los diputados estuvieron visitando diferentes líderes y autoridades locales para crear lazos de apoyo para la comunidad.

Communidad / Community El Consorcio de Fabricación Avanzada llamado ahora BRIDG renombrado el lugar de 500-acres, El condado Osceola podrá contar con un futuro prometedor en la manufactura con la fabricación de nuevas tecnologías que dio inicio con el corte de cinta oficial de uno de los laboratorios de fabricación más avanzados en el mundo.

BRIDG (Bridging the Innovation to Development Gap) es un centro en NeoCity, frente del Osceola Heritage Park, ofrece a asociados y a otros la oportunidad de compartir el equipo y llevar a cabo investigaciones para garantizar el próximo nivel y la economía los sensores de última generación.

BRIDG, por sus siglas en ingles recoge la misión principal de la innovadora tecnología colectiva – Bridging the Innovation to Development Gap", está liderado por el Condado Osceola, la Universidad de la Florida Central y el Consejo de Florida High Tech Corridor (conocido como el Corredor).

Desde su lanzamiento en el año 2014, el consorcio, conocido como el Consorcio Internacional de Investigación para la Fabricación Avanzada (ICAMR), ha proporcionado una plataforma para el desarrollo de manufactura avanzada, ha sido el “puente" entre las investigaciones en las universidades de Florida o los innovadores de la industria avanzada y la manufactura competitiva de nuevos productos vinculados a los dispositivos y "Internet of things".

"Estamos entrando a una nueva fase en este proyecto el cual transformará la economía del Condado Osceola y de la Florida, y nos da una ventaja competitiva sobre los centros de fabricación de nano-escala avanzada, en todo el mundo, es lo que nuestra nueva identidad refleja," dijo Chester, Kennedy Director Ejecutivo de BRIDG. Su asociación actual con base en Bélgica como centro internacional líder basada en nano electrónica y tecnología digital fotónica caseras y desarrollador de sensor inteligente.

Los legisladores estatales aprobaron $15 millones la pasada primavera para el proyecto y, en un anuncio importante en julio, la firma belga especializada en nanotecnología Imec anunció su asociación y planifica construir su centro de diseño de investigación y desarrollo en NeoCity, en colaboración con BRIDG. La nueva sede de la compañía en los Estados Unidos se centrará en fotónica y circuitos integrados de alta velocidad electrónica.

“Con nuestros socios locales y globales, creamos nuevas soluciones y las economías de escala para transformar la industria del sensor inteligente, mientras que la diversificación de la economía para levantar nuestra comunidad," dijo Dale Whittaker, UCF Provost y Vice Presidente Ejecutivo.

"Eso es lo que sucede cuando se reúnen a las mejores mentes de los laboratorios de investigación y centros de fabricación con líderes del gobierno orientados al futuro".

Otros socios importantes son Harris Corporation, laboratorios nacionales de Argonne, Photon-X con sede en Kissimmee, la Florida internacional University, University of South Florida y Universidad de la Florida entre otros.

"Este proyecto es otra demostración del poder de las asociaciones, que casi desde el comienzo personas y organizaciones han levantado sus manos y abrieron sus billeteras – incluso antes de ser pedido –los fundadores de una empresa que todos sabemos van a crear empleos y una nueva tecnología increíble," dijo Randy Berridge, presidente del corredor.

Osceola's Advanced Manufacturing Consortium now called BRIDG A bold future for manufacturing new technologies was celebrated with the official ribbon cutting for one of the most advanced fabrication labs in the world.

The BRIDG (Bridging the Innovation to Development Gap) design center at NeoCity, located across from Osceola Heritage Park, offers partners and others the opportunity to share equipment and conduct research needed to profitably access the next-generation sensor economy.

BRIDG, an acronym that captures the central mission of the innovative technology collective – “Bridging the Innovation Development Gap,” is led

by Osceola County, the University of Central Florida and the Florida High Tech Corridor Council (known as The Corridor.)

Since it launched in 2014, the consortium, formerly known as the International Consortium for Advanced Manufacturing Research (ICAMR), has provided a platform for advanced manufacturing development to “bridge the gap” between advanced research at Florida’s universities or industry innovators and cost-competitive manufacturing of new products tied to connected devices and the Internet of Things.

“We’re entering a new phase of this project that will transform Osceola County and Florida’s economy, giving us a competitive advantage over advanced, nano-scale manufacturing centers around the globe, and our new identity reflects that,” said Chester Kennedy, CEO for BRIDG. Its partners now range from a Belgiumbased leading international hub in nano-electronics and digital technology to a home-grown photonics and smart sensor developer.

In January, leaders announced the new name for the consortium. On April 13, a ribbon cutting gave guests the opportunity to celebrate what for many represents a bold future for Central Florida with the promise of new clean manufacturing and related jobs.

The 109,000-square-foot facility will be one of the most advanced fabrication labs in the world, where the scale of manufacturing conducted can be described as 1/1000th of the diameter of the average human hair.

The building includes environmental considerations reducing the number of measurable particles in the clean room from one million to one while maintaining absolute temperature and humidity control In addition to a new name for the consortium, Osceola County has renamed the 500-acre, master

planned site where the consortium is headquartered from the Osceola Tech Farm to NeoCity. Osceola County leaders say the name signals a new horizon for the region’s hightech economy, and the site will be more than a traditional research park with its community connections and surrounding natural landscape.

“The global high-tech spotlight is shining on us as we change the face of Florida’s economy – putting us at the forefront of the next generation of nano-scale, micro-electronics,” said Osceola Commission Chairman Brandon Arrington. “None of this would have been possible without unanimous support of this Osceola County Commission, which has had the vision and foresight to make the commitment to fund this journey.”

The project has garnered widespread support.

State lawmakers approved $15 million toward the project last spring, and, in a major announcement in July, Belgian nanotechnology firm imec announced its partnership and plans to build its research and development design center at NeoCity, in collaboration with BRIDG. The company’s new U.S. headquarters will focus on photonics and high-speed electronics integrated circuits.

“With our local and global partners, we will create new solutions and economies of scale to transform the smart sensor industry, while diversifying the economy to lift our community,” said Dale Whittaker, UCF Provost and Executive Vice President. “That’s what happens when you bring together the best minds from the research labs and manufacturing centers with futurefocused government leaders.”

Other major partners include Harris Corporation, Argonne National Laboratories, Kissimmee-based Photon-X, Florida International University, University of South Florida and University of Florida among others.

State - Noticias / News El Gobernador Scott declara estado de emergencia por incendios forestales Tallahassee, FL - El Gobernador Rick Scott emitió la Orden Ejecutiva 17-120 declarando estado de emergencia en Florida luego de los recientes incendios forestales en todo el Estado y el alto potencial de aumento de incendios forestales que podrían continuar este año. Se esperan condiciones más calientes y más secas de lo normal en la Florida durante los próximos meses.

Sheriff & Police - Noticias / News Policía de Kissimmee arresta a 2 por homicidio Kissimmee, FL- Los detectives de la policía de Kissimmee arrestaron a dos personas por el asesinato de Osvaldo Rodriguez Otero de 22 años ocurrido el 29 de enero de 2017.

De acuerdo a la investigación, los detectives identificaron a Emanuel Ocasio- González (F.N. 12/9/86) y a Israel Ronnie-Castro (F.N.

12/11/80) como los sospechosos en el homicidio ocurrido temprano en la mañana el 29 de enero de 2017 en S.Hoagland Blvd.

Ambos hombres fueron arrestados y enfrentan cargos de asesinato con premeditación y fueron encarcelados sin derecho a fianza en la cárcel del Condado Osceola.

Kissimmee police arrest 2 in the January 29, 2017 Homicide Kissimmee, FL - Kissimmee police detectives have arrested two in the murder of 22-year-old Osvaldo Rodriguez-Otero that occurred on January 29, 2017.

Through the course of the investigation, detectives identified Emanuel Ocasio-Gonzalez (D.O.B.

12/9/86) and Israel Ronnie-Castro (D.O.B. 12/11/80) as the suspects in the early morning homicide that occurred on January 29, 2017 on S. Hoagland Blvd.

Both men have been arrested and are charged with premediated murder and are being held on zero bond at the Osceola County Jail.

Osceola Parkway in Kissimmee about shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located one male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was taken

to an area hospital and is expected to survive his injuries.

Detectives are speaking to all parties believed to have been involved in the incident. The circumstances surrounding the shooting incident are still under investigation.

Shooting investigation Osceola County, FL. - Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies and detectives from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit responded to 2 Cumbernauld Way in Poinciana, FL to serve a search warrant about child pornography.

There they contacted Michael Fradera (D.O.B.11/27/77), outside the residence. Upon seeing detectives outside the residence, Mr. Fradera took out

a firearm that was concealed on his person. Mr. Fradera pointed the gun at himself and fired, causing a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Mr. Fradera was pronounced deceased at the scene. There were no Deputies or other persons injured during the incident. Osceola Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit detectives and forensics responded to the scene and the investigation in on going.

Unable to secure a win they dropped the game, 3-1, at Osceola County Stadium.

Castro followed with a fly ball to right that was misplayed by Narcisco Crook, allowing Morales to score from second for the 1-0 lead. Daytona rallied against reliever Andres Santiago for three runs in the seventh to grab the late lead.

Nick Senzel and Gavin LaValley singled to start things out before Chris Okey was sent down on strikes. Orlando City adquiere al Mediocampista Central Luis Gil de México como préstamo regular y 11 partidos de la Orlando, FL- El Orlando City SC adquirió los derechos de seleccionar al mediocampista Luis Gil de Real Salt Lake en un intercambio por $100,000 dinero de la asignación de activos (TAM) a ser entregado en el 2018. The attacking midfielder joined Liga MX in December 2015, and was a member of the Apertura 2016 Copa MX championshipwinning team. Gil made 10 total appearances for Los Gallos Blancos.

Both Elfrid Payton and Aaron Gordon delivered in Wednesday night win over the Detroit Pistons. Gordon finished with 32 points and 12 rebounds. Payton finished with 14 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists adding another triple double to his already impressive stats for this season. These two young, core players for the Magic are finally displaying consistent performances and helping lead their team on the court.

While this season was painful and the future is unsure, these two have finally showed Magic fans they are strong

enough to build a team around. This offseason will be an active one for the Magic. Thursday morning, the Magic fired general manager Rob Hennigan and assistant general manager Scott Perry. The interim general manager will be Matt Lloyd who has served as an assistant general manager for the Magic. Coach Frank Vogel is expected to return next season with the Magic regardless of who they hire as general manager.

The NBA draft lottery is May 16th. The Magic will once again have a shot as a first or second pick in the first round, though it's more likely they pick 4th or 5th.
