State of Osceola County Address announcements Osceola County, Florida –Osceola County hosted its annual State of the County Address and announced that several major land development projects, all bordering Osceola Parkway, are underway. Declaración de interrupción del tranvía de la Autoridad de Aviación de la ciudad Orlando Orlando, FL - Phil Brown, Director Ejecutivo de la Autoridad de Aviación de la ciudad Orlando (GOAA por sus siglas en inglés) emite la siguiente declaración sobre la interrupción del servicio de tranvía Automated People Mover (APM) desde el edificio de la terminal principal hacia el área 3 desde el que se puede observar las aeronaves. "En nombre del Aeropuerto Internacional de Orlando, pido disculpas por las molestias a nuestros pasajeros por las interrupciones del APM (tranvía) del domingo y de hoy, 24 de abril. La seguridad y el servicio al cliente son nuestras principales prioridades para nuestros pasajeros y la Junta y el personal están extremadamente preocupados por asegurarse de que esas prioridades se mantengan. No hay justificación para que se produzcan interrupciones futuras”. There is no justification for future interruptions to occur.” “The new APM’s have many complex alarms and safety features that can cause the smallest anomaly to require system checks by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America (MHIA) or its subcontracting personnel on site. The latest series

of interruptions continue to occur because those anomalies cause different triggers to alarm. Last week it was a communications issue and today it was the result of human error.” “We have had a number of meetings with MHIA and have elevated this matter to the highest level within their organization. Mitsubishi is a global company with a global reputation and we have expressed our concerns verbally this afternoon. We are directing them to address these issues including adding additional technical staff at critical system positions during passenger operations. Mitsubishi has been on the premises since the inception of these issues and we are working closely with them on these interruptions.” “Some may ask why not go back to the old trams? Veintiséis equipos y 75 aprendices de utilidades en toda la Florida se reunieron para reconocer a la profesión de la línea de trabajo y demostrar la seguridad, la habilidad y la resistencia de instaladores de líneas eléctricas. La competencia de estilo de rodeo consistió en cinco eventos cronometrados. Hay dos niveles de competencia en el rodeo: equipos oficial y aprendiz. El oficial los equipos consisten de tres miembros, dos escaladores y un trabajador tierra. Un jornalero cualificado cuenta con más de cuatro años de experiencia en el comercio de energía eléctrica. Twenty-six teams and 75 apprentices from utilities throughout Florida gathered to recognize the profession of line work and demonstrate the safety, skill and endurance of electric linemen. The rodeo-style competition consisted of five timed events. There are two levels of competition in the rodeo: journeyman teams and apprentice. The journeyman teams consist of three members – two climbers and a ground worker. A qualified journeyman has more than four years of experience within the electric utility trade. San Juan, PR- Después de dos exitosos días, el P3 Summit Puerto Rico logró captar el interés de inversionistas locales e internacionales interesados en lograr acuerdos con el Gobierno en proyectos de Alianzas Público Privadas (APP). La cumbre celebrada en el Centro de Convenciones Dr. Pedro Rosselló González, sobrepasó la asistencia esperada, contando con más de 850 personas e inversionistas extranjeros de Estado Unidos, España, Inglaterra, Australia, Hungría, Turquía, China, República Dominicana y Colombia. El gobernador Ricardo Rosselló Nevares agradeció la labor del director ejecutivo de la Autoridad para las Alianzas Público Privadas, licenciado Omar Marrero y el interés de los inversionistas que comprueba que Puerto Rico está abierto para hacer negocios. Por su parte, el director ejecutivo de la Autoridad para las Alianzas Público Privadas sostuvo que “la Administración del gobernador Rosselló Nevares tiene un compromiso inequívoco de ser facilitador”. The Redesigned Cards The new Green Cards and EADs will: • Display the individual’s photos on both sides; • Show a unique graphic image and color palette: • Green Cards will have an image of the Statue of Liberty and a predominately green palette; • EAD cards will have an image of a bald eagle and a predominately red palette; • Have embedded holographic images; and • No longer display the individual’s signature. Also, Green Cards will no longer have an optical stripe on the back. How To Tell If Your Card Is Valid Some Green Cards and EADs issued

after May 1, 2017, may still display the existing design format as USCIS will continue using existing card stock until current supplies are depleted. Both the existing and the new Green Cards and EADs will remain valid until the expiration date shown on the card. Some older Green Cards do not have an expiration date. These older Green Cards without an expiration date remain valid. Overpayments can be due to administrative error, client error, or fraud. Collection options to recover the public assistance funds include cash payments, online payments, intercepting Lottery winnings, the Treasury Offset Program and future benefit garnishment. DCF continues to lead the country in recovering overpayments and as a result, Florida is eligible to retain a portion of the funds recovered in the Federal Grants Trust Fund. Over the last three years, OPBI has retained more in recoveries than the state spends to fund the program, netting a positive return on investment. Members of Osceola County Board of Commissioners, St. Cloud City Council and City of Kissimmee Commission, along with City of St. Cloud’s and City of Kissimmee’s city managers and City of St. Cloud directors, participated in demonstrations and classes. Officials experienced a “Day in the Life” of firefighters, emergency medical technicians and paramedics. “We wanted to present this program to help orient all of Osceola County’s elected officials and managers, and City of St. Cloud directors on operations in fire and emergency services,” said SCFR Chief Bill Sturgeon. “All participants received an overview of our equipment and capabilities and worked

together as teams to accomplish the mission at hand. We received great feedback on their experiences, which they all agreed – participation is much more effective than demonstration or expression.” Almost 20 participants took part in the extrication of an “automobile crash victim” using the Jaws of Life, assisted in providing care to a “cardiac-arrest victim”, and participated in search operations under simulated fire conditions. They were also witness to a live-burn demonstration that showed how working smoke alarms and sprinklers save lives and how rapidly fire truly spreads. While Fire Ops 101 was conducted in a controlled, safe environment featuring staged scenarios, all participants walked away with the reality of what firstresponders face on a daily basis. They were also reminded of the importance of supporting first-responders and of implementing the proper measures to ensure public safety for healthy communities.

Sheriff & Police - Noticias / News Secuestro y detención por agresión Condado Osceola, FL.- Oficiales de la oficina del alguacil del Condado Osceola, recibieron un informe de un incidente entre dos miembros de la facultad de la escuela Parkway Middle, en Kissimmee. La víctima informó que Shawn Greaves, un profesor de la escuela, la tomó en contra su voluntad y la llevó a un armario dentro de un salón de clases,

donde le maltrató antes de que ella fuera capaz de salir. Basado en la investigación de los detectives, el Sr. Greaves fue detenido y llevado a la cárcel del Condado Osceola acusado de los cargos de maltrato y secuestro. Kidnapping and Battery Arrest Osceola County, FL.- Osceola County Sheriff’s Deputies received a report of an incident between two faculty members at Parkway Middle School, in Kissimmee. The victim reported that Shawn Greaves, a teacher at the school, picked her up against her will and brought her into a closet within a classroom, where he battered her before she was able to leave. Based on the investigation by detectives, Mr. Greaves was arrested and booked at the Osceola County Jail on a warrant from this case for the charges of; Battery and Kidnapping. The Osceola County School District was notified of Mr. Greaves’ arrest and he has since bonded out of jail.

Osceola County, FLOsceola County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an Armed Robbery at the Paws Hotel located at 1040 Plaza Drive in Kissimmee. The incident occurred on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, just before 11:40 AM. Two males entered the Paws Hotel wearing hooded sweatshirts and after having a brief conversation with an employee, they drew handguns, pointing them at the employee and demanded money from the register. The males could flee the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. No one was injured in the incident. The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office is asking that if anyone has
