Orange News - Orlando Mensaje Anual del Estado de la Ciudad Orlando, FL - El 2 de octubre, el alcalde de Orlando, Buddy Dyer, pronunció su Discurso Anual sobre el Estado del Centro de la Cuidad a cientos de residentes, dueños de negocios y líderes comunitarios. Osceola County Noticias / News Condado Osceola adopta su presupuesto para el Año Fiscal 2020 Condado Osceola, FL - Por décimo año consecutivo, la tasa de impuestos para los residentes del Condado Osceola permanece inalterada con la aprobación por parte de los Comisionados del Condado de un presupuesto de $1.3 mil millones para el año fiscal 2020 y con un énfasis en la transportación y la seguridad pública. A través del liderazgo de la Junta y los esfuerzos de nuestros socios, el presupuesto a p r o b a d o continúa brindando los servicios necesarios a los ciudadanos con las mismas tasas de impuestos que el año fiscal 19 para el Fondo General, el Servicio de Emergencias Médicas del Condado y la Biblioteca con un ajuste mínimo para el Programa de Conservación de Tierras Ecológicas (SAVE por sus siglas en inglés) aunque compensado por la tasa de deuda de SAVE sin aumento neto, con el fin de reservar fondos para el mantenimiento perpetuo de tierras adquiridas. Osceola County adopts FY 2020 budget Osceola County, FL - For the 10th consecutive year, the millage rate for Osceola County residents remains unchanged, as Osceola County Commissioners approved a $1.3 billion FY 2020 budget Monday with an emphasis on transportation and public safety. Through the leadership of the Board and efforts of our partners, the approved budget continues to provide necessary services to the citizens at the same millage rates as FY19 for the General Fund, County EMS and Library with minimal adjustment to SAVE Maintenance, although offset by the SAVE Debt rate with no net increase, in order to reserve funds for perpetual maintenance of acquired lands.

Osceola County School Center for Employee Health Osceola County, FL - In a unique public-private partnership, the Osceola County School Board and RosenCare™, owned and operated by Harris Rosen, Florida’s largest independent hotelier and founder of Rosen Hotels & Resorts in Orlando, will hold a grand re-opening event for the school district's Center for Employee Health on October 9, 2019. RosenCare began administering the district’s Center for Employee Health on October 1, 2019. The center serves Osceola County School District employees and dependents that have enrolled in the county’s healthcare plan with primary care services, plus physical therapy, medical nutrition therapy, occupational health, on-site prescription dispensing, and on-site x-rays and EKGs. The agreement is the first of its kind for RosenCare, which has saved Rosen Hotels & Resorts close to $400 million since its inception in 1991.
RosenCare was approached by the School District of Osceola County to oversee its Center for Employee Health’s operations with several goals in mind: 1) to improve the outcomes of care for the plan’s participants and 2) to identify ways to reduce costs for district member’s overall healthcare including out of pocket costs. Local Noticias / News Osceola Council on Aging y Home Depot se unen para el programa "helping homebound heroes" Kissimmee, FL - El sábado 21 de septiembre, el Concilio de Envejecimiento de Osceola (OCOA, por sus siglas en inglés) y voluntarios de The Home Depot en Kissimmee (Tiendas 265 y 6851) y St. Cloud (Tienda 6350) construyeron una rampa de silla de ruedas de 34 pies para Stephen Seese, un veterano del ejército estadounidense, y su esposa Caroline en St. Cloud. Seese sirvió en el ejército de EE. UU. Desde el 1961 hasta el 1962. Ambos están discapacitados, y esta rampa para sillas de ruedas les proporcionará un entorno más seguro. La segunda casa, de Agnes Lugo, esposa del veterano del ejército Ricardo Lugo (fallecido), de Kissimmee, también recibió asistencia a través de voluntarios pintando el exterior de la casa, ajardinando y limpiando el patio de escombros peligrosos. The Osceola Council on Aging & The Home Depot team up for “helping homebound heroes” program Kissimmee, FL - On Saturday, September 21, The Osceola Council on Aging (OCOA) and volunteers from The Home Depot in Kissimmee (Stores 265 & 6851) and St. Cloud (Store 6350) built a 34 ft. wheelchair ramp for Stephen Seese, a U.S. Army Veteran, and his wife Caroline in St. Cloud. Mr. Seese served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 62. They are both disabled, and this wheelchair ramp will provide them a safer environment. The second home, of Agnes Lugo wife of Army Veteran Ricardo Lugo(deceased), from Kissimmee also received assistance thru volunteers painting the exterior of the home, landscaping and cleaning up the yard of dangerous debris. Her husband Richard served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 54.

In addition, the volunteers landscaped with new plants and mulch and then finished by installing a 20-ft. lighted flagpole to celebrate the service that the Seese and Lugo Families have provided to this great nation.

Second Annual Pinktoberfest event St. Cloud, FL – The City of St. Cloud and Pink Heals St. Cloud Charter have teamed up once again to celebrate the 2nd Annual Pinktoberfest event on Saturday, October 12th, in Downtown St. Cloud. This event helps raise awareness and funds for the St. Cloud Charter of Pink Heals. Pink Heals is a non-profit healthcare support group that provides financial and emotional support for families battling cancer, within the city. All funds raised at the event will stay in St. Cloud. Venezolanos en Orlando planificando la Bajada de la Chinita
¿Qué es la bajada de la Chinita? Por Marco A. Jiménez Potenza – El Osceola Star Osceola, FL - Una de las tradiciones más conmemorativas de Venezuela, especialmente en la ciudad de Maracaibo, estado Zulia, es no otra que rendirle tributo y honor a la Virgen de La Chiquinquirá, también conocida coloquialmente como la Virgen de la Chinita. Esta tradición venezolana remonta al año 1749 cuando una mujer lavaba su ropa en la orillas del lago de Maracaibo, cuando repentinamente vio flotando una tablita de madera fina, la cual recogió pensando en que le podría ser útil para tapar la tinaja de agua que tenía en el corredor de su casa. A la mañana siguiente, la tabla comenzó a brillar y apareció la imagen de Nuestra Señora de Chiquinquirá. Para que luego la casa de la señora se convirtiera en un
templo conmemorativo. Con el pasar de los años, esta historia comenzó a ir atrayendo múltiples creyentes, lo cual condujo a que cada 18 de noviembre se baje la Virgen de la Chiquinquirá en Maracaibo. En la actualidad, debido a la alta migración venezolana, tradiciones como la bajada de la virgen han cruzado fronteras y se han celebrado en diferentes partes del planeta. What is the descent of La Chinita? By Marco A. Jiménez Potenza – El Osceola Star Osceola, FL - One of the most commemorative traditions of Venezuela, especially in the city of Maracaibo, Zulia, is no other than paying tribute and honor to the Virgin of La Chiquinquirá, also colloquially known as the Virgen de la Chinita. This Venezuelan tradition dates back to the year 1749 when a woman was washing her clothes on the shores of Lake Maracaibo when she suddenly saw a thin wooden board floating, which she picked up thinking that it could be useful to cover the jar of water she had in the hall of her house. The next morning, the table began to shine and the image of the Virgin of La Chiquinquirá appeared. Later the house of the lady becomes a
memorial temple. With the passing of the years, this story began to attract multiple believers, which led to the Virgin of La Chiquinquirá coming down in Maracaibo every November 18. Currently, due to the high Venezuelan migration, traditions such as the descent of the virgin have crossed borders and have been celebrated in different parts of the planet. Venezuela Allá Senador Marco Rubio sobre la suspensión de entrada a individuos vinculados al régimen de maduro Washington, D.C. — El senador estadounidense Marco Rubio (RFL) publicó el siguiente comunicado después que el presidente Donald Trump emitió una proclamación, en conformidad a las secciones 212(f) y 215(a) de la ley de inmigración y nacionalidad (INA) ((8 U.S.C. 1182(f) y 1185(a)) y la sección 301 del título 3 del Código de los Estados Unidos, suspendiendo la entrada de altos funcionarios del régimen ilegítimo de Venezuela y de sus familiares a los Estados Unidos. El miércoles 25 de septiembre, 2019 la casa blanca emitió una proclamación en donde Estados Unidos suspende o limita la entrada de los siguientes individuos: a) Miembros del régimen de Nicolas Maduro a nivel de viceministro, o equivalente y superior; b) Oficiales del ejército, policía o coroneles o equivalente o superior de la Guardia Nacional venezolana. c) Todos los miembros de la Asamblea Nacional Constituyente d) Todos los demás extranjeros que actúen en nombre o en apoyo de los esfuerzos del régimen de Maduro para socavar o dañar las instituciones democráticas de Venezuela o impedir la restauración del gobierno constitucional a Venezuela. e)Extranjeros que obtienen un beneficio financiero significativo de transacciones o negocios con personas descritas en las subsecciones de (a) a (d). f) Y los familiares directos de las personas descritas en los incisos de (a) a (e). Rubio statement on suspension of entry to individuals linked to maduro crime family Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) released a statement after President Donald Trump issued a proclamation, under sections 212(f) and 215(a) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) (8 U.S.C. 1182(f) and 1185(a)) and section 301 of title 3, United States Code, suspending the entry of senior illegitimate Venezuelan officials and their families to the United States. On Wednesday, September 25, 2019, the White House issued a proclamation in which the United States suspends or limits the entry of the following individuals: (a) Members of the regime of Nicolas Maduro at the level of Vice Minister, or equivalent, and above.
(b) All officers of the Venezuelan military, police, or National Guard at the rank of Colonel, or equivalent, and above. (c) All members of the organization known as the National Constituent Assembly of Venezuela. (d) All other aliens who act on behalf of or in support of the Maduro regime’s efforts to undermine or injure Venezuela’s democratic institutions or impede the restoration of constitutional government to Venezuela. (e)Aliens who derive significant financial benefit from transactions or business dealings with persons described in subsections (a) through (d) of this section; and (f) The immediate family members of persons described in subsections (a) through (e) of this section. “No mercenary linked to the Maduro narco terrorist tyranny, including members of the illegitimate National Constituent Assembly, should be permitted to enter the United States.

Jimenez Potenza Osceola, FL - El condado Osceola celebró la herencia hispana el jueves 26 de septiembre del 2019, la comunidad hispana del condado Osceola se reunió en las inmediaciones del Osceola Heritage Park para celebrar las culturas y tradiciones de Ecuador, Perú, Colombia y Venezuela. Compartiendo la gastronomía y la música de estos países latinoamericanos, la celebración fue encabezada por la Comisionada Viviana Janer quien inició el evento dándole un reconocimiento a María Emma Redondez por sus contribuciones a la hispanidad. Por parte de Colombia, se le dio la bienvenida a Nalexy y su orquesta, quienes deleitaron al publico al ritmo del vallenato. La Casa de la Cultura de Venezuela realizaron bailes y coreografías típicas de la cultura venezolana. De la misma manera, un grupo de bailarines representantes del Perú le mostraron al público sus bailes y tradiciones.

Commissioner Viviana Janer who initiated the event by giving out a proclamation to María Emma Redondez for her contributions to the Hispanic community. On behalf of Colombia, Nalexy and his orchestra were welcomed to the stage to play some great vallenato's melodies. Consequently, la Casa de la Cultura de Venezuela enters the scene performing different dances and choreographies typical of the Venezuelan culture. In the same way, a group of dancers representing Peru showed the public their dances and traditions.

Sheriff Noticias / News Operación "Parking Lot Party"de 7 meses, 67 arrestos Condado Osceola, FL - La Oficina del Sheriff del Condado Osceola, el Servicio de Alguaciles de los Estados Unidos, el Departamento de Aplicación de la Ley de Florida y Libertad Condicional y Probatoria del Estado realizaron una operación conjunta para verificar el cumplimiento de los 550 delincuentes sexuales y depredadores registrados en el Condado Osceola, Florida. La operación de cumplimiento titulada “Parking Lot Party” fue financiada por la Oficina de Alguaciles de los Estados Unidos y se desarrolló del 31 de enero de 2019 al 31 de agosto de 2019. Seven month "Parking Lot Party"operation, 67 arrests Osceola County, FL - The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, United States Marshals Service, Florida Department of Law Enforcement and State Probation and Parole conducted a joint operation to verify the compliance of the 550 registered sexual offender and predators in Osceola County Florida. The compliance operation titled “Parking Lot Party” was funded by the Unites States Marshals Office and ran from January 31, 2019, to August 31, 2019. Osceola County Sex Offender Detectives, along with the agencies mentioned, conducted proactive investigations to determine if the subjects had correctly reported their residency status, employment, email and social media accounts, campus activity, professional licenses, vehicles and vessels owned and have reported travel information over seventy two (72) hours. Sixty-seven (67) Sexual Offenders and Predators were arrested for non-compliance. The operation resulted in three (3) cases which violated the Adam Walsh Act (18 USC 2250(a)) requirement to register after crossing state lines. The three (3) subjects will be prosecuted in Federal Court. The Law Enforcement Officers involved not only charged the subjects with the Failure to Register Violations but conducted nine hundred and fifty-seven (957) address verifications throughout the county (to include tourist) with the assistance of the Kissimmee Police Department, St. Cloud Police Department and State Probation and Parole.
