Kissimmee Utility Authority presenta “March on Wheels” 5K
Kissimmee, FL - Kissimmee Utility Authority ha lanzado su calendario 2020 de conservación de energía, presentando a los ganadores de su 26º concurso anual de arte estudiantil.
Condado Osceola, FL - El programa "Meals on Wheels" del Osceola Council on Aging de Osceola será el anfitrión de la campaña nacional de marzo 2020 “March for Meals”. KUA presenta el evento March for Meals 5k que se llevará a cabo el sábado, 14 de marzo de 2020 e incluirá una carrera y caminata de 5k (3.1 millas) para individuos y/o equipos corporativos y familiares, esta es la competencia por equipos más grande y animada, una carrera gratis para niños, subasta silenciosa, y los que terminen la carrera recibiran una medalla. Además, si traes alimentos no perecederos, podrás participar en un sorteo especial.
Un panel de jueces seleccionó 12 entradas, una para cada mes calendario, que se presentan en el calendario de pared a todo color. Los estudiantes destacados son:
El calendario, disponible de forma gratuita en el centro de servicio al cliente de la empresa de servicios públicos en 1701 W. Carroll Street en Kissimmee, presenta una variedad de consejos de conservación de energía e incorpora el calendario del Distrito Escolar del Condado Osceola para una planificación conveniente. Abierto para estudiantes del Condado Osceola desde kindergarten hasta sexto grado, el concurso está diseñado para promover la conservación de energía entre los estudiantes y sus familias. Kissimmee Utility Authority releases 2020 energy conservation calendar Kissimmee, FL - Kissimmee Utility Authority has released its 2020 calendar of energy conservation, featuring the winning entries from its 26th annual student art contest. The calendar, available free of charge at the utility’s customer service center at 1701 W. Carroll Street in Kissimmee, features an assortment of energy conservation tips and incorporates the Osceola County School District calendar for convenient planning. Open to Osceola County students in kindergarten through sixth grade, the contest is designed to promote energy conservation among students and their families. Presidente de los Estados Unidos firma Declaración de Emergencia para Puerto Rico La Fortaleza, San Juan, PR - La gobernadora Wanda Vázquez Garced informó que el presidente de los Estados Unidos, Donald J. Trump, firmó el martes, 7 de enero la Declaración de Emergencia para ayuda federal directa (DFA por su siglas en inglés) para Puerto Rico, una medida inmediata y de corto plazo que permitirá al gobierno federal llevar a cabo o contratar el trabajo correspondiente después de los eventos sísmicos de los últimos días. Esta declaración de emergencia cubre los 78 municipios de la isla para permitir que la Agencia Federal para el Manejo de Emergencias (FEMA) ayude a Puerto Rico en medidas de protección de emergencia, bajo la Categoría B de la Ley Federal Stafford de conformidad con la ley, estas tareas se llevan a cabo antes, durante y después un incidente para eliminar o reducir las amenazas inmediatas. Como parte de las medidas para salvar vidas y proteger la salud y la seguridad, Puerto Rico puede recibir ayuda en el transporte y posicionamiento de equipos y otros recursos para una respuesta y para los costos relacionados con el Centro de Operaciones de Emergencia. Además, la gobernadora nombró al director ejecutivo de la Oficina para Recuperación, Reconstrucción y Resiliencia (COR3 por sus siglas en inglés), Ottmar Chávez, como representante autorizado de la gobernadora, y el secretario de Estado, Elmer Román, como coordinador Estatal para esta declaración de emergencia. Trump signed on Tuesday, Jan. 8, the Emergency Declaration for Direct Federal Assistance (DFA) for Puerto Rico, an immediate and short-term measure that will allow the federal government to carry out or contract the corresponding work after the seismic events of the past days. As for the protection of real estate property, assistance may include the construction of temporary levees for the protection against landslides, emergency repairs necessary to prevent major damage, retaining walls, sustaining or strengthening facilities to stabilize and prevent landslides; and the temporary stabilization of inclinations or mold treatment. In addition, the Governor appointed the Executive Director of the Office for Recovery, Reconstruction and Resilience (COR3 per its Spanish acronym), Ottmar Chávez, as the Authorized Representative of the Governor (GAR per its English acronym), and the Secretary of State, Elmer Román, as the State Coordinator (SCO per its English acronym) for this emergency declaration. Germolus brings vast experience in the aviation field as he was the Executive Director of the ChisholmHibbing Airport Authority, managing its two airports for the past 13 years. He has also been in various positions in airport management for over 26 years, including serving in the director role at several airports with commercial passenger service.
In Germolus’s recent leadership role, his airport grew significantly in the area of business and economic development, and he led efforts to attract coordinate and secure funding for both new construction and expansion of several major tenants, bringing more aviation and nonaviation manufacturing jobs to the airport. Shaun is active in Minnesota’s Council of Airports, having testified before the state legislature on various projects, was on the board of the three Chambers of Commerce surrounding his airports, and was given the Minnesota Council of Airport’s Award for Outstanding Leadership in Promoting Aviation in 2017. Consulate of Colombia and COAMED inaugurate health window Orlando, FL – On Thursday, January 9, 2020 at the General Consulate of Colombia in Orlando, took place the official opening of the first health window, which will run every two weeks on Fridays. This window will be supported by Orlando Family Physicians. The Colombian Consulate helps about 70 people daily and, together with COAMED Foundation, have noticed the need to provide a free basic medical check-up service for the growing Colombian community in central and northern Florida. Jiménez Potenza – El Osceola Star Orlando, FL — La coalición Voces Unidas por la Educación compuesta por miembros de la comunidad, líderes, maestros y estudiantes se movilizará este próximo 13 de enero a la ciudad capital de Tallahassee para elevar la voz acerca de los problemas que afectan a la comunidad hispana que desea continuar su educación secundaria y universitaria en el estado de la Florida, así como también invitar a mas latinos a que formen parte de la esta movilización para demostrar su fuerza y unión. Dentro de la coalición de organizaciones se encuentra la representación de la comunidad venezolana en la Florida Central, mediante la Red de Jóvenes Venezolanos en el Exterior, Jovenex Orlando, la cual está apoyando esta iniciativa para dar a conocer a los altos funcionarios del gobierno la realidad que viven los estudiantes venezolanos al llegar al estado de Florida con el objetivo de continuar su formación profesional.

Jiménez Potenza – El Osceola Star Orlando, FL — The United Voices for Education Coalition composed of community members, leaders, teachers and students will mobilize this January 13 to the capital city of Tallahassee to raise their voice about the problems affecting the Hispanic community that wants to continue their secondary and university education in the state of Florida, as well as inviting more Latinos to be part of this mobilization to demonstrate their strength and union. Osceola Sheriff - News Investigación de robo Condado Osceola, FL - El 29/12/2019 aproximadamente a las 12:30 p.m. una mujer estaba estacionada en el frente de la tienda Hope Thrift ubicada en 5943 West 192 en Kissimmee, ella estaba recostada de su vehículo cuando un hombre se le acercó y comenzó a empujarla, diciéndole: "Quédate quieta y métete en el automóvil". La víctima comenzó a gritar y el sospechoso la abrazó. La víctima pudo liberarse y buscar ayuda. Mientras buscaba ayuda, el hombre entró en el automóvil y le robó la billetera a la víctima. Robbery investigation Osceola County, FL - On 12/29/2019 at approximately 12:30 P.M. a female victim was parked at the front of the Hope Thrift Store located at 5943 West 192 in Kissimmee, when she was approached by a male subject. The victim was leaning into her parked car when she felt the suspect push up against her telling her to, “Be quite and get into the car.” The victim began to yell, and the suspect bear hugged her. The victim was able to break free and run for help.
While getting help, the suspect went into her car and stole her wallet. As the suspect walked away, he took approximately $50-$200 in US currency and discarded the wallet. The suspect fled riding a red and black bicycle traveling east on U.S.192. The suspect was described as a dark-skinned male, with dark brown eyes, dark short hair, and was unshaven. The suspect was wearing a grey hooded jacket with light grey sweatpants with a black stripe down the side of the legs. Provided is a picture of the actual suspect as he is fleeing the scene on his bicycle.

La dinastía no ha terminado (aún) El pasado sábado, 4 de enero, todo el mundo dio por muerta a la dinastía más impresionante en la historia de la NFL. Los Patriots, el equipo con más afición, pero también el más odiado, siempre envuelto en triunfos históricos y milagrosos, así como escándalos sobre proporcionados. Después de casi 20 años con 6 Super Bowls ganados, otros 3 perdidos, 13 campeonatos de conferencia y 17 de 19 títulos divisionales, la afición no puede esperar por el fin de esta dinastía. He’s a free agent, so signing his contract is urgent, and at this point he can no longer raise the team by himself, he needs help. El popular bailarín y coreógrafo Toni Costa será el mentor. El proceso de votación empezará después de cada trasmisión, a las 10 p.m. Este, y durará 24 horas. Miami, FL - Celebrities are ready to take the dance floor in the new season of “Mira Quién Baila All Stars” (Look Who’s Dancing or MQB), Univision’s megahit dance competition where top stars dance off for their favorite charities. MQB All Stars begins this Sunday at 8 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. CT) on Univision. “Mira Quién Baila All Stars” is ready to kickoff the new year with global superstar Pitbull as the first musical guest of the season. The popular “Mr. Worldwide,” who interprets the show’s theme song (“Mueve la Cintura”). In this new season, former Miss Universe and winner of MQB’s fifth season Dayanara Torres, creative director and professional dancer Casper Smart, and Mexican actress, professional dancer and singer Bianca Marroquín, will take a seat in the judging panel. The beloved dancer and choreographer Toni Costa will be the contestant mentor. The voting process begins after each broadcast at 10 p.m. ET and remains open for 24 hours. Fans can cast their votes at Univision.com/conecta and they have up to 10 votes per gala.
